Thank you so much. I'm new to this and struggled last year with peppers. I have 3 started in the house and wondered what to do next, so this is perfect xx
Thanks Steve, lots of great info on peppers, I will leave mine another week before I prick them out. Need to make a heat tent as my house runs around 10 degrees most of time except the part we live in which has insufficient iight. Only have a very small grow light so see how they get on.Cheers again, Atb.
The chilli peppers are looking fabulous. Last year was awful as the growth was so painfully slow and then so many just didnt germ8nate. I had to keep on sowing and eventually got some good Lemon Drops but gave in and bought plug Cayenne. I never get to use all the chilli peppers so probably cut right down to 3 plants this year and just buy organic cayenne powder. What do you do with all the chilli peppers Steve? We have about 1 spicy meal each week but I put cayenne in soups and veg juices. I used to make a lot of chilli jam but it mostly ended up being gifted.
I grew lots of my pepper in pots last year in the greenhouse, watering was a bit of an issue, but they by far out gave a better crop then the pepper in the ground in the greenhouse. This year i plan on growing pepper outside, i can see issue with that but if we don't try we won't now
Up here in the north best they are better in pots in the greenhouse until well into summer, then they seem happy outside in a sheltered spot : all the best - Steve
Very interesting concerning temperature issues for peppers. One naturally assumes Pepper = Mexico = very hot. Does this apply to hot chilli peppers too? (I might have missed something!) Thanks for continuing these videos as you evolve your growing methods. ‘Food for Thought,
Aha, perhaps my plan to grow them on my south-facing window sills won't work, then. I was planning considering outdoor space, which is very scarce, and want to grow peppers to avoid the ones from the supermarket. Oddly enough, those are often moldy inside although they look perfect on the outside. Do you think it's still worth keeping my pepper seedlings if I use sheer linen curtains and keep the windows open all the time during summer (about the same summer temps as you, but fewer daylight hours now and more in summer)?
Windows open might be ok, they will live, but they won't thrive, I'm sure you will get a harvest though and probably a nice early one : All the best - Steve

These were sweet peppers Lynn, we only grow 3 chili pepper plants and they're not sown until February and they are only for chili jam
Oh, I wasnt listening properly then. I thought you mentioned Ring of Fire and assumed the rest.
