Hi Lyssa Kay, great video again. I've been to most places on your tier list except Ghibli museum and Yoyogi park. I agree for the most part on your tier list. I've been to Tokyo SkyTree and Tokyo Tower once, and feel no need to go again. I will for sure visit Shibuya SKY and the Scramble Square Crossing again next time I'm in Tokyo. Agree on Shinjuku Gyoen park, but I will visit Yoyogi park next time around. I know nothing about Ghibli, and it will probably stay that way. Odaiba is cool, and so is Ariake, the man maid island next to Odaiba. I like the more relaxed feel out on the islands, and we always stay in Ariake when we visit Tokyo, close to Rinkai line and Yurikamome line, which give us great access to most of Tokyo. Greetings from Norway 🙂

100% agree with Skytree, but I also put Tokyo Tower with it too in the same tier. It's good to visit Tokyo Tower but no point going up since you are inside the very iconic thing that you can take photos of. Also the windows were very dirty when i went !

I'm visiting Tokyo right now on a solo trip, and yesterday i was taking a long walk from Shinjuku down toward the middle of Shibuya. I was getting tired and I was overheated, so I checked Google maps and saw a Daiso nearby. I figured I could get a drink and some face towels to dry my sweat. I was finally getting close, I rounded the corner and found myself on Takeshita Street. I had no plans to go there at all, but the Daiso i saw on my map happened to be there, and i hadn't noticed until it was too late.
It was an experience, but i didn't eat any of the food, and the only store I went to was Daiso, and even it was too crowded. Afterward, I actually escaped into Meiju-Jingu just to get away from the crowd and find some shade.

I approve this list! One thing I'll say about Tokyo Tower though, is that it does have a nice view and the surrounding is cool as well (there's a very nice little park with a small waterfall, going down the hill where the tower is at)

The best thing about Odaiba was finally managing to ride the waterbus there on like my 4th visit to Tokyo... best way ro visit I'd say. One more thing I'd recommend checking out is Takao-san, which is like Tokyo's local temple mountain - and on the way back you can go visit Nakano Broadway, which is the more hip and retro alternative to Akihabara. The best thing about Tokyo Skytree is probably the Sumida River Aquarium at the base, which has some beautiful displays - I'd still say it's worth shelling out to go to the top once in your life, if the weather is good, though. And I really like Ueno park and the Zoo, which is surprisingly cheap to enter - f queing for an hour to not see those Pandas properly, though. The one thing I'd like to know, though, is what you can actually do in Tokyo in the morning, because attractions and shops always open quite late.

I agree with your tierlist. Shinjuku Gyoen is fine, but I feel like it's better suited for the local who wants to get away than a tourist attraction.
For observation towers, I went to Skytree and didn't really care for it. Maybe the view is better at night but I didn't really enjoy it during the day. Wanna go to the top level? That's another ticket and another elevator! I went to an observation tower in Roppongi near the National Art Center and I enjoyed it more.
Akihabara has some more business oriented mall and dining areas near the station that I liked. Follow the locals. There were some good restaurants here. I think I enjoyed Nakano more though.
Shinjuku was one of my favorite areas to visit. It felt more "city" and less touristy when I was exploring it. The higher end department stores were really fun
I really did enjoy going to Ginza just to look around and shop. Even if it's out of my shopping price range, I really enjoyed window shopping.
Shrines: I think I'd take most people to Sensoji, as touristy as it is. I'd probably skip Meiji Jingu unless someone really wanted to go. My favorite shrine within Tokyo was tucked away behind a bustling business district. It actually felt non-touristy and peaceful.
Ghibli Museum: I actually don't recommend it - If you could get a ticket without too much fuss, sure. But when I went the amount of foreign tickets were very limited and hard to get. I got lucky and a friend of a friend who was a local was able to get me a ticket. It was nice but I would not spend a ton of effort trying to do this. I think kids will enjoy the catbus and the 10-minute exclusive animated films that rotate throughout the week. If you want Ghibli merchandise, there are quite a lot of shops and toy stores (and a couple of Ghibli focused shops in Asakusa) that I thought had more interesting inventory.
Takeshita Street: Way too touristy. Just tons of crepe shops. I just didn't like the vibe at all. Cat Street is definitely better.

Always good to hear people's opinions on the more touristy spots of Tokyo! Helps me get a better idea of what to suggest when friends come visit.
One thing I'll say is this tier list was a bit inconsistent, where some were judged on the specific attraction while some were the district. Usually the district as a whole will feel more worthy of visiting.
Skytree for example - not that great if you travel all the way to Oshiage ONLY for the observatory and then leave. But the district itself is a nice, somewhat scenic, 20min walk from Asakusa across sumida river and along a creek, and the solamachi mall under the skytree is one of the best malls in Tokyo for all ages. It's worth combo-ing with Asakusa if you have some time, even if you aren't going up to the observatory.

Awesome tier list! What about Teamlab? I am thinking S tier? So far it is on my must see list for our trip in 2025. How about Disney Park and Disney Sea?

glad you moved up shinjuku gyoen because it's an awesome park and the year pass is a steal imo. i agree with yoyogi park. i'll be moving to japan in two weeks and found a sharehouse like a km away from the park. S tier simply because it's such a great place to run. also, skytree is great to look at from the ground but going up it is such a waste. odaiba is one of my favourite areas in tokyo as well. good tierlist 👍 you should make a tierlist of chain restaurants/ fast food restaurants

The Fish Market (2024) is now a touristy place with overpriced food stalls (there are a few good ones still, but most of them aren't very good and NEVER buy kobi beef there as they are definitely not the real thing). It's a solid D for me.

Okay, I've watched quite a few of your videos and I finally gotta ask, what are you saying at the end of each one? I assume it's something that means goodbye or the like.
