“Once our village is rebuilt, I'll regain my strength”: Edlyn Yaki survived the Yambali landslide

On May 24, an unprecedented landslide destroyed the village of Yambali in Enga Province, Papua New Guinea. 28-year-old Edlyn Yaki lost her father, husband and three children in the tragedy. She is one of the almost 8,000 people whose lives were permanently changed by the disaster. UNDP remains committed to supporting the early recovery and reconstruction of the impacted communities. Her husband was from one of the coastal provinces. Losing her children too. Very sad 😢 event in her life. These memories will haunt for the rest of her life. Worst still she is very young and it will be for some time yet. Sorry stret...she is in real pain and trauma.
