  • Daulatabad Fort, originally known as Devagiri, is a stunning hill fortress located near Aurangabad, Maharashtra. Built in the 12th century by the Yadava dynasty, it later became a stronghold for several rulers, including the Delhi Sultanate, Bahmani Sultanate, and the Mughals.
The fort is renowned for its impenetrable defenses, including steep hilltop walls, a deep moat, and a complex system of underground escape routes. It was briefly the capital of the Delhi Sultanate when Muhammad bin Tughlaq attempted to shift his empire’s capital from Delhi to Daulatabad in the 14th century.
Surrounded by lush landscapes and historical ruins, Daulatabad Fort remains a mesmerizing blend of history, architecture, and natural beauty.
