You, Kurt and everyone else researching this are amazing. I've given up trying to get shiny alpha Eevee since all advances I was getting were close to or over 50000 even with perfect dex and charm, but this is great. One thing I've noticed in these permutations is that if you multi battle a number of pokemon and leave to camp right after (with 3 or less remaining), the second wave will be identical to the path where you don't leave. My guess is multibattling forces the game to spawn all the ghost spawns regardless if you leave or not, so until you despawn another one after a multibattle going back to camp does nothing.
You're absolutely correct in that. I removed any paths where the path requires a revisit of the same number as left over after a multibattle because of that. It doesn't do the ghost spawns until you despawn one more.
Nice guide man, i remember that 2 years ago, i discovered this by myself, it took me like 2 weeks to catch 2 alpha shiny teddiursa . About 2 days ago, i decided to shinyhunt in PLA again, but i realized that i had forgotten what i used to do those two years ago, thanks man
Works like a (shiny) charm once you do it right. I got an alpha shiny wurmple, unown, and Pachirisu today while using this method. Thank you for showing this.
Hi, this guide is awesome thank you so much. I wanted to add one tip I found. Yesterday I needed to despawn 3 skittish pichu, but there was an aggressive pikachu that was always around. Every time I got 3 exclamation marks, the pikachu would aggro on me so I couldn't port back to town. There were only those 3 pichu and the 1 pikachu when I needed to despawn 3. Luring the pikachu away from the pichu was tough. What I did instead was: 1) Do what is advised in this video to despawn groups of skittish pokemon 2) If an aggressive pokemon aggroes on you, as soon as you see all the exclamation marks you need to see(for example, if I need to despawn 3 pichu, I need to see 3 exclamation points after I hit them with something), fly up and away. 3) After aggro was gone, I ported back to town, then went back to the spawn. I don't think this was necessary though, but I am not sure -- I only found this out through experimenting right now. I think after aggro is gone, I can just fly back to the spawn without porting back to town.
I am currently hunting an Alpha Shiny Typhlosion but it is so hard to find second hordes of Alphas so hoping I can hunt using this method on a second horde on a Cyndaquil outbreak if it happens to show up.
Maybe a stupid question but is it even possible to do certain Multiscares such as with Budew where some of them actually go aggro on you, especially when you have to do 4 of them
Oh man. Ty soo much! Now I can finally try and get those shiny togepi. Also can the seed checker work for regular MO? I've been trying to get a shiny eevee.
how did this work out for you. I can not seem to get the basculin to get "!" on there heads to trigger a double run away. My permutation has a multi-scare of just 2 and then the rest is smooth sailing but it just doesnt want to do it for me
@@CappyCapital Well, I tried it again today on some Buneary and it actually worked. I had a feeling it'd work better for them since they don't attack. Still for those that attack before running away, I really don't know because I'm certain I did it with some Kirlia, but nothing worked. Or maybe I just didn't have that well of an understanding for the skittish pathing system. Whatever the case, if I encounter them again, I'm gonna try again.
@@CappyCapital With Cyndaquil and Togepi/Togetic, they're always refusing to multi-despawn. It's really frustrating me. I just want those female shinies... I want to see how others handle this situation.
Does this work for hippopotas? Sometimes they’re aggressive and sometimes they’re skittish, this mmo i’m doing of them they are skittish, but i throw an item at 2 of them to despawn and the exclamation appears but when i revisit they don’t respawn, and i can’t get multiple in one battle either.
This is about RNG manipulation, which is using the psuedorandom number generator in the game to your advantage, finding methods to make it generate pokemon with stats or shinieness that you want. It's really fun and you get some cool results from it!
@@CappyCapital i know this isnt a question about the skittish pokemon and its about the static alphas. So i was looking for a shiny alpha lucario and i dumped the 2 pokemon and got the files like what you got with your blissey and then you went on to the alpha console app which i thought was the mmo checker one and thats why it wouldnt work, so i downloaded the alpha console one instead and tried looking for a seed and i couldnt find one. Did i do something wrong with the advances? (also just wanted to say thanks for your and the other guys hard work. in the mean time ima try at it again)
No, Voltorb is technically an aggressive mon and you can multibattle it. Whack each one with a piece of food or a cake or something, then throw your pokemon on the ground to multibattle.
Wouldn’t going back to camp after stunting them be considered revisiting when you wasn’t supposed to? And wouldn’t that changed the original path either way?
Couple questions I hope you don't mind answering, I'm new to this type of method (on non cfw). 1) does a Pokemon fleeing count the same as catching/KOing? As in, a single individual despawn? 2) why did you have to leave and come back with the last spawn of the first wave when the path was only 3/2? Not 3/2/c/c/L/c?

Dust: You could probably just sticky glob the Pikachu to give yourself a window of opportunity to fast travel away.
This needs to be shared far and wide. Worked like a charm.
Absolute legend for this. Just tried this and it worked for a regular eevee outbreak too. MVP MVP MVP
Thank you very much for your work, Cappy and Kurt!
I can finally have my shiny alpha Togepi line 😭

Thank you so much hero
How would this work if the group had something that wasn't skiddish, like if I had 3 Rowlet and a Dartrix, can I not do 4 at once?
I need to despawn 4 rowlet :(
how does this work for mons like basculin. I have to trigger a (2) but they never seem to get "!" when clonked with the cakes.
big fat W
Even if u can fight them...finding a an alpha shiney is insane...i don't think they exist
Wdym?? Alpha shinies do exist. I've got 4.
Works for basculins outbreaks?
Guess this is old and can't be used anymore it seems
What about skittish Pokémon that attack me before running?
They work the same, but might need another try because it's hard to tell when the flag is set for them to be running

super late reply but did you ever find a solution for those that aggro first then flee ?

@@grim9456 No.
I luckily managed to get a female Alpha Togetic since then, though. My most rare and lucky catch to date.
There are some skittish pokemon that don’t run away immidiately. And so this method may not work as well, do we know which pokemon are they?
soooooo gooood

Can this work with Abra? I have been trying to do this on Abra and even though I get red exclamation marks, it doesn't seem to despawn them.
Thanks bro
Unless I’m brain dead is there anyway for this to work with voltrob
voltorb is not a skittish pokemon
I’ve been permutation hunting chimchar and I seems like it only works for me in groups of 2 what am I doing wrong?
i think you just need to be super fast? i managed to despawn 3 rowlet not 4 yet u.u
Does this also apply to normal outbreaks for example eevee’s?
Yes it does! I've had one user in my discord showing off their collection of eevees.

Will we get a non cfw method for distortion only Pokémon?
Unfortunately no. Given that the seeds for distortion pokemon change even when you reset the game, there is no way to gather a seed and use it.
does this work with voltorb?
No, Voltorb is technically an aggressive mon and you can multibattle it. Whack each one with a piece of food or a cake or something, then throw your pokemon on the ground to multibattle.
Wouldn’t going back to camp after stunting them be considered revisiting when you wasn’t supposed to? And wouldn’t that changed the original path either way?
You don't want to stun them or they won't respawn djdnf.
Revisiting only matters when there are less than 4 remaining. Thus, quick travel does not alter the path.
what does "Revisit [3, 2, 1] " mean? When it is one number i understand , but what about multiple?
It's just doing multiple revisits. So in that case you'd revisit 3, catch 1, repeat, and do it once more for a total of 3 revisits.
This makes sense. Thanks!
For 2, I'd have to rewatch to figure out the path. But as for your first question, yes. a pokemon fleeing would count as 1 despawn.
