@@mr.boomguy looks more to my like half his head is damaged from an issue in the cloning process. That would explain the modified behavior since that hemisphere of the brain might be damaged. Resulting in a strong reliance on the creative side and reduced rational thinking.
@jessebraughler8594 To me, he might've been a little a little more careless sometime prior to Clone Wars Season 7 and probably accidentally detonated an explosive which not only damaged and blinded his left side but also likely strong enough to have dislodged his inhibitor chip that's located on the right side of his head which would be why he showed the same confusion during Order 66 as Hunter, Echo, and Tech since his strength mutations don't affect his brain and when he got hit on the head, the inhibitor chip got knocked somewhat back in place which started giving him headaches as Order 66 tried to activate for him
Not really “fatherlike” that’s Hunter’s role in the Bad Batch; especially when it comes to Omega. Wrecker comes across as an older brother/uncle figure.
Guy is smart enough to immediately recall the dozens of complex and specialized military maneuvers that the Bad Batch so often employs. Every time someone calls a number for one of dozens, maybe even hundreds, of specific plans Wrecker always immediately knows what the plan is.
One of my absolute favorite scenes between Wrecker and Crosshair is in the Clone Wars 7 Echo/Anaxes arc, after Crosshair takes out an entire phalanx of battle droids with his ricochet shot, leaving Wrecker agape and speechless. Hunter comes up behind him and pats his shoulder, telling him he'll catch up next time, then Crosshair leans in and says "no he won't", and takes off out of the scene (and, I imagine, grinning like a loon underneath that helmet) . Whoever framed that must have had some experience in good-natured sibling rivalry, because I watch this same sort of thing played out dozens of times between my own brothers (though it was over sports, rather than war). It's really the only time there's even a hint of levity coming from Crosshair, and it's sad to think that order 66 was what killed the easy camaraderie between the brothers. Crosshair was always something of an asshole - his behavior toward the 'regs' in CW7 was abominable - but not until Order 66 did he really go off the rails with his squad.
Wrecker was also planning for the future by training Omega. I did not see what Wrecker was doing with the explosive as a joke but as a way of getting her attention.
I had a thought, and I know this is a year later here, but he mightve also been training her as a just in case scenario of her needing to be on her own if she got separated. When in doubt, alone and surrounded by enemies? Blow things up. And to not be blown up yourself, know how to disarm your own bombs.
Something I noticed about Wrecker is that he good with kids based on his interaction with Cut’s kids in ‘Cut and Run’ and how well he gets along with Omega.
Another thing Wrecker has been shown to be good at is interacting with other people and cultures. He fit in perfectly with the Wookiees, jumping off branches alongside them and possibly speaking Shriiwook?? He could also appreciate their food and their culture ie communing with the trees. Then when they are on Pabu, which is a completely different culture to the Wookiees, Wrecker again fits in perfectly. He joins in their activities like fishing and shows his appreciation for their culture. He immediately becomes a beloved member of the community. It seems that wherever the batch find themselves, Wrecker will fit in.

Wrecker has high emotional intelligence, but I wouldn't discount his "classical" intelligence either. Not only is he the Team's demolition expert, on Serenno, he was was able to cobble together some kind of ordinance launcher out of separatist tank wreckage, using parts that almost certainly weren't supposed to be assembled together that way. And he did that spontaneously and very quickly. I think his ability and creativity depends on his personal interest, if something interests him (read: goes boom), he's very, very good at it.
@BrokenCurtain the sad thing is other Star Wars TH-camrs think Wrecker is stupid. I say to them have you met anyone from the military ever. Many of us are the biggest joking and pranking people around.
He knows everything about all kinds of ordinances, not just use, but rigging something up and finding new ways to use them as well, a certain level of intelligence must be there, no? I also understand that Wrecker is Techs right hand man when it comes to repairs, not just because he is strong and a "gofer" but also because he actually understands a lot of the things Tech does on a more intuitive level, paired with his abilitiy to rig stuff up is rather helpfull. On top of that he is rather sensitive about the emotions of others, empathy is his strong suit, I even saw the term "emotional intelligence" thrown about once or twice.
I really don't know why people find Wrecker stupid. The guy is an extremely good elite soldier. That requires a lot of understanding about a whole lot of physics, Math, military skill and so many other things on top of being a weapons expert. Hell even with an extreme fear of heights, he is able to easily conquer that fear and continue doing whatever needs to be done. That shows great willpower. It's pretty obvious in the show that every single member of the Bad Batch is very intelligent in all types of intelligence you can think of, just that each excel in different parts. Even speaking just about emotional intelligence, each member is really mature. Hunter knows how to speak to anyone, Echo, while having a different way of expressing emotion, is able to teach Omega this, Wrecker and Omega are excellent in this regard and even Crosshair who seems like a very quiet person, analyses every single interaction he has and is basically able to know who to really trust instinctively.

Also, he managed to tank a cannon from an AAT and make it portable, albeit he's probably the only one to actually hold it, but still. That's impressive
Wrecker ain't dumb, he's just passionate at what he does. And when you have someone passionate about their favorite subject they excel at that subject.
I noticed in S2 E11 that he could immediately tell what that electro stick thing was that the commandos used. The writers were geniuses themselves to slowly show more of his character in the background like this.
You hit the nail on the head with "hyperactive," I think Wrecker exhibits many signs of ADHD. He's impulsive, functions really well in chaos, is empathic and compassionate, and struggles to regulate his volume (tho he may also be partially deaf). He also gravitates to the other neurodivergent Bad Batcher, Tech. He has a great situational memory but hates rote memorization -- Tech says "what we did on Felucia" and Wrecker doesn't need any clarification, he's ready to go. He's also the one to voice everyone's buried feelings about Crosshair, build Omega's room, and notice Tech's crush on Phee.
Yooo!!! Maybe that's part of why I like him so much. Of all the Bad Batch, I relate most to Hunter and Wrecker. With Hunter, that's more because of his reserved personality and his senses (I have pretty sharp vision and a VERY, at times painfully strong olfactory system, so whenever I see a character with strong senses like that I relate). With Wrecker, I relate to him for his impatience and impulsivity, his loudness (I am a rather anxious, reserved person who also tends to accidentally overshare and can't regulate my speaking volume like AT ALL), and a few other odds and ends about him (mostly his situational vs memorization memory; I too can't seem to memorize anything. His love of blowing stuff up is also quite relatable). I'm working on getting a diagnosis for ADHD, since I'm pretty sure that's what's going on with me and it's kinda getting harder to deal with as I get older. It's always just been how my brain is, so I consider it normal, but I'm noticing now that things like my impatience, my inability to memorize things, and my time blindness make managing college or work VERY difficult. One thing I really love about the Bad Batch is that all of them seem (to me, at least) like they're somehow neurodivergent, and they all express this in different ways, but work together wonderfully. Also as far as clones I related a lot to go...DAMN did Hardcase and Fives really hit. Missing them every day :(
All my veteran friends have a dark sense of humor. Wrecker playing around with a smoker is pretty tame. I just hope they don't try to do a live action Bad Batch.
I love Wrecker so much. He’s my favorite, he knows how to get the job done and have fun. I haven’t finished season 2, but back in season 1 when his chip was activated, I almost cried lol
Finally, someone appreciating the underrated and understated brilliance of Wrecker. He and Tech (may he rest in peace or turn out to be not dead lol) are my favorite clones.
I love this channel and Allen, you are my fave SW youtuber. May the force be with you, sir. Wrecker is and way deeper than meets the eye. Glad you could point it out.
Intelligence can also be defined as the ability to adapt to change. I think Wrecker was the clone who took the dramatic changes in the Bad Batch's life situation easiest of them all.
One of the best pictures I've ever seen was photoshopped but still funny as hell...it was of an EOD tech working on a bomb on a beach (which looked an awful lot like the western shore of San Clemente Island), busy at his task...behind him is another EOD tech with an inflated paper bag which he is about to pop...even funnier than the old Far Side comic. Damn new pissed myself laughing when I first saw it. (Yes, it'd be super messed-up to do that to someone but even they would think it was hilarious afterwards...military humor is kinda like that.) Wrecker's little joke on Omega is right up there with that.
As an EOD, he has to know at least the basics of Electronics and Electrical Engineering, Structural Engineering, Chemistry, Ballistics, and half a dozen other fields. Add to that a solid memory to hold knowledge, schematics, etc, and I don't think there's anything low-key about his intelligence. He's not even an immature man-child. He has the maturity and wisdom to know that there's a time for goofing around and a time for knuckling down and focusing on the tasks at hand. The people who view loud and playful as unintelligent are the ones who lack general intelligence. Unable to keep track of more than one thing at a time, they have to constantly stay focused and organized to get anything done. Wrecker and Hunter are basically Intelligence Sampler Packs.
No idea how you don't have more views. It's the best star wars channel on here. And I'm it's also awesome that you used viva la dirt leage Footage. It's like two of my favorite channels coming together.
I saw that Wrecker is highly intelligent in the beginning of Bad Batch season one when he built a functional heavyweight weapon out of busted parts laying around. Even in Clone Wars, I could never dismiss him as less intelligent than his brothers. The reason we might not see him as intelligent is because he is the only member of his squad who acts his age, 10-13 years old. That's not a defect. It's just his growth acceleration didn't hit him in the hypothalamus quite as hard as most other clones; but he is very intelligent.
You talking about how your friend must be intelligent if he'd been messing around with explosives most of his life and still had all his fingers got me😂
Of all your videos lately this is by far my favorite. You nailed Wrecker. Your observations about all the members of the Bad Batch are extremely keen. Keep it up!
I love the way you have developed these videos. Initially just talking about Star Wars but now you are clearly broadening out to talk more about society, politics, people and philosophy - would love to see you develop another channel just focusing on that! You have a lots of interesting things to say sir.
I was born with a disability and always struggled to fit in with the people around me, it wasn’t until I moved away that I realised I can actually be smart in my own way, and when I saw the bad batch I got a bad batch 99 tattoo on my arm because I felt like I finally had something in star wars I could identify with
I dunno man, the EOD cats I've talked to say "I'm either right or it's not my problem anymore". But yeah right on with the humor and not a bad way to teach children. Great video man, love your stuff. Don't know where you're at but if you get out to the San Diego area look me up, we should ride if you're willing to slum it a bit and ride with a Kawasaki guy.
I never even thought about it until now, but...yeah, they're quite similar, right down to Shaxs actually being one of the most emotionally intelligent officers on the Cerritos!
The bomb disarming and Wrecker building a grenade launcher out of an old tank are two of my favorite scenes out of him. I really hope we get to see more of that side of him solving problems in Season 3, especially with how small the squad is now.
Great video! Thanks so much for delving so deeply into this. I get annoyed when people just pass over Wrecker as big and dumb, so thank you for pointing how how intelligent he really is.
-Controversial video title as hook🪝 -Pretending to give people what they want: "Lighthearted Entertainment" 🌈 -But then giving them what they need: "wholesome social advice and encouragement of critical thinking." 💭 -packaging all that into great analogy's by using a popular star wars show. ✨ -Keeping all of this entertaining for 15 Minutes ❗️ So who's the secret genius here? You are! (and your team) No. No. Just take the compliment. It's been over one year since I've discovered your videos. And I'm still in awe every dang time! Thank you. Thank you so much! Amazing work! You keep making my days.
Comment about the bomb joke... yeah that's exactly the type of joke some EOD guys I've heard of would do. Like forcing the rookie to eat C4 and then mentioning they should stay away from electrical sources since if they get shocked, it might detonate the putty... right before they all pull out tasers and chase the rookie till he shits his pants.
Point of note: Omega is older than the Bad Batch by several years. She is an unaltered Fett clone. The Bad Batch may be 12 or 13 years old, but Omega was Nala Se's assistant in creating Clone Troop 99.
US Army engineer school for 12A is a very challenging school during demolition phase. My comrades and I trained to become sappers in addition to platoon leaders. As a commando wrecker must have trained be a leader in addition to an engineer. At Fort Leonard Wood, US Army engineers that train demolition also need to learn to theoretically build bridges, theoretically build sheltered structures and theoretically build roads as well. The Republic probably follows a similar model for its soldiers because engineers take on similar roles are in the Star Wars universe two our universe.
I usually don't like characters like this who can't take things seriously and find them tiresome and annoying. But in this case, Wrecker is endearing and fun. Thanks for pointing out his value.
Remember, the proper application of explosives can be really creative and you can use a lot less explosives to bring down big buildings with the people do not understand about explosives is if you shake the charges properly you don’t have to use a lot of dynamite or a lot of plastic explosive. It’s where you put it matters it’s why wrecker is a genius, because of the fact that he knows where to put the explosives to drop the most damage
On one hand, I hope we get to see more of this intelligent side of Wrecker in the next season, but on the other, if he gets too much character development, he might get the tech treatment 😭
I appreciate your analysis of Wrecker and the less standard, but more varied, Intelligence factors. I also appreciate how you point out that recognizing one's particular realm of intelligence can help one feel more accomplishment if their income can be based on their realm of intelligence. Unfortunately not all realms of intelligence are recognized as skills worthy of being paid. Knowledge of this is a very discouraging and depressing thing.
I imagine Wrecker gets a great deal of amusement from weaponising others' assumptions about him... oh dear gods, Omega is being raised by a bunch of Ops guys, she's going to be a menace when she's grown 🤣
I really like Omega (not sure if I’m spelling her name correctly). But I’ve really enjoyed her story arc coupled with the Bad Batch. As she’s clearly not some Mary Sue like Rey or Reeva. As I’m actually invested and care about Omega and her story. Plus I really enjoy their found family dynamic.
Being educated to work on assembly lines, in an education system that is essentially an assembly line itself. The product is "educated" workers. We're a dystopian society of cogwheels, enslaved to the economy. Choked so slowly that most don't even notice.
I bet captain Rex is thinking "no one can top that" in the intro. I think there is musical intelligence(maybe), artistic intelligence, creative intelligence, maybe intelligence for touching and sensing stuff. Also the body has memory and intelligence in itself, Disclosure intelligence for discover or uncovering truths, I think? Intelligence can be imagination or critical thinking of ideas I guess? Intelligence for tactics? Anyone who is a demolition expert I think they are smart, they are. Before the video I felt that Wrecker is really excellent of his movements during intense stuff, he is very strong, and of course for emotion sense is strong, he will be playful.
I can say he is definitely highly intelligent given everything you've said. I'm an example of a near complete opposite, except I too don't fit in with society at large. It can be truly crushing to know you can never fit in with others and can drain you of all motivation. Not to mention what the internet and media, social or otherwise, does. It destroys people like Wrecker or even stops somebody from being intelligent in the first place. It also can make people bad with kids, since they end up not having the patience needed. Modern intelligence is definitely being confused with obedience and being able to do well in a conventional job and have a good family.
Can't also forget that wrecker is blind in one eye which means he doesn't really have depth perception either. So his ability to accurately lob projectiles is even more impressive in that regard.

I love Wrecker so much. He’s my favorite, he knows how to get the job done and have fun. I haven’t finished season 2, but back in season 1 when his chip was activated, I almost cried lol
wrecker was also the one to spout the not so famous quote
'We arent Dummy Droids" - Wrecker
"He wasn't a terrorist, he was just a Mormon"
What's the difference?
Finally, someone appreciating the underrated and understated brilliance of Wrecker. He and Tech (may he rest in peace or turn out to be not dead lol) are my favorite clones.
He's my favorite of the bunch. He likes to blow things up. In that statement, I will always be happy to watch.
Wrecker is a genius. He recognizes problem and he fixes them. Sometimes that means breaking down walls and blowing up enemy cruisers.
3:05 “Most of us devote a huge amount of time to relatively meaningless jobs” as I watch’s this at my relatively meaningless job 🤣🤣
I love Wrecker, he's my boy. I definitely identify with him the most.
Wrecker and Hunter are basically Intelligence Sampler Packs.
you always manage to bring these videos into a real world aspect and I love that keep up the amazing work
No idea how you don't have more views. It's the best star wars channel on here. And I'm it's also awesome that you used viva la dirt leage Footage. It's like two of my favorite channels coming together.
Woo, Army EOD here. Glad someone else finally pointed this out about Wrecker. Also we're not Engineers. At least in the US Army.
Wrecker would make one heluva Snipe in a US Navy Boat Unit. He MacGyvers things out of random parts as good as us Boat Guys.
The reason I love his channel is because he incorporates our real world problems to these characters and shows and it’s all true and I love that
You talking about how your friend must be intelligent if he'd been messing around with explosives most of his life and still had all his fingers got me😂
Of all your videos lately this is by far my favorite.
At this point anyone who rides is an endangered animal. Only love for my fellow riders no matter what degenerate crotch rocket you’re sitting on 🤣
Imagine getting looped in by a silly Wrecker video only to be tricked into learning a life lesson. Couldn’t be me.
What a great way to view the series and the characters behind it
I love the Viva La Dirt League video reference here, those guys are hilarious!
I had to pause the video to find a comment for this. Those guys really are hilarious and was very very happy to see them.
The moment I loved Wrecker was when Snakin gave him his present
Hey now! Another awesome video. Keep up your excellent work, sir.
"My friend wasn't a terrorist, he was a Mormon."
I know a guy like this, I'd be more worried about him if he hadn't gotten as old as he did
I served with a Mormon guy in the Marines and he was certifiably crazy as hell. Most likely to kill somebody for sure
The joy of Wrecker getting to blow up ships reminds me of Lieutenant Shaxs finally being allowed to eject the warp core.
They're probably related.
He’s definitely the most in touch with his emotions.
Great video! Thanks so much for delving so deeply into this. I get annoyed when people just pass over Wrecker as big and dumb, so thank you for pointing how how intelligent he really is.
Wrecker is a demolitions expert. He might be socially immature but his knowledge of explosive ordinance is excellent.
The thumbnail! I would SIMP for Wrecker with glasses!
-Controversial video title as hook🪝
-Pretending to give people what they want: "Lighthearted Entertainment" 🌈
-But then giving them what they need: "wholesome social advice and encouragement of critical thinking." 💭
-packaging all that into great analogy's by using a popular star wars show. ✨
-Keeping all of this entertaining for 15 Minutes ❗️
So who's the secret genius here?
You are! (and your team)
No. No. Just take the compliment.
It's been over one year since I've discovered your videos.
And I'm still in awe every dang time!
Thank you.
Thank you so much!
Amazing work!
You keep making my days.
Definitely gave me more appreciation. Wrecker not only likes causing explosions, he also knows how to prevent them.
A friend of mine who is in Army EOD once said "I either get the job right, or it's no longer my problem". That's one way to look at it!
I mean, hey, the man's just looking at the situation as it is.
Wow… Thank you for making this video🙌. Truly. My current child self related to this video & resolve in it. Thank you man🙌. May the force be with you
Well said!
This was literally the best video ever.
Wrecker in that scene even shows high social intelligence. he's a great teacher.
Better understanding and decisions making that's my definition
I love it when you write videos like this
Wrecker takes the most care of weaker or more susceptible people. His super power is being a good mom, he just happens to smash hard.
I actually rhink this video might help some people with low self asteeme. Great video.
Alright now hear me out Wrecker vs Younglings picture it him just launching a child at a wall
Brilliant video General Alan!
Yooooo new Gen Tech dropped
Interesting thanks for sharing Paul
Could you do a video on what it would look like if the Jedi coupled the Republic
I love this video. Alan you are a swell guy.
Thats why he is my fave 💪
Very Perceptive Alan 👍🏼 👍🏼👍🏼
I just want to say I love your videos and how you go outside Star Wars to teach valuable life lessons. Keep up the great work friend!
I usually don't like characters like this who can't take things seriously and find them tiresome and annoying. But in this case, Wrecker is endearing and fun. Thanks for pointing out his value.
Only Allan can turn a topic of a fictional cartoon Star Wars character into a psychology masterclass about what it means to be intelligent
Oh, I didn't know he wore glasses until I saw the thumbnail. You've convinced me he's smart.
Great product placement. Need me a tube of that!
The batch was so much cooler in CW than their own show. Wrecker and Hunter were both more badass by a mile
Hey do you have a breakdown on the t16? If not will you do one?
Wrecker gotta be my favorite enhanced clone. He’s got super high emotional intelligence and military intelligence.
Wrecker: "here comes the wrecking ball."
Being educated to work on assembly lines, in an education system that is essentially an assembly line itself. The product is "educated" workers.
We're a dystopian society of cogwheels, enslaved to the economy. Choked so slowly that most don't even notice.
The thing about brutes is that while not the brightest of the lot they are likeable.
Love me some Wrecker ❤
keep spitting facts allen
I wish Tech still alive in Bad Batch Season 3 so there can survive from the Empire
But then star wars would become like marvel where death is meaningless
More permanent death needs to have some weight and meaning in good storytelling
