Just got some of these, March 2018. Fantastic pants, quality is better than i expected. Infantry vet 11B 90-94 1/506th 1/327th.. these pants kinda remind me of the old summer weight BDU pants we had back then but they have a slight stretch to them that is perfect for IMT and high crawl type stuff, kinda slick agianst they skin so they shouldn't chaff during road marches. Seem to be more durable than the old summer or jungle weight BDU aslo. The Sizes are true so 34w is 34w no worries. The cut is fantastic, slim cut, high speed - low drag profile to them.. i would not hesitate to take these to the field ..great tropical weight pants, buy with confidence. Out
SnareMan ..all depending on your use. Some guys will never use those pockets anyway, Soldiers dont put anything in thier pockets in the field, it will just rub you raw or make noise... everything goes in your ruck or your vest/chest rig. .our pockets were always empty. .back pocket also.. wallet would just eat you up.

Infantry is a different world.. we did shit ppl would never imagine.. we would shave all hair off to prevent chaffing and hygiene problems due to lack of water and normal toliet paper, no underwear and walking around with your fly unbuttoned for better ventilation. . going commando is a real thing.. dude shooting at you may have his dick hanging out for all you know. .
Instead of using the backpockets for knife/pen why not use the side. Cut off the velcro, sew in some extra material on rear end of the pocket.Sew it halfway down so that knife/pen fits snugly.By only doing it halfway you can always get your stuff from the front part.And then the clips from both won´t be visible, since the flap covers them. Ps: I use my Vertx mens pants several times a week because of your video :-)
That's a pretty good idea. Now I just need to find the time/motivation to do it. Glad you're liking the Vertx pants. They are my favorite of all the tactical pants I own
WarGrrl3 I don't actually have a review of those. I haven't been able to talk myself into a good reason to get pants with the ankle Pockets since I would never use them and I generally use all of the pants that I review

It still blows my mind that they would put velcro on anything you might be accessing in a tactical situation.
A lot of the companies do it unfortunately, 5.11 included.

Glad you like them. They are cut a little slimmer. I got annoyed with getting stuff into the side pockets at times

I would remove those d rings. there's always black carabiners when needed.

They cost a lot less than 5.11 or Propper. Better yet, they're actually in freaking stock.

Its still the Vertx pants, probably the original ones, not the Phantom Ops because they looks the most normal, but are still very functional.
