    Please correct me if I'm wrong. In SENSE multiple phase array coils will under sample data causing aliasing. The prescan coil sensitivity mapping will allow for the aliased tissue to be properly represented in K Space and then this can be combined with the original data that was sampled as well. Or another way to say it, basically the original (under)sampling of data that causes aliasing is sampled and then what isn't sampled wraps, this wrapped tissue's exact location in the image can be figured out from the coil sensitivity mapping done in the prescan.
