Hey everyone, just wanted to throw out there. Foxhole is a great game and I highly recommend it. If people wanted a deeper dive into some of the issues that faces logistics players I'd be happy to oblige with a future video on the topic
I've never played Foxhole but I've been looking into it and I noticed this problem even before this strike. I always thought the game could be improved so much if they implemented a factory-simulation type mechanic for the logistics, like Factorio or Satisfactory. Then you'd be able to grab all the players that actually enjoy those types of games, and the race to automation has real consequences on which side can produce more. The logistics players would be able to focus on optimization and automation, instead of menial work.
It'd be nice if these factories can also be hit by enemy attacks that sabotage the automation, creating a disadvantage for that team due to the lack of consistent supplies.
@@matthewbadger8685 I hadn't played the game, so I assumed that this was already implemented in the system they already have, but if not, this is also a big must.
I get this vibe that this war will end up devolving into a slow and brutal slog fest. I can personally see both sides resorting to only really supplying bolt actions and other cheap weapons to just keep up with demand.
For everyone wondering what mods he's using: Xcalibre colonial models GLD Red dawn Brodie helmets Purple lasers Coloured UI icons Purple cursor Wulfgangs sandbags for truck Red dawn vehicles Huberts death korps of krieg (warden only and outdated) I think he's also using some of the outdated weapon mods either by Rebel Ben or by BritEmpire idk which ones
I'd like to mention that there's also a cap on how many people can do logistics. See, each factory can have only up to four orders of four of one item type at a time. So, if four people are using the same factory at the same time, no one else can place an order in.
Salutations from a Fellow LOGI member! Just want to say, fantastic video! Love your presentation and camera work along with the voiceover, as well as a great summarization of the situation. Honestly I could see quite a few videos on foxhole in general in this style. Love it! Union Solidarity Forever!
The only solo logi that aren't affected by the grind are 200IQ individuals who literally spend all their resources to make their job of getting resources more efficient. However, when you have less experienced players make a 'resource base', it blocks veteran builders from making an efficient one.
They should add an A.I. train that will colletct scrap from builded A.I. mines, and then transport it all to the oain point in Bmats, fuel and powder, where players will take them and make more complicated materials to build transport and etc.
okay i have one word Trains like no joke if we could get player made railways setup with trains that can somehow bypass the sector load times to transport logi and armor to major hubs it would be insane just imagine seeing the huge ass trains you can find on youtube with tanks and artillery on the back just going thorugh the country to get between sectors and get closer to the front citys could have trainstations and so on ofc there would need to be mechanics to keep these bad boys from not being too close to the front it would create awsome posibilities for players to go behind enemy lines and blow up railways to slow them down and so on
As someone that just discovered the game and wanted to jump in because I dig logistics, after doing one fuel run I already quit the game and shelved it for a future revisit. Having to click fuel 67 times while wasting a lot of time doesn't feel fun, let alone trying to find refineries and factories the first time you check the minimap. Hauling scrap through 3-4 regions isn't fun.
The way fuel is normally done is through private queue fuel, refine the salvage, then grab from private queue, if you shift left click you pull 3 out instead of 1 :)
Or there should be some kind of reward, like the possibility of upgrading your truck. Like the materials you pick up on the side of the road are pretty much pointless right now, this could be used by logi players to upgrade their trucks or something similar. Right now it really is a second job, with absolutely no reward.
the pull out time of crates and itens is horrendous, at a close distance you spend as much time pulling crates to your truck or container as you spend travelling there, and the resources you delivered are often exhausted by the time you go back if the fighting is intense enough, there was a huge increase in variety of itens needed, now medics need 5! items to function, thats 1/3 of the truck to supply just 10 medics, i often see hundreds of itens on ports, but no one ever pulls them cause it would just take too damn long, not to mention the public fuel issue, i think increasing factory times os cost and removing the pull times would help some.
II once tried solo Logi and it was hell. I completely understand. In my opinion, the worst are the waiting times at the factories. There are about six trucks standing there and everyone is trying to spam T-shirts and the waiting time to finish is incredible, for a little bit of what is produced.
The way I solo logi is using multiple factories, or having something else to do while the stuff is cooking. If you have a PROPER resource base, you can scroop while the stuff cooks. And what I mean by 'proper' is having a silo to guard the resources between trips to the factory. Additionally, going around collecting oil or refueling idle mines helps. That said, you end up stuck in an infinite loop. If you didn't cook your gsups for the day, you don't get to go to the front. Unfortunately, sometimes the front comes to you because people leave gaps for partisans to get to the back lines.
I haven't actually played this game yet, but, from what I've seen, logistics just seems inherently tedious. I think for any long-term solutions more automation will need to be implemented. Increasing automation kind of goes against the idea that everything in the game is player-made, but I think it would probably be best for the game in the long run. In lots of survival/building games, you start with a hammer or a pickaxe, but then you could upgrade to a machine that collects resources for you while you go do something else. That seems less tedious than smacking a pile of scrap for 20 minutes.
@@TheBlazingWolfie It was a lot easier to feel like you were integral for sure. It had big issues with keeping ai up etc because of the low pop however and I do prefer it over on S1 now that my regi has actually thrived over there

So, the devs in the 2021 devlog stated there WOULD be a logi update, however, they never responded to logi nor the concerns which have been raised by the community at large :)
@@TheBlazingWolfie I see how it is. I did read the dev blog but my concern really is I just invested money into the game. This is only my second war it would really be upsetting if I came into this game while it’s on a decline. Also worry about future players like myself having bad experiences.
This will be the longest war in foxhole history, overshadowing even war 83. Because as the logistic lines are laid out very poorly this war (something I think was the developers silently thumbing their nose at us), once either side reaches a certain point in their advance their logi has to cross too much land to supply anything, and they will be pushed back.
Doesn't repairing cap at 5 men or did they change that? I also liked to do Logi for about 1/3 of my time in a war to help but it was been a little over a year since I touched the game due to what you said they keep adding more meaning we need more materials and need to make more stuff so I jumped off a few month before L.O.G.I was formed. I want to get back into it (as a Colonial) but I find it hard to do so seeing how just when I wanted to come back this stuff went down. That and I would like to help and be part of group for interaction and wanted to do LOGI for a war because I found it interesting and wanted to relearn and support to get back in the swing of things. I did however see what y'all laid out and support what y'all are doing they have done a few things (still didn't mention the letter almost 2,000 people signed) and hope things go well If the war is still early I might give it a go if not I will wait until the next one.
I think the biggest problem to me arent scrap, its componets and their uses. Componets are curently THE META logi material becuse you need it for tanks, cars, arty, AT weapons, concreate, stacionery weapons and even more. Curently in war (on warden side) componet fields are striped out so fast that solo logis that are not in regiment can not get componets for their tank or someother thing. And also their mining rate is absolute shit (you need sledge for them and mine 5 times slower then scrap and have 20:1 ratio for 1 Rmat and avarge tank costs 150).
I completely agree, scrap is currently less of an issue than say, components are. Components are constantly fought over and hoarded by the larger clans throughout the duration of a war, so smaller clans and solo logi players are often times excluded from it, even though components have the highest quantity exchange rate of any resources whilst also having the highest cost to produce anything with
Bruh, even regiments are having trouble getting components. Even when I actively camp a field, the chances I get enough to justify the trip is low. I need freighters full to build up defenses to concrete. I feel like a building update could indirectly help with the resources problem. The problem right now is that the building system actively punishes you for making a bunker too big, thus forcing you to make more bunkers to compensate. Howitzer garrison AI is not shared across the base, so that means you have to make a minimum of three howitzer garrisons per bunker if you want artillery protection. I'd like interior walls that would break up a bunker into separate sections, each with their own health pool. The benefit this has over trenches is you can share howitzer and AT AI. The disadvantage is that it causes a single bunker to cost more gsups, depending on how many sections it has. But that's the thing: You won't need to build as much, because now you don't need as many howitzers, and don't need to build additional bunker sections. While it will cost the same amount of gsups, it won't cost as much bmats or components.
