Good Connections! Two mistakes for me too (I also wasn't "easy" with the adjective "easy" and the the adverb "enough" mixing with verbs) but I got the Monty Hall definition at the end. This is a classic example of confusing conditional probability with a bit of game theory. It all "hinges" on the knowledge that the host *always* (or almost always) opens a door with a goat. In that case, you should switch. If he opens a random door, there is no advantage in switching. Very good Friday Mini. My time wasin 1:08. Great Strands! I saw "Mark" but no "Spencer" and other fake almost-pairs. So I had to take a hint to get started.
I made the same 1 mistake on Connections and I think got them in the same order you did. I also didn't consider "Enough" to go with the others. I was thinking of already being in a relaxed state, so enough seemed to be the opposite of that.
Perfect connections! I almost went for that green herring (lol) but finally emphasized the words correctly and got it!! Discovered the Monty Hall problem never heard of it but ya it makes sense! Mini in 52 and perfect strands!
Connections: 🟦🟨🟩🟪 Purple be purplin'. Overall not a difficult puzzle but I definitely didn't find purple. Mini: 0:51 Got hung up on past vs present tense. Probably could have gotten it all via the acrosses but I blanked on RIVAL and thought SMELL instead of SCENT. Strands: Rangsk Perfect Now this is the kind of Strands I really like. Perfectly split, with paired words on either side of the Spangram.
Hold it a second easy is not a verb. Anyway, I had a perfect solve in the forward rainbow order able to clear yellow and green in short order. It was then easy to pick out light blue next. Purple only became obvious to me once it was in front of me, but I described these as "featured on Let's Make a Deal". Because I remembered this from those: Host, Monty Hall, presented you with 3 doors. Once had a car, the second had a mid level price like kitchen appliances or furniture and the third had a booby prize or what they called a 'zonk'. These were often live animals of which the goat was most often used. I'm pretty sure the 3 door game was always the last game played and gave the two contestants who won the most first refusal to give up their winnings to play this game. They went on down the line until they got two contestants for the final game. Monty Hall would let each contestant pick a door and then play it up. If the unpicked door didn't have the car he would often reveal it and then try to buy the doors from the contestants. I think the switcheroo happened when he revealed the lesser prize to one of the contestants who then walked away, leaving the remaining contestant either getting the goat or car. He would then challenge them to switch or buy their door. You know, it's been too long since I've seen that show!! Anyway, the mathematical problem came back to me as I watched other TH-camrs solve this puzzle for today and explain the problem. Yes, you always switch when given that chance.
Did terrible on both Connections and Strands today, failed Connections ("Calm Down" category made me lose a lot of errors and forgot the Monty Hall problem featured Goats) and had to use lots of hints for Strands because of the very loose theme (I didn't realize it was pairs) Honestly I was kinda tired when I did them so I'll blame it on that lmao
I ABSOLUTELY tanked Connections today. Got 💙 because I figured they were ingredients for a drink and then just got in my own way after that. The highlight of Connections for me today was that you also recognized the Orange/Door Hinge Eminem reference 😂
I don’t know why, connections after years of playing. It has been increasingly hard for me to the point where I don’t even wanna play anymore. But I still do enjoy Wordle and crossword mini.
For some reason, milk-and-water (insipid) came to mind while playing Strands. I was briefly thrown off by that not being the intended pair, since soap and cereal is not a thing!
Followed from TikTok. I’m not usually as much of a TH-cam person but I’ll give it a try. I kept thinking of the word goad as well lol.
Welcome to the TH-cam side!

perfect reverse rainbow today and got the mini in 1:09

These types of strands are also my favorite

I had the exact same guesses and thought process as you on connection today lol
I did really well in connections, even though I’d never heard of the monty hall problem. Strands was also very easy today.
Did terrible on both Connections and Strands today, failed Connections ("Calm Down" category made me lose a lot of errors and forgot the Monty Hall problem featured Goats) and had to use lots of hints for Strands because of the very loose theme (I didn't realize it was pairs)

Rangsk perfect on strands today!
Kneel vs knelt again! I remembered you running into it in the regular crossword so I got it 😅
Had one mistake in connections today. Needed a hint to get started in strands, then found them all fairly easily.
i got the old fashion in about 10 sec its also one of my favorite drinks so easy for me

Strands: two hints
I ABSOLUTELY tanked Connections today. Got 💙 because I figured they were ingredients for a drink and then just got in my own way after that. The highlight of Connections for me today was that you also recognized the Orange/Door Hinge Eminem reference 😂
That reference had to be intentional!
@@Rangsk HAD to be!
Failed on connections. Couldn’t get the 4th word for yellow and green. Embarrassing how long I spent on it too! 😂
I don’t know why, connections after years of playing. It has been increasingly hard for me to the point where I don’t even wanna play anymore. But I still do enjoy Wordle and crossword mini.
Sometimes we just need a break from a game and that's ok!
For some reason, milk-and-water (insipid) came to mind while playing Strands. I was briefly thrown off by that not being the intended pair, since soap and cereal is not a thing!
I got purple first by seeing "goat and "door". Never heard of an "old fashioned" I got that category by dumb luck.
Honest question, why do you call it the Spanagram when it's called the Spangram?
Was initially confused by Strands.
Yeah I used a hint for the first word, but then I found the rest fairly easy.
Also fell for the rest/relax/chill/easy red herring, then 🟨🟩🟪🟦 only saw purple once two categories were gone, didn’t know blue so it just happened
Fell for the same red herring. 🟦🟪🟨🟩.
