- 'MASHIPOO' is a design used in Kerala Mural painting for decorating the border of paintings. There are different types of MASHIPOO designs. The design is circular in structure and are plotted using specific measurements taken in 'Angula', traditional term used in measurements. This design can be creatively incorporated into any medium of choice once it is learned the correct way.
This video shows you how to draw, measure and color in a step by step procedure of sketching and coloring this design. We wish you all the best.

Bithipoovinte measurement paranjathil oru doubt undu. 10 inch in triangular scale =6.5 cm in normal scale ennalle paranjathu. Then 8 inch in triangular scale = 5.2 cm in normal sacle il edhukkandathu , 3.25 allallo, pls clarify.

Awesome tutorial.. i don't understand why spending so much time and effort in drawing outline initially with maroon/red ?
Traditional Kerala Mural Painting is based on some rules and procedures.
* First give a rough sketch with lekhini.
* Rought outline with yellow color.
*Fair lines with Red outline.
This is the procedure which followed in old times.
Red is the color which provide more visibility and it's easy to correct.
