Yeah, it says the writers can manipulate people like you easily into believing Grant is a lot more dangerous than he actually is. They've been doing it with Phil for years painting him like he's Al Capone yet he's never murdered anyone on his life.
I still like it, but I used to like a lot more back then. Back then I literally could not wait until the next episode, these days I can sit though an episode and not fully pay attention.
I was in prison with a real gangster I was just small time he was the nisest guy u would never think he lived that life quit kept his head down great guy
@epicmafia2046 Because he's right, it was implied. For Dennis to say Jack's guys thought Jack fancied him then there was clearly a feeling in his cycle that he was.
Hywel Bennett seems so different here to his character in Shelley. I'd previously put that down to premature ageing because of Bennett's alcoholism but no...he was just a versatile as fuck actor.
I always wondered what the link was between Andy and Johnny. It's obvious that Andy worked for Jack Dalton, but when Johnny came into the scene, it's as if they were past associates and that Andy somewhat worked below Johnny somehow. Jack and Johnny were both bosses of their own organisations, so not sure how Andy linked in with Johnny if he was already associated with Jack. Can someone explain?
Lmao Jack Dalton was terrified of Grant coming after him. That’s his true character. Great leader, great gangster, but he understands his limitations. Grant was an unstoppable force in those days, and Jack knew better than to get on the wrong side of him
😂😂😂😂 I'm sure he was joking. He could have Grant killed easily. It'd b no problem for him. Grant was scared of Jason Cox in early 90s n Dalton had much more clout than Cox did. Jack let this go with Phil coz the mitchell brothers always had alot of respect. Nothin to do with bein scared of Grant
He defo wasn’t scared of Grant lol Jack had immense underworld influence and Grant is just an eastend thug he’d have him killed off with ease if Grant tried anything to threaten him
Grant was a Parachute Regiment soldier, the perpetrators of Bloody Sunday and the Ballymurphy massacre, they are thugs for sure, thugs trained to kill, Dalton knows if he killed Phil he'd be ambushed somewhere at night by gunfire
I think Eastenders would be very entertaining if there was a jack dalton type of character in Eastenders now . Gavin has been sent to kill Phil by his boss 10 years ago which was the reason for gavin and Kathy faking their deaths . so the character would come to the square to do the job himself . And he would be out for revenge at gavin for failing to do the job and running away with Kathy . Gavin thinking it was safe to return doesn't realise that the boss is back in the square and that he is being hunted down . Kathy realises that the boss is in the square and tries to warn Phil that he is a wanted man

Dalton was the best gangster in eastenders. Great acting from hywel Bennett
LOVE that Dalton and all the mob were scared of/wary of Grant! Love Grant! Him vs Johnny was epic!
"Get us a cup of tea, would you, Errol?"
That killed me 😂🤣
Dalton was probably the most evil and ruthless gangster ever in EastEnders. Made Johnny Allen look small time.

Phil - Cos it ain’t a real gun.
What a brilliant line that is.

DJ Donnelly it is missing a gangster character or antagonist for the show. Vincent was meant to be the that but, they dwindled him down a bit.

Lol hes got tat confused look as though someones explaining to him theres a difference between daughter and grandaughter

LMAOOO he does

Jack Dalton or Johnny Allen. I'd say Jack was a typical gang/mafia boss type. Johnny was more rational.
Mr Opinionated Johnny Allen had his own empire. Vs the firm
Johnny got his hands dirty occasionally, while Dalton used henchmen

I can imagine Andy making Phil do something than that. Jack would hurt you, Andy would hurt your pride
