Great to hear from you @MichaelKennedy. What's the main thing that makes you want the smaller comped version? Size? Lessened felt recoil? Less weight? Really curious to hear feedback on the rationales for upgrading or trading in
@@LWRoad I’ll keep the full size, it’s very easy to shoot (for me) the trigger isn’t bad for a stock pistol (I like to leave my handgun triggers stock.). What appeals to me about the compact is: 1)the built in comp + the size/weight. The full size is great. I don’t have any comps on my handguns, but I could see this being VERY shootable and very good for long days in the chest rig in waders or on the trail while still being good bear gun. I really like the grip on the X-ten and I’m happy to hear it’s the same for this one.
I don't get the long grip module. Why not a shorter module and mag with the ability to add a sleeve on the full size mags when appropriate? The G29 has the right idea for carry, but it went a little too far. Adding the pinky extension to that model creates an ideal carry grip length.

I carry the G29 and have no issues with it. As far as the comp on this, it’s probably not really that noticeable. The g20 and g20c difference was minimal and if anything it made it more to clean. Comps are great for rifles but useless on pistols unless you have the Burger King 🙌
I really hope they offer it without the comp. I've got an X Ten that I love but it is long and heavy. I've got a 4" Smith M&P that would be great to carry if it was reliable.
The Xten comp is 32 oz the m&p 4.6" is 29 oz. I'll stick with my m&p makes a difference on your hip with longer barrel and after rebate I got it for $540 and she's got the scs holosun now. 🤠 nice gun though.
I personally don't have any issues with my gen 5 G20. I paid $700 out the door for it. I cannot imagine spending any more than that for a polymer framed style gun. I historically do not like glocks. But love my gen 5 G20.
I'm still hoping for a S&W M&P 40 M2.0 4" Compact / Glock 23 sized 10mm Auto compact pistol with a 4" barrel and 13+1 standard flush-fit magazine capacity. IMHO, the aforementioned S&W M&P and Glock pistols are the ideal CCW size, and they're very easy to shoot very well. S&W almost got the pistol size right with their M&P 10mm M2.0 4", but the full-size 15+1 capacity grip length was too long to be a true compact-sized CCW pistol. Otherwise, I'd absolutely go with the SA XDm Elite 3.8" 10mm Auto pistol you mentioned, before ever considering any generation of the Glock 29. Good things! 👍
Get rid of the comp and shorten the grip to a 10 or 11 round mag then have a 15 round mag with sleeve in box. Beef up the barrel and narrow the slide, then I'll buy one.
Let's reduce the barrel length and the sight radius...now you're thinking! Not a compensator but a we can't be bothered to really do it at that high price. I wouldn't buy the M&P either but it at least has effective barrel length, long sight radius and a real multi chamber compensator.
I think until you shoot and field test you won't know. Your springfield elite compact is a proven choose until you can get your hands on a a XTen Comp.
A short barrel 10mm with a comp that would make the round even more anemic? To me, the point of 10mm is maximum power. I'd rather go for a long barrel, with maximum fps like the G40 10mm. The long slide makes it a very mild shooter. This Sig makes no sense to me.
Yep, I was discussing this with a close friend and mentioning the same thing, that with the 5" bull barrel the 5" version is already a very soft shooting 10mm. This is one of the reasons I'm very curious to hear why people would want to upgrade or change to the XTEN Comp
@@LWRoad If you do get one in to compare, maybe borrow Chuck's G40 to compare the recoil impulse and fps. I'd be interested in seeing that comparison with this Sig.
I'm honestly not too hyped about the "comp" thing. More than anything else, I really want to see them push the 320 modularity with the XTen. Knowing how particular we can be in the 1cm community, I feel like they're missing a chance to really shit on the Glock offerings. :/
If it were ANY other gun manufacturer, I'd be wanting this. But I will just stick to Glock. Best to keep everything the same across all calibers on the same platform whether it be micro/slim, sub compact, compact, and full size.
As far as the weight goes. Hunters that are going to use this pistol for self-defense. Against Wildlife would probably appreciate that extra weight for more rapid follow up shots.
Something about Sig handguns don’t sit well with me esthetically. I think they’re kinda ugly lol. The FN 510 Tac is by far the best 10mm pistol but I understand that $1100 price point is pretty rough. I’m $1400 into my edc build now and all I’ve put on my 510 is the Holosun 507c
No slide comps for me. Cons. Shorter barrel is less needled weight and less velocity. Slide has more powder residue blow back dirty slide. I own the Sig XTEN it shoots just fine no slide comp gimmick needed. Slide
A 10mm with a barrel this short is pointless. It might as well be a 40sw in a smaller frame. Only fanboys will want this and think that they have a powerhouse when they dont. A 10mm is only worthwhile in a 7" barrel or more.
In 2023, with all mankind's combined firearm knowledge available, Sig USA managed to build a short barrel 10mm (.40 s&w) polymer striker-fire that still has a high bore axis, inconsistent reliability in adverse conditions/weak ammo, the ability to fire when dropped or even if jostled a little, and a trigger system poached from the steyr m-series pistols. No I probably won't ever buy from sig usa.
😂 In 2023 with all the firearm technology we have Glock, that hasn't changed a damn thing since their first gun, including plastic sights and a 2x4 grip. Thank God for the aftermarket where you can just replace the whole darn thing and no one would even know you were **** enough to buy a Glock. 😂
The 320 stories I’ve heard have kept me from wanting to buy one of their handguns. I’ll buy Sig optics but the thought of being accidentally shot by a malfunctioning 10mm handgun is horrific lol. Imagine catching the Cheddar Bob treatment from a 10mm hollow point Nosler or an Underwood extreme defender. No thanks!!!!!
You have sig in your name, lol I’m sure your unbiased. The story keeps coming up because it keeps happening. Even sig won’t allow the platform on some of there own events.
The Glock 20 gen 5 is still very relevant! The SIG is ok but no Glock has ever failed me or any of my friends or family that own and shoot Glocks. Sig Sauer better hope they don't have any "accidental" discharges with their new 10mm. because it's happened with smaller calibers of Sig Sauer pistols like the .40sw as well as .9mm.
@@michaelkennedy996 Most if not all of the gen. 3,4,and 5 glocks are stone reliable. If they weren't the plethora of LEO's wouldn't carry them. Mostly Glock 22's in .40sw or Glock 17's in 9mm. Get rid of the comp and shorten the grip to a 10 or 11 round mag then have a 15 round mag with sleeve in box. Beef up the barrel and narrow the slide, then I'll buy one.
Now bring a Legion version…
My only complaint about this (I ordered one today) is there's so few holsters for it!
Wouldn’t a P320 X carry holster fit it?
i like this pistol but does it have the same problems as the p320 where it goes off on its own as i would carry this if i got it???
yep
Good stuff sir! Wonder when this will be available for purchase?
No idea, there is no sku yet, hopefully soon.
Let's reduce the barrel length and the sight radius...now you're thinking!
Not a compensator but a we can't be bothered to really do it at that high price.
I wouldn't buy the M&P either but it at least has effective barrel length, long sight radius and a real multi chamber compensator.
Nice gun, but Ill keep my SW 10mm. And yet......still no DASA's with decocker the size of a P365 / Hellcat. Can someone please make one.
I think until you shoot and field test you won't know. Your springfield elite compact is a proven choose until you can get your hands on a a XTen Comp.
are you having the FTF issues the regular Xten has with the xten comp?
Still waiting for a G29 gen5
Same
Now that I might have to but, if I see one :)
I'm familiar with the G40, it's softer than the SIG imho @@Tron2pointOh
Let's put a 4 cylinder in a Lambo, while we're at it!
That's not how it works bud
The .40 doesn't match the fully loaded 10mm out of a short barrel, the 10mm still wins.
If they gave it a compact grip id grab it as an edc but the 16 round grip is to long for me to conceal comfortably
I hate Sig as a company but I may have to swallow my pride for this pistol
I’ve got my order in, looking forward to thoroughly testing it like I did with the original XTEN
Very very interested!!
Can we convert our current ten model to a comp?
Yes sig will probably release the parts. Cheaper to just buy a whole gun.
How much it cost 💲?
Insert Ron Swanson here "I know more than you"
I'm honestly not too hyped about the "comp" thing.
How much?
As far as the weight goes. Hunters that are going to use this pistol for self-defense. Against Wildlife would probably appreciate that extra weight for more rapid follow up shots.
Wrong. Hunters would rather use their rifle to hunt or defend with, and shave ounces from secondary things like a sidearm.
@@MidnightSvnnaw, you’re the wrong one here
Something about Sig handguns don’t sit well with me esthetically. I think they’re kinda ugly lol. The FN 510 Tac is by far the best 10mm pistol but I understand that $1100 price point is pretty rough. I’m $1400 into my edc build now and all I’ve put on my 510 is the Holosun 507c
I’m betting on my Glock every time. I don’t trust Sig’s reliability.
I carry a Shadow Systems so yes to your comment in a round about way. Still have my Glock 20 too
I want one for my bear paws 😂
YES
At that price, what "people" are they talking about?
Steel frame 10mm pistols are heavier than any polymer frame 10mm pistols.
Thanks captain obvious
@@rvroutdoors2131 I use my real name on social media, what is yours, what are you hiding.
kinda look like Toby from the Office
Wish they Made different colors
Almost 900 apples
I HOPE THYESE DO NOT GO OFF BY THEMSELVES LIKE THE SIG 9MM STILL DO.
The cons you mention are all negligible considering that most people are going to carry the gun when they go hunting or hiking out in the backcountry.
Looks at company…then looks at price tags….yeah imma jus get a quality 1911 in 10m and be done 💀
No slide comps for me.
Cons.
Shorter barrel is less needled weight and less velocity. Slide has more powder residue blow back dirty slide.
I own the Sig XTEN it shoots just fine no slide comp gimmick needed.
Slide
Save money get the gun magna-ported.
A 10mm with a barrel this short is pointless. It might as well be a 40sw in a smaller frame. Only fanboys will want this and think that they have a powerhouse when they dont. A 10mm is only worthwhile in a 7" barrel or more.
Fn 510 baby
I need one
Your foreign made Springfield xdm ain’t as cool as you think.
If you say so
3.8 you just cut the nuts off the 10mm.
Fair enough, I have one on order and plan to throughly test it like I did with the original
Maby this one 320 wont shoot people on “accident”.
Oh man, I haven't heard any reports of the 10mm's doing that but yes, that's scary
This nonsense just won’t die with TH-cam idiots keeping it alive
Hahahahahahaha. Let it go man. Move on. This is a tired disproved story , but stay with it
You have sig in your name, lol I’m sure your unbiased. The story keeps coming up because it keeps happening. Even sig won’t allow the platform on some of there own events.
Only a few people can afford these. Not worth it.
Yeah it's interesting I've not heard of a single incidenct with a 10mm 320 yet. Curious if there are any that have happened.
Reliability is paramount, that’s a great endorsement for the Glock.
Absolutely @@michaelkennedy996
@@michaelkennedy996 Most if not all of the gen. 3,4,and 5 glocks are stone reliable. If they weren't the plethora of LEO's wouldn't carry them. Mostly Glock 22's in .40sw or Glock 17's in 9mm. They may be ugly to some people but they are most definitely reliable and I would much rather have reliability over beauty!
@@jeff40 100% agreed
I don’t understand people making videos of guns they haven’t even handled yet. I hate a review where they don’t do a lot of shooting. And one where the gun isn’t there is pointless.
P320s known for discharges. Now your going to shoot yourself with 10mm. No thank you Sig!!! Discontinue these 320 modular firearms.
That was user error
Hahahahahahahahahahsha
I probably would've bought one if they didn't have such a bad reputation.
@@voltaire5427 you can’t believe all of the rumor mongers that just love badmouthing something they know nothing about. But you do need 100 percent confidence in your daily carry

This is not a “review” of you haven’t even seen the gun. Unsubscribed.
This video was made before it released
Maybe they need to work on the guns that fire when dropped . Before i kiss sig ass i will wait till the law suits are over.
Hahahahahaha. Try to stay current. Passing on old long past rumors don’t do anyone any good
WE WILL SEE.@@dsig7776
