  • Our tribute to one of our huge sources of inspiration, Planxty. We always wanted to do this particular one but it never made sense until we got the sound of the pipes in. Thanks to Middelfart Lokal TV for lending us these recordings.

Everybody follows Paul Brady's version...which I LOVE, However!!! This is fantastic!! Your own spin. Great whistling (from a whistle and flute player) Beautiful vocals and harmonies (from a lead vocalist) and great fiddling and guitar! (Yeah, that too...😂😂) To hell with learning Uillian Pipes! 😂😂 On to Octave mandolin!! 😊😊

You're great together. LOVE the flute - hate bag-pipes. Really enjoy your music. < California

Thank you for taking the time to share your comment. There is no flute in this version though. Or bagpipe. It's tin whistle and uillean pipes. The pipes are a big part of our version here so maybe you would prefer a great version by Paul Brady who made in of the definitive versions of this song.

@@Armunk Thanks for the clarification. Personally, I love all wind instruments, except the bag-pipe. I'm absolutely amazed at getting any response to my post. Again, thank you.

    Andy Irvine should be proud

I hope you meant Paul Brady. Paul's 1972 solo recording of Arthur Mc Bride in the famous now defunct Embankment, Tallaght, Dublin is in my opinion the classic, definitive recording of this song.

We are mixing both versions here with inspiration from both Paul and andy and hopefully both would be proud of leaving this legacy
