Me (designer and product manager) at the coffee table giving you a demo of the Frazetta Icon Collectibles Norseman action figure from FrazettaGirls. www.frazettagi... www.bigbadtoys...
Fantastic choice for third Frazetta Icons figure. I know Conan has been revealed but if this line alternates between male and female figures that would be amazing too, fitting given how famous the Frazetta Girl is.
Damn, I wasn't sure from the promo shots (something about the face didn't land for me) but a little over half way through this and I'm sold. Can't wait to see what you guys make next, there's some wild ones in the catalogue. Conan looks very cool, and if this is what we can come to expect regarding accessories, I'm very impressed. I did have a question: will you guys be able to do figures based on Frazetta's work on specific properties, like his Eowyn and Nazgul, or John Carter and Dejah from Barsoom? Or are those spoken for by their rights holders?
This looks awesome! Such a fantastic sculpt to that body, I honestly even wish you guys did something like the mythic legions 'legion builders' to make customs! Speaking of the articulation, I think it looks great and poses well. The only improvements I would like to see is to make two handed sword poses possible. It would need some sort of ballpeg/butterfly at the shoulder, kinda like how sh figuarts or revoltech does it (but it would requiere a new torso... and shoulder joint of course). But honestly, double joints are overrated and not really needed in most cases. I do prefer these to look as good as they do and move good enough, than to have a ton of joints that cut the art of the sculpture.
I hate butterfly joints. They just cut up the sculpt far too much. I would sooner put in shoulder extensions but that could get messy on construction. I like where we landed. :)
Big fan, just found out about Frazetta because of tegra, I missed dark wolf. And he’s $99 on BBToys & most brick &. Mortar shops. Any plans for re issues ?
This line looks really good. But the knee articulation doesn't look good. The now classic double knee joint articulation is just superior, and should be an industry standard. I'm on the fence about the upcoming Conan. I own all 3 Mezco ones. But I'm worried they won't make more Conan figures as they haven't announced any roadmap. Which would really make me consider the FrazettaGirls one. Especially if they would make as many characters from that property as possible. As I am looking for complete sets. My dream goal of posing Conan with a female companion behind him fighting his enemies would be any Conan collectors ultimate goal. Do you have any information on what their plans are for the Conan line?
This figure looks great and loved Dark Wolf.....but ! Teagra was a freaken nightmare, couldn't get the hair piece to sit on the head without heating, couldn't get the head on without heating, hands felt like the pegs were going to snap inside the arm so I heated the arm for 3-4 seconda then pulled the hand off...the fingers distorted from the heat...need to warn collectors that you can't heat the hands ...going to do a youtube on this because collectors need to know...catch ya!!
@@MarkVersion1 Ex Darkwolf has different arm bracers and battle axe that are based on his look in the actual movie. The original one is based on the movie poster by Frazetta. :)
That’s not an obscure character, that’s Karl Edward Wagner’s Kane! You said it yourself, you based the figure partially on Bloodstone and other wing-helmeted character paintings. I’m thinking of Dark Crusade, Night Winds and Kane on the Golden Seas (Darkness Weaves)
@@johnpuglio1385 as action figures go, he’s very obscure and I don’t know many figure collectors who read the books Frazetta did the covers for. Happy to be corrected there though. :)
@@Eamonod you are correct, actually. I’m just an over-excited fan-boy. You guys are hitting it out of the park with your figures, keep up the good work! Really excited about Conan.
@@scottroxford5715 I have Darkwolf and he's my figure of the year so far. Waiting for Teegra to ship. Will pre-order Norseman next week. But thanks for the warning, Mr Gatekeeper.
@@SmokeForPants I'm not gatekeeping, just saying they're not worth the price since the articulation is limited af, I got Teegra and she can't even hit a T pose without her arms popping off. That doesn't scream good engineering to me.
@@scottroxford5715 We have different philosophies on how a figure should be valued. For example, I think the T-pose test is nonsense and misses the original reason we were attracted to this hobby to begin with. I'm buying these figures because they blow me away. $80 to be blown away is a pretty good deal to me. Most figures that have sophisticated engineering sacrifice significant portions of the visual wow factor to accomplish it. It's a trade-off. More range does not automatically make something better, unless it does it without compromising aesthetics or ease of use.
OK I posted this comment before i got to finish the review, but now that's I've completed it I have to say the range of motion is decent but the figure still desperately needs butterfly joints for double arm sword wielding, double jointed knees since the 1 poa knee is not even close to being as good, and finally I prefer properly cut bicep swivel over hollow shoulder (glad you didnot go the amazing yamaguchi road and gave it the weird inside T joint with the should being a half empty disk. Other than that it is stlear work, I just came to know it was designed by you so props to you for pulling such an awesome piece regardless of its flaws.
I like that the brand is branching off into characters that are not from Fire and Ice. That can lead to a lot of paintings getting figures.
100%.
Quality to work with.
Give me an ice giant with ability to change look like this figure. I’ll take two.
Bring on Conan and Death Dealer!
Yes and double yes
I'd prefer mezcko or savage crucible Conan and Death Dealer
Aww thanks for the shout out mate 💪🏼👍🏼❤️,figure looks great !
Yes,yes, yes he is AWESOME just keep them coming......just got to love them...
Love this figure! Can’t wait for Conan. Please consider doing Kane from Frazetta’s Dark Crusade!
I realise how costly this would be but man, I’d love the Silver Warrior with his polar bear chariot, or the Moon Maiden with the Centaur.
Good job again!! Keep up the good work, looking forward to more frazetta work coming to life in this form.
He really has a very good look! ❤ Love the whole design and the accessories

@@whitefriarnerd good army builder .
Great looking figure and great review! I had to laugh at the Teegra at the beach comments. Too funny.
Wow awesome, hope to see many others action figures like these in future ❤
Love it. Its Frazetta they are all obscure characters!
With all the switching out parts he would make a great Hercules figure. Even for a Norseman
Absolutely gorgeous figure, Eamon. Bravo!
Fantastic work Eamon!!!🎉🎉🎉
Great work and fantastic enthusiasm! Keep 'em coming! I pre-ordered two last week!
Very nice!
I didn't realize the interchangeability other than the heads and hair... dang... I might have to get another one now 😆 🤣 😂
after this , I really want him too - Frazetta, love them, now there is 3...
I’m sad that they don’t scale well with my Tyris Flare. But I still ordered Teegra and coming anytime soon.
