    Thanks for the effort you put into, and willingness to share this video. The table saw is my favourite tool and have never met anyone who has mastered the use of it like you. That table saw was made in 2000 and still looks brand new, a testament to taking care of your tools. Again, thanks for this, its inspiring me to go and tune up my saw.

      Much appreciated! Factory "anything" cant be really "dialed in" due to those inherent costs involved....but with a little time and patience, ANY table saw will benefit from a host of these.. After a few tweaks, you'll get to enjoy better smoother faster cuts for the rest of its service life. Adjust things till your absolutely happy and the rewards are endless cut after cut.

I bought mine when it first came out way back when. They have not been sold new for a long time. There are some very nice sliders on the marker but not cheap by any means. They take some getting used to but they will do very nice work for you.

    A little insight from me: I worked in printing for years, and on our machined surfaces (mostly large hydraulic paper cutter beds) we used spray silicone to protect the surface and keep it slick.... wood and paper are from the same family.... needed something to lubricate but not be oily

    • @joesshop3622
      @joesshop3622  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Your super right on silicones lubrication abilities, plus it's really cheep!....problem is I need to finish most of my projects and silicone will pollute everything it touches with its residual. Typically if you paint or screen print in many commercial facilities, silicone products are taboo. Check out the insane paint shop at Corvette to see how serious they take this issue! This is why I mention the Dri-Cote, it still allows later finishing. This is what makes it (almost lol) worth the price. With any smooth table saw top and this Dri -Coat application, 3/4 plywood and other sheet stock virtually floats like an air hockey game after it's application. Makes it beyond easy to manipulate heavy stock and still finish coat without contamination worries.

    Amazing Joe. Found you from a search for that Delta sliding table saw attachment. I have one, and it works great. However I have to often remove it to make rips that don't clear the sliding table's fence. I see that you keep the sliding carriage on. You have a way around this? Looks like you are simply removing the fence. Thanks again for the great tips. I have implemented several of them now and my Unisaw is singing and less dusty.

    • @joesshop3622
      @joesshop3622  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Sorry Mike!, my response to this never posted... anyway I leave the fence portion off 99.999% of the time and use another fence so I don't have the obstruction you speak of here. As you have seen, I tweaked my fastening of said fence to facilitate easier on off...

      Keep an eye out for estate sales and tag sales that say things like "tons of tools" etc. Sure, there are some stinkers, and it takes time, but I got one AND a 10" Delta (I'd have to go check the model #) for about 100 bucks. ("About" because I also got a tile saw, jointer, router w/ table and some other crap for $300 total).

  • @jeffgerards

    These are fantastic ideas. I just bought a Delta 36-725T2 and I'm looking forward to implementing some of these. Question: On #15, would this be in place of a riving knife? If so, what was your purpose in going with this method as an alternative?

    • @joesshop3622
      @joesshop3622  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Sort of like it but because each pin gets smaller by .015 (1/64) or less than 1/2 of a mm. it unloads the piece to the left of the blade if you push on the back edge of the part where a riving knife wont. It would still be chattering against it ready to kick it out at will...

    Also, for 39, are the blade stabilizers a permanent install thing? I just ordered a 3-pk of zero clearance blanks and I haven't cut them yet. Just wondering if I should do that mod before I cut them?

    • @joesshop3622
      @joesshop3622  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes you can easily remove them but why? Your best cuts will be with them in place. That's if your fence is rock solid.....I clamp mine if I require perfect glue-able surfaces without any blade marks.

    • @jeffgerards
      @jeffgerards 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Joes Shop I guess my logic was that, with a zero clearance insert, I would be limited in how high I could raise the blade before the stabilizers hit the bottom of the plate.

    • @joesshop3622
      @joesshop3622  3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Man this setup was way beyond its time.
    Question what are you using an 8' table to the right of the blade for, thats big enough for a full sheet sheet goods .
    You took a lot of time to figure out that setup i hope its made you a lot of money over the years. And your humble,
    Some guys just rave about how good they are seriously who cares does your work always show it?
    Would you sell trash or a job you didn't like the qulity of the finished product.
    You've built a lot of safty into that system. I like that you cant be too safe.
    Guys who run table saws without a spliter riving knife and anti kick back devices are just playing russian roulette
    One day that chambers going to be loaded. Every guy or gal who's ran a tool has had at least 1 close call. Your just one close call from the emergency room lowering the odds is your best bet if you lower it to a long shot. Like 100000000 to 1 but even thats not full proof.
    My point I had a table saw guard fly off the saw and hit me in the face just turning on the saw. Never stand in line with the blade when you turn on the saw
    Carbide teeth can fly off and hit you like a bullet. Get in the habit of lowering the blade into the table,
    You dont know if someone set somthing on your saw when you were not around and hit a tooth hard enough to break the weld. You come in later flip on the saw and the tooth is launched at 10000 rpm or near 100 miles an hour.

    • @joesshop3622
      @joesshop3622  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes it can process a 4x8 sheet in any configuration you desire. And sure it took a while to setup but in the last 3 decades it has performed so well I'm still amazed.

      I think you mean 39:22 right? The fence is locked down at the left side pivot through the brown plastic sleeve. At the right the fence bolts through said metal part with a hole off center that you can twist L or R bringing the fence to perfect square. Since 2 points hold the fence down, this metal part keeps the fence square even after the sliding table is re-adjusted, keeping it true as wear and re-squaring happens through time. Make sense? The nylon screw simply locks in the rotation adjustment to keep the fence square. Sorry for thinking it was self evident...my bad. The 1" hole in the table that holds this metal part has a small step so it can't slide down through it's 1" hole to the floor.
