It really isn't that old in terms of their whole discography of albums. They had 3 albums and an EP before Sempiternal. So really Sempiternal sits around the middle of their discography.
I really hate that they despise their old songs so much. It’s like they want to forget they made those songs. They need to realize majority of their fan base is from suicide season and tiah. Yes the new stuff is good but throwing in diamonds or Chelsea smile or even it never ends shouldn’t be such a chore to them.
the majority of people is 10 years already not from the suicide season, believe me... though I am. most of the people on the concert were there for the first time after the posthuman. and amo was the best selling album of all when it was sold, and that's the spirit is the best selling now, so I don't think so
I mean, they don’t though. They did a whole festival centered around them last year. Save for their 2021 UK tour, pretty much every tour since 2018 has had a song from the first 3 albums on it. It’s like what he said: they just prefer the newer stuff. Oil’s even got the false chords from SS back; I saw them do Diamonds last October and it was basically identical to the album, save from Bryan Garris’ parts. They definitely had something against it during the TTS era, probably because Oli’s voice was kinda blown, but they’ve come around (or at least Oli has).
Really not a fan of their newer stuff, and I absolutely love count your blessings, suicide season and sempiternal! But it’s cool to see where these guys are now.
stop pissing on your old music. better songs than your recent stuff? not so much. Believing to have bettered themselves with every album, Oli enthuses that it’s not that the band don’t want to play their older material, but they struggle to fit those grunting gangbusters in alongside the likes of Drown, so will be exorcising those demons to their fullest, picking tunes they haven’t played in up to 15 years. In a strange twist of fate, however, it does feel as though actual heavy music is on the up again, and the new breed of abrasive acts like Pupil Slicer, Heriot and Wristmeetrazor wouldn’t sound out of place alongside those early BMTH records. Hey maybe consider the fact your opinion is not the "right" one? If they dont like their older stuff that much then they dont like it. What a shit attitude to have
I get you but it's not being high and mighty at all it's just him also saying they have come along way as musicians and oly as a singer . Matt doesn't like the old stuff but the rest do it's just preference
@@sir.muerte the compositions of their early music were primitive and an insult to the art of metal. It wasnt until There is a Hell that they learned to compose more intricate stuff.
Personally I feel the same like them, it's okay that they don't want to play them
It's just how artists are. Most artists usually cringe at their old work always thinking they could've done something better
@@NicBrandon I saw them in Sydney 2019, they did not do one song pre Sempiternal unfortunately.
Bmth is amazing
Sempiternal forever
What's me'al?
Matt is bloody amazing as a person but i cant help but feel like hes always lost 😂
Straight up lied about not using autotune. Their live performances are crammed with playback and autotune to hide Oli’s true vocals.
yeah, he really doesn't like the 'core' phase, sad, because it's my favourite
anything on theres a hell>>>
WHO DOESNT LOVE MICKEY PICKLES
Lol about Jordan…
The giga chad😂
He’s my wife’s cousin 👍
HAHAHHAHAHAHA I LOVE CHAD
7:47 and that's a lie.
Really not a fan of their newer stuff, and I absolutely love count your blessings, suicide season and sempiternal! But it’s cool to see where these guys are now.
But did he drivd it though
wont be surprised if they get shit for admitting its from pirates of the caribbean
It's been known from the beginning.
Matt Nicholls always look super pissed in interviews. Also I don't really respect the fact that he shits on their old musics.
Love BMTH tho
old songs are way better
Lakes of fire, dragons, stupid shit lol 😂😅😮😢
they hate their best shit what a surprise.. "better songwriters" = sound like any other band on the radio. amazing.
HOW DARE YOU. Suicide Season is the best song ever written ever.....of all time
You don't play old songs because you have abandoned your old fans
stop pissing on your old music.
better songs than your recent stuff? not so much.
Instead of acting high and mighty about your new stuff, try to reconsider why everyone around you keeps asking for the old stuff.
Maybe it's nostalgia. Maybe they appreciate your new work but still want to catch a bite of the old classics. Be humble for a minute
It’s a way for me to express myself in a way that I want to without it having to be a Bring Me The Horizon song,” he explains. “If I want to do a super-poppy song, I can go off and do that. At the end of the day, sometimes it might not make sense for us to write a song that’s got no guitars or isn’t heavy, because it won’t translate live or it won’t stand up against our other songs.
“I love being able to do something like Ed Sheeran, and then go off and work with a super-heavy band.- Oliver's one word with an interview with Kerran back in 2021
Believing to have bettered themselves with every album, Oli enthuses that it’s not that the band don’t want to play their older material, but they struggle to fit those grunting gangbusters in alongside the likes of Drown, so will be exorcising those demons to their fullest, picking tunes they haven’t played in up to 15 years.
In a strange twist of fate, however, it does feel as though actual heavy music is on the up again, and the new breed of abrasive acts like Pupil Slicer, Heriot and Wristmeetrazor wouldn’t sound out of place alongside those early BMTH records. But will we ever see Horizon ever go full-heavy again? again Oliver's words
Just stop asking for the older stuff
paradoxically your old songs were better ,no bad blood but for now your compositions are like high school musical soundtrack
It's actually the opposite
@@hanzouwu opposite of what ?
@@sir.muerte the compositions of their early music were primitive and an insult to the art of metal. It wasnt until There is a Hell that they learned to compose more intricate stuff.
I do occasionally listen to the old stuff, but seriously the song structures on especially the CYB and SS stuff are as if they were written by children..which they basically were lol. When you compare Pray for Plagues to the likes of "i dont know what to say" or "Crucify Me" you can see just how primitive that song is.
@@someoneelse7971 Plagues is great brutal deathcore as it should be, but I agree that There is a hell and Sempiternal are their best albums. It's been downhill ever since.
Damn this guy hates their only good songs
i think the entire band does
@@frederickkorth1481no, jordan did an interview years ago where he said it’s specifically Matt who doesn’t wanna play old songs anymore
But Oli loves em here is proof

Why did they sell out and become such a pop girly band is what I want To know
Harry maguire twin
I don't like how he says "we have better songs." To me and a lot of others, their first album contains THEIR BEST songs. Music is subjective.
So when people ask them to play old songs, it is because we as fans WANT to hear them. They are our favourite.
Matt is being lazy because he doesn't want to play fast
Not sure that he's being lazy. But he's surely being ignorant
The star is directly from the masonic square and compass. What a liar lol
nahhhh matts a bellend i mean sure you dont need to play pray for plagues and im glad you've came away from that but chelsea smile , diamonds aren't forever are still good songs.
such a shame, so much talent wasted. hope hes happy
