Dragon Ball Z Budokai 4 Cell PERFECTLY rearranges Super Vegeta's spine

- This is a Tool-Assisted Showcase/Superplay (TAS - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tool-as...) of the upcoming "Dragon Ball Z Budokai 4" version 0.6 Project.
In the first match, Vegeta had "Tenacity" capsule equipped, which allowed him to recover some Ki every time he got hit.
In the second one, he had "Dende's Healing" instead, which subtracted Ki from him every time he got hit (in exchange for some damage reduction).
The difference is blatantly obvious! lol

The "DBZ Budokai 4" mod Project is a fan-made modification of the original "DBZ Infinite World" on PS2, running on PCSX2 emulator.
It features new gameplay, fixed fatigue system, new Comeback System, new costumes, new characters, new stages, new transformations, new capsules, new moves, new movepools, new inputs, new Specials, new RTFs and many other Quality-of-Life features and improvements.
This Project was born from the collaboration between NIM and Dr. Doppietta, with the partecipation of other modders like SamuelDoesStuff, MetalFrieza3000 and ASTR47 / Trevon1344.

It took a lot of work, but NIM managed to fix his voice when he's in perfect forms. ;)

1:37 And this one sequence was the first time I ever realized that the combo Cell does in his ultimate is from his beatdown of Vegeta after dodging Final Flash. Thanks Doppietta.

Budokai one Cell was really broken, the final battle with him was difficult as hell.
Only in budokai one we have buffed cell transmormation similar to trunks ultra ssj, it's a shame that others game didn't replicate this ideea ,since then cell became my favorite villian in all dragonball .

Me vs social life
One thing that always bugged me about this game (which i know cant be changed) is cells ultimate. He never did spirit bomb in the series, i know he gets it cos he has Gokus cells, but I think a kamehameha attack would have suited more, eg the kamehameha used Vs gohan but obviously it would work in his favour

Ciao Dr. Dopoietta, non è da molto che seguo il tuo progetto (un paio di mesi forse) ma mi ci sono affezionato, soprattutto perché ho notato tutto il lavoro e la passione che ci mettete tu e il tuo "staff" (da quel che ho capito siete in 4/5? Deve essere veramente difficile essere così pochi...)
Ho provato l'open beta v0.5 e sembra funzionare tutto bene (ho provato la beta su cellulare grazie a AetherSX2).
L'unica cosa che ho notato è un piccolo bug con i costumi (una piccolezza sia chiaro...):
Premo la freccetta per cambiare costume e ogni tanto "va a vuoto", cioè in sostanza il costume non cambia. Questo problema in realtà sembra capitare solo con il primo costume di Goku, un po' strana come cosa🤔... È una finezza ma spero possa essere d'aiuto.
Oltre a questo avrei qualche domanda:
1)Generalmente mi sembrava di aver notato che la tipica mossa finale con cutscene ha la combinazione "↑E", mentre ho notato che Broly e c18 (mi sembra siano gli unici 2) hanno la mossa finale con cutscene con combinazione "E+G".
Mi chiedevo: È una scelta voluta? Se no, avete intenzione di invertire le combinazioni di tasti per rendere il tutto più omogeneo e intuibile?
(Anche questa è una finezza ovviamente...)
2) Riguardo a Cell:
Perché solo la forma base può fare l'esplosione solare? Per questioni di bilanciamento? O perché nell'anime effettivamente poi non usa più quella mossa nelle trasformazioni successive (anche se probabilmente ne sarebbe in grado)?
3) Riguardo a Vegeta:
Nella presentazione della v0.5 hai scritto che il big bag attack con combinazione "↓E" poteva esser fatto da super vegeta in poi, ma io riesco a farlo anche con il super Saiyan, è voluto oppure no?

Siamo in 4 nel team B4 Project, ma solo NIM modifica il gioco, io faccio da playtester, Sam si occupa dei costumi e degli stage, mentre MF3k si prende cura delle voci. Quindi dobbiamo tutti aspettare NIM, è lui il cuore pulsante del progetto.
Il bug può essere dovuto o all'emulatore, o al touchscreen. Da controller è un problema che non ci è mai capitato. Ma grazie di avercelo riportato comunque! :D
Sì, su alcuni personaggi, la Mossa Definitiva è stata rimappata, perché hanno 3/4 Super e usarle con "E+G" è scomodissimo. Prima o poi le rivedrò tutte e cercherò di renderle omogenee in tutto il cast. ;) È già in programma, ma non so quando.
"Solar Flare" è solo sulla forma base di Cell perché aveva uno slot Super vuoto, mentre tutte le sue altre forme no. E sì, anche il fatto che l'abbia canonicamente usata solo in quella forma ha contribuito sulla nostra scelta. Il bilanciamento è un motivo minore, però in effetti Cell super perfetto col "Solar Flare" sarebbe fin troppo forte da affrontare: pensa che già così lo stiamo ribilanciando perché è troppo forte. lol
Vegeta in SSj1 non dovrebbe avere accesso al BBA (inteso come Super, non la Ult), forse stai usando Majin Vegeta? O forse NIM ha sbagliato... Comunque, non è voluto ma non è neanche un problema. Grazie di avercelo fatto notare!
Figurati, questo è un lavoro fatto esclusivamente per passione, quindi è tutto gratis! Goditi la Demo, nei prossimi mesi rilascerò la versione 0.6 del progetto e, credimi, è PIENA così di novità. ;) Ciao!

Sì probabilmente alcune cose non coincidono perfettamente per via dell'emulatore, o ancora più probabilmente perché ho fatto casino a mettere io i file nelle cartelle... non so usarlo proprio bene e mi sono un po' arrangiato.
Oltretutto ora che ci penso io non trovo Majin Vegeta...🤔
Vabbè è evidente che ho sbagliato qualcosa...

After some play testing the demo I got some thoughts: 1. If Android 18 fights 17 and uses her ULT the game freezes. 2. The CPU is strong even on lower settings. 3. The read me says combos can chain into grabs but I could not perform them in combos. 4. The game feels off.
I don't know if my muscle memory of og B3 is messing with me but the game feels odd. Maybe I'm just used to waiting for the CPU to lose its ki then I strike? Hard to say. I enjoyed the costumes and little things added to characters but I can't say I had fun. (It feels like a old game thing more so than the mod if that makes sense)

1) This is known and due to a error on my end, because we removed non-playable characters without realizing that A18's Ult *needs* Krillin model to work.
2) IW vanilla's CPU has always been relentless, we didn't modify it one bit. :)
3) It means that now you can use a grab mid-combo, but not all grabs can be followed up by other attacks (bar Supers ofc). So are really tight, try with others.
4) It can un be understandable. B4 mod plays quite differently from regular Budokai titles and, with a lot of new features, it can be "overwhelming" to play it if you don't properly know how.
Try to watch some of my B4 videos and get the hang of one specific character. Goku is always good, otherwise Cell is a good pick as well. Hell, even Broly, Vegeta & Piccolo are all pretty great, so really, pick your favourite and stick to it until the game doesn't feel "off" anymore. :)
@Dr._Doppietta I've found success with Broly. He seems to be the only character who's moves lead into each other. (For me) Except that one attack where he flies upward then slams down. The game is built a little to meta for my tastes.
Things I loved were the costumes. Seeing Teen Gohan's filler Kung fu outfit made me smile. Personally I would like to see more of that and an AI adjustment. (They are way to aggressive)
@@WolfFistProductions Broly's "E+G" RTF, "Gigantic Slam", is intended to be used as a finishing blow, especially from the back. ;)
We have a lot more costumes planned, whenever Sam and any other modder manages to provide 'em to us. AI adjustments were considered, but NIM found out it's too long and complex. Maybe after v1.0 comes out, we'll come back to it.
@Dr._Doppietta I understand. Best of luck, and I look forward to seeing what else comes out from this mod. I'll keep practicing, and I look forward to more obscure costume choices. Edit: Super 17 needs a nerf, lol. His attack, where he rapid punches you (I think it is a grab), is way too fast and starts up like an ultra. His CPU is dangerous lol.

Is the Ult dependant of the transfromation, hence why it didn't go to full effect on the first match?
