Onyxoutdoors I know, it does get warm in the spring. My family owns a beach house down there and we go quite a bit in the spring-fall. I've never heard of grouper being caught off of docs before, not even on the fishing reports. I've fished the docs around there and I can pretty much guarantee that there isn't any gags there.
Onyxoutdoors we usually have to go 20-50 miles offshore to get keeper gags and blacks. Good luck though fishing for them, If you do catch any on the docs let me know!
emilio cina the grouper are at the docks in the winter time because they move in from offshore to find warmer water. you wouldn't have much luck in the summer time. I fish these docks all the time
Thanks for a great video with your guides. Unlike those who criticize you, not once you have stated a specific hot spot in detail so I had to point that out. You and your guides simply stated where APPROXIMATELY but not SPECIFICALLY to fish and the bait to use. It makes me laugh as well while those who are putting you , the guides and tactics down on locating your own fishing holes, I would like to point out to them that with the technology of the internet , advanced gps / fish finders , solunar calendar and tide tables combined with temperature readings will tell a angler so much for a successful result targeting any species and location. Though like the good old days on secret locations, it really does not exist with the technology of today's time. So the ones that have posted the negative remarks below needs a bit of understanding and stop looking as it is strictly as the " Old School Ways".
FYI, your first fish, you lost it because you yanked the hook out of his mouth before he could swallow it. With circle hooks, you start reeling, no need to set the hook, but I'm sure you know that ;-) .... great video by the way!
+Joey Hodson So not impressed where you live, sorta dumb mentioning the location already that they stated in the video already. Another video could state that the video was recorded on the moon catching flying fish from mars if you would believe that. You are the type that would state something like " I live on the moon too !"
Its like hunting public land bordering private land. Landowners, not water-owners. And besides, they haven't been "cultivating" these fish, the grouper are just there for the winter
same reason why people who fish bass in structure fish such heavy gear, to pull em out of the structure, if u let the fish run any amount of drag they will dive into pylons n cut u off. each to their own i guess. no skill needed fishing at its best.
Stewart "accidentally discovered" this fishery when I told him about it... It's one thing to show the world your fishing spots, it's another thing to show them someone else's. Bad form Stewart.
Oh hush big stig. You are just a hater and drank jealous juice all your life. This is the best show out there hands dwn. Stop trying to be in the spotlight when you know darn well you didn't show him or even know Stewart .
@BillLawson, no one owns the water...and these fish are not being cultivated by HomeOwners. Need to learn the laws prior to making statements like this on an online forum. You sir, are ignorant.
lol! dont know if its just for the show or rating of the show but man george u exaggerate too much haha! ive caught those fish before and they fight pretty hard but come on lol
This is the video that ruined this local spot should have never aired something should just not be on TV too many disrespectful people out there You go there now and people are having their boats and home broken
Like the guy said,...."This is someone's backyard!" You don't go pick food out of someone's garden or fruit from someone's trees! The homeowners pay big bucks for these homes and don't appreciate these "Pros" coming in there and fishing out the areas the homeowners have cultivated for years. They need to take their lazy butts off shore and catch their own fish!
This is awesome I'm going to try some of these technics in North Carolina! Great show!
Onyxoutdoors lol good luck! That'll never happen in NC, it's too cold.
We have a place called Emerald Isle water color just like Florida, and Temperatures like Florida in early spring!

Stuff like that you have to keep it a secret! lol
Awesome Reels !!..What a Fight!! Powerful, Fast, Beautiful Fish... Thanks
Oh boy! This seems so fun!
Awsome grouper out there that is so cool that you can go right next to the docks and catch those monsters
I've fished this exact area and it is definitely great for grouper and snook.
Love your fishing tips
If that was my back yard I would be out there 24/7!!
emilio cina the grouper are at the docks in the winter time because they move in from offshore to find warmer water. you wouldn't have much luck in the summer time. I fish these docks all the time
Loved the video,
Great video
So you're tossing 80lb line with 3x strong hooks, blue catfish rod & yellowfin tuna size spinning reels.
Have been looking for some more grouper fishing tips!
That is super cool !
Will try this!
missing florida right now soooo bad!
Any fishing report for southwest Florida?
how many feet deep is that. where is the best spot at hernando beach?
What rods were you guys using when you were trolling for grouper.
Especially a boat that saves gas like a flats boat, this is one of the reasons im more into inshore than offshore!
Get a fishing kayak. Those things are bad
Michael Real
Into the blue
what are the combos that are used?
I see there's no Weight on the fishing pole and also what kind of line are you guys using..?
I realize this could be anywhere in the state but is this Madeira Beach intercoastal?
I can't believe it.
Hmmm that's some whoppin bigmouth bass pitchin...😉😆
Catch&Release, Yes !!

I live in n. ga. would love to do this! not enough money though!
I have caught some grouper and I get so excited I scream when I catch them lol you would laugh at me
what rod, reel and line were you guys using?
I just got me a spinfisher v 5500, what rob would be a good combo for it to do offshore and inshore fishing?
Andy Mendoza the spinfisher 4500 is the best reel for inshore just get a rod with a good backbone with some give and it will work good
Hey guys just curious how fast were you trolling in the second half of the show? It looked like you were moving along at a fair klik!
What time of year?
Can you both ski and troll at the same time at that speed? LOL!
Holy grouper that is a lot of huge fish
What type of year is it
What rod and reel are they?
I wish Texas coast had clear water like this
does anyone know where this is?
What rod was that

what do the dock owners have to say about your little excursions just wondering.
Nothing they can say sir. State waters as long as they do not board the dock itself, and i usually tell them just sit back and watch...
i would rather use lures with a bait caster. we do that in our harbors in japan with similar sized groupers.
Super awesome☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺
i live right there haha, down in st pete. good fishing!

Tampa Bay's Charity Fishing Team is an Asshole
And now the spots are going to get fished by everyone ruined
Got to Love that grouper bite
The article "Perfect and very interesting" The opening photo on You Tube Look like you are taking a leek on the bay, but i love you show.
Its like hunting public land bordering private land. Landowners, not water-owners. And besides, they haven't been "cultivating" these fish, the grouper are just there for the winter
first hookset why dont set with circles
aidan gates a circle hook is designed to set itself
Why is the tackle so heavy? Those fish can't be over 25 inches.
same reason why people who fish bass in structure fish such heavy gear, to pull em out of the structure, if u let the fish run any amount of drag they will dive into pylons n cut u off. each to their own i guess. no skill needed fishing at its best.
+David Divad and they fight way harder than any little bass
brave wilderness anyone.
pretty similar

Who's this? I'll give you the credit:)

Only if largemouth bass taste as good as those small groupers..
Don't set circle hooks slim Jim. Just reel

what are you jealous or something?

Ur exaggerated for one small fish I cought a 789 pound blue marlin and I was quiet
do u suffer from like severe depression?
Dont gill a fish unless you have to
Who the fuck gills a fish and expects it to survive any significant period after release.
He's putting his hand before the gills, which I perfectly fine for the fish. Before you talk make sure you know what your talking about.
Wow idiot....
I didn't write that...I know nothing about fish but to eat them...
They aren't holding the hills they are holding the gill plate that doesn't kill them
if he was gill holding those gags, he would not have any meat on fingers. get a clue. its just gill plate

Bill Lawson the fish don't have owners in public waters.
Nobody owns the water or the fish in it ....
Too much talk
