- Just showing off the guide for my DirecTV box for a forum thread, and anyone else who would care to see it. I'm going a bit slow, because I instinctively wait for a screen update before pressing the button again, and I'm watching it through a capture box, but you can see how scrolling is. That is without the smooth animation on.

Now we have streaming service that dominates entertainment
I wish they people of DirecTV had the graphics of the guide still look like that nowadays but still kept the screen, 12hrs and Guide Options on the left side, the show's title name, time and info in the middle and the DirecTV logo on the right side.

Yeah it was a decent capture box for the time. It had a lot of crashy firmware bugs though.
@george5563 Hauppauge HDPVR. I use it in linux using the hdpvr.ko driver, and I believe this was taken using VLC's record function.

DirecTV is working on an HD version of the guide, which should be coming out later this year.

I don't have cable anymore. I switched to an antenna box. I had DirecTV first, then I switched to Dish, then back to DirecTV. This kind of sounds weird, but I used to be scared of the DirecTV logo screensaver.

Don't remember one but that was over 10 years ago so I don't remember. There might've been one and I just turned it off or something.
@@Aeduo I was looking around and I think the sound I remember was the Tivo sound
@@Evil_Pixl that was a distinctive sound. I never had a tivo though. It was most popular while I was younger and we didn't have it, and by the time I was old enough, hard disk recorders were just a normal thing you could get. Nowadays I don't have cable at all though.

Strange How They Still Had The Old CN Logo On The EPG, I Mean, This Was Months After CN Changed Their Logo.
The network logo on the epg doesn’t update the day logos change for reasons.
Yeah it’s weird. Once time went went to Atlanta Georgia and the guide still had the 2004 logo, IT WAS 2017.

It's in the title but I doubt these work with the service anymore if you were to find one. This was over 10 years ago. I also recall they ran hot and tended to spontaneously die, if not start on fire.
