I’m glad I waited and got this version. Defintely better looking. Yes I don’t know what they were thinking by not lining up coin door with the artwork. Defintely will be doing the kong mod to get the trilogy and battle pod. I really don’t mind the riser I definitely will change out the marquee. I really wish they did a damn missle command cab with volcano buttons and trackball. I converted my Atari 12-1 to one just because arcade 1up dropped the ball on a classic!
Yeah, I really like this version better since the artwork goes down onto the riser. Seems like Arcade 1up always drops the ball on all their cabinets some where on each cabinet.
They sure need to. I ordered a new marquee already. I just received the tubes that go on the monitor down to the control deck today. I will be doing a video on that over the weekend.
@@arcadetalk Gotcha I’ll Check with you Here I’m Wondering if There will be A Big Discount May 4th all the StarWars stuff be Real Reasonable then and Black Friday
Holy crap I didn’t even notice the coin door being mispositioned. Clearly they had specs for the old coin door that didn’t light up or just an oversight completely. That’s inexcusable and I cannot believe this is the first review that pointed this out. Thank you so much!
Your welcome! You are right, it is inexcusable. They charge us all that money and they cannot get everything right. Then if you want to fix it to get it right you have to spend more money and more of your time.
The black extends below the molded coin door as well. The black space on the cabinet isn't directly where the coin door is supposed to go, it's above and below it to represent the space of the coin door on the original cabinet since the coin door on the Star Wars arcade in 1983 was so long. They could've made their molded coin door more accurate to fill that entire space, but instead opted to make it the same size as their other faux coin doors on other Arcade1Up cabinets and keep the black space above and below it where the original coin door would fill in. In any case, it's not that it is mispositioned, it's that the original coin door was much longer.
I know it had a extended coin door and I talked about it in this video. So, I know the extended black space is suppose to be there under the the coin door and I love that. But there is not suppose to be black above the coin door. I looked up old Star Wars arcade cabinets and none of them had the black above the coin door. Like I said in the video, it is no big deal.
Can’t wait for mine to turn up in England. Was very expensive but what price to pay to feel young again! And you summed it up perfectly, gameplay 10 out of 10 and at the end of the day it’s all about the gameplay and how it feels.
@@arcadetalk Its arrived. I posted a video on my Shorts feed. Glad it’s here as I had my doubts it would ever turn up! Just watching original Star Wars now then I’ll build it tomorrow!
Looks good man. I'm glad people were able to pick up this cabinet again because it's a great addition to anyone's arcade. You probably dont even have to be a star wars fan to enjoy it. Oh I wanted to mention to you me and a couple other guys are doing a live stream tomorrow night just to BS about arcades and old games in stuff. There's a link in my community page if you're interested. The guys I'll be with are really cool I think you would like them.
Yeah, it is a great cabinet. I just order a new marquee for it so that should come in next week. I will have to head over to your community page to check it out.
I've seen vacuform bezel "tubes" available from a seller on Etsy. Comments say they're rather flimsy and should be reinforced with a hard foam, but would probably look great on the machine
This Arcade 1Up Star Wars is a success and hopefully they can produce more successful Arcade 1Up With the new cabs coming. I don't have the room for another cab and if I did I would get this one. Thanks for the great video.
They did a great job on this one. I hope going forward they do the side and front art like this one. Makes it look like a one piece. One of the best ones they have made to date for sure.
Nice observation again! The product box clearly shows that they mispositioned the coin door during production. What an egregious oversight by Arcade1Up. People say “Oh it’s not a big deal…” but when you’re dealing with arcade replicas and paying $650… yes it is a big deal. These things should at the very least be aesthetically perfect even if they use crappy controls, buttons, and particle board.
I totally agree with everything you said. You going to charge all that money and have things wrong. You know they knew about that coin door. Once I would like to put one together and it be perfect. But this is why I will not buy another one.
Nice review ! Do you have a video on your mr do?
I do have some videos when I was modding it.

@@arcadetalk it’s sooo obvious too. They must get some new management in that department 😆

@@arcadetalk so did I but I opted for the Vader one from Szabos . Must get the trilogy and battle pod on this thing !
All of those would look awesome. The Vader one does look really good. I thought about getting that one.
Awesome I’ve Been Waiting for you to Do this 💯
Took me a while but I finally got it done. Thanks for checking it out!

Wow! Look at them. They look stunning. I highly value your opinion T, because you are always honest……
I appreciate that! I try to be honest on these. That is the only way you can help someone make a decision.
I’m glad to hear your thoughts. I always enjoy your reviews.

@@arcadetalk Welcome, Brother!!
O wow I did Not notice the artwork stopped way before the coin door.
I didn't either until right before doing this video. Another Arcade 1up goof up.
Bezels are available . people are using 3D printers to construct the parts .. ordered mine yesterday
This is actually one of the bezels I like from them. I did purchase some tubes though to go on it. I will do a video on it once them come in.
Thank you for sharing a nice video. Have a nice day.

awesome review man nicely done
Much appreciated!
Nice Review
Glad you enjoyed it!
The most disappointing part with this 2.0 version is they could've made the cabinet one peice instead of using a riser.
I know right and they wonder why their sales are down. I was pushing for a one piece. But it does look nice with the art going down onto the riser.
you are really good:)
Thank you! I try to be honest about it.
I hope that is not on too many of them. That is too bad
All the ones I have seen so far are like this.
So it will still give you the effect that your in a cockpit
It really doesn't. It does not have any of the effects around the monitor to make it feel that way. I did buy some after market stuff to help.
