This is my favorite governor/politician after Peter Obi. In fact, if there was going to be any elections for a Northern President, I will be on the front lines voting for Babangana Zulum.

Literally the best governor in Nigeria. Took special interest in watching this guy since 2020 covid
& he has been outstanding, he's not one to play politics with the lives of his people, genuinely
concerned about the social welfare & betterment of his people, haven't heard of looting / missing funds
which is highly prominent with Nigerian governors and ex- Borno govs. I duff my heart to a leader of leaders,
although he's wrong about the taxes but I understand why as there's high poverty & less Industries/
economic growth & a much less propensity to do large scale commerce (asides Kano) in the north
especially the north east, owing to Insecurity & high illiteracy, hence monies going to this region will drop
significantly if this bill is passed .
    (edit)
Borno has been plagued with heartless governors in the past from both apc & pdp that would rather steal
to acquire private jets & luxury cars & houses & use such monies to buy political power, Zulum his a breath of
    fresh air😅😅😅

Why is Seun not correcting this man on his wrong assertions about this vat derivation policy if he he has read the bills. The last thing he said about FBN and mtn remitting their vat taxes to Lagos and that Lagos would get 60% of it is a blatant lie. With the proposed bill, Lagos will only get 60% of the mtn calls made in Lagos and 60% vat collected by FBN collected in Lagos and not what they collected by FBN all over Nigeria. With all the explanations given by Taiwo Oyedele on camera at several fora, I'm surprised the professor is still misrepresenting these bills, and Seun is watching him without a pushback. Oga o.

@Hasneem528 first of all, no part of the tax law started that "TetFunf etc " should or will be scrapped by 2029. SEUN should have asked " professor to start the section of the law or better still, seun should have corrected that.
      2. Professor said someone told him 60% of all vat on calls from Anambra will be credited to Lagos...Haba, did professor smoked something. Seun should have corrected that, infact, currently (without tax law passed), 100 % of all vat on all calls in Nigeria (not anambra alone) is going to Lagos. This tax law is correcting that, the tax law is saying, 100% of the calls in federal government who will now share 55% of it with the state and from that 55%, 60% of 55% will go back to state (good mathematic will let you know that 55% will go to anambra state, 35% will go to local goverment. Some other percentage are shared based on population which anambra is part of etc. Anyone who rejects this bill is just been myopic. Funny enough, Seun knows all this, because I have seen him ask question about this same thing to the drifters of the bill. I was just surprise he kept mute at this misinformation maybe Fearful or intentional.

The North have seen nothing yet, Nigeria will be restructured whether they like it or not. The Northern Oligarchy can not continue to drag the rests of the country backward or continue to feed fat at the expense of the rests of the region. Islamic is not the way of life as the governor claimed. Religion is a personal choice, and it should remain so.

For me, the Presidency goofed when it came to formulating and pushing for the tax reform from a political point of view. In over 1 year of review and formulation by the Oyedele team, you couldn't get even just the APC governors in the north to back this when APC has the most numbers of them there???!!! That's not good enough!
Especially when in my view the time lag between team formation to bill formulation is too long...i believed for the longest time that this was because of consultation

You know that this guy is a favorite of Aso villa,he has easy access to the villa and he’s supposed to toe the line of support for the villa, his utterance has the under tone of of the VP, who is also guilty of the subversion of allegiance. Anyway, he should be under watch.

The governor is not saying the truth even as a professor.
He grew up in those area knowing some areas are not governed, which some locals use for local gain and abuse, so when you have criminal elements, they are going to exploit this.
Education in the Northern Nigeria cannot be classroom based for now but must have an end to empowerment, whether Western or Islamic schools.
There must be data for this.

Its either theres an anterior motive or poor journalism. Otherwise, the producer behind the scene should have called him to order.

For those claiming that we didn’t understand the new tax reform bill are probably the ones who have no insight about it because the way it is is that as soon as our containers arrived the port VAT would be charged and paid even though goods may be taken to Kano as consumer state and that VAT would calculated as tax generated in Lagos
These are part of the bill that we northerners are against simply because it’s a hideous and mischievous way brought by Tinubu to further create in balance and subdued other states to strengthen Lagos where most tax collection firms are directly or indirectly own by Tinubu
