Mine passed at 17. She was the most amazing and gentle and well behaved dog I've ever had. Miss her so much. She crossed in my arms with kisses on her head.
You’re so gentle and reassuring with her .. really liked that.. even not pulling her out of carrier until she was ready.. and loved how she finally warmed up to her new home exploring .. sweet puppy ! Glad you protected her with the cats !
We have an Esky puppy and she's the 2nd Esky we've had. Our first one was with us for nearly 17 years and she was a treasure. Our new puppy is absolutely adorable and deeply loved but she's very, very, very, destructive. People should know that about the breed before buying one. We have gates in front of things and blocked off an area that's the least vulnerable and even there we have to have protective boards all around because she bites the walls, scratches off the wallpaper, shredded the rugs, and has shredded her new denim puppy bed. When she's calm she's wonderful but when she's excited she draws blood from our arms, hands, ankles and feet. She's smart and learned most commands at 10 weeks. The only one she hasn't learned is "NO BITE!". She began to bark at 11 weeks and is barking more now than our first Esky but it's not a problem. We chose the shy pup in the litter. Now I remember my mom telling me to never trust a shy dog because you never know when they may bite. We're trying to conquer all these problems as soon as possible. We're trying all the trainer's tips online. We thought we were well prepared from our past experiences and from reading some good training books. Maybe we should read them to her... because at 14 weeks nothing has worked to stop the biting. When she wants to play ball or brings us a toy to play with her or just wants us to hold her, she's our dream puppy. We hope some day she will be that way more often than the growling, fierce little pup attacking our appendages, slippers on our feet, the wood furniture and doors. We removed all the rugs. We look at each other every time she bites us and say, "Hopefully we will one day have her well-trained and our scars will fade." Wednesday we start puppy school with a certified trainer.
We had an eskie for 13 years until she passed away a couple years ago. I miss her, but not ready for another dog yet. So I watch other ppl's eskies. They are such a fun breed
She's definitely A lady. That's why she hasn't barked yet. She will when she feels the.need. Good luck with her.I had two americans eskimo boys. Rocket and bennie They were named after elton john songs. They are the best dogs ever. They are so playful. They love toys you never can give them enough. Lol. 😊
Hi Rachel Lin! Omg my hubby and I have 4 cats and an American Eskimo Lololol they all get along (most of the time) and there is always craziness and fun (and mess) going on...Eskies are sooo sweet! And mischievous 😏
owning a dog is a great experience being a first time dog owner and avid reader about everything dog though i can't talk about cat owning experience as i have never had a cat only fish, birds and now a dog
I got my american eskimo puppy 'Luna.' At 6 weeks old which I didn't have a clue that where Luna came from was a puppy mill which got shut down shortly after.
Hi there I am here because I am going to adopt Japanese spitz which look exactly same hope I will see more videos I.e how to care this white fluffy puppy♥️♥️♥️🐶🐶🐾
Hi, Rachel! We will be bringing home an Eskie puppy at about 9 weeks of age. We have purchased a wire crate that she can grow into but I would also like to get a plastic crate that we can more easily move around the house and put into the car when traveling. Would you please let me know what size and kind of plastic crate you brought your pup home in? How long did she fit in that crate? If you could send a product link, that would be fantastic!
Aww, an Eskie puppy, I'm so excited for you! Our plastic pet carrier is the called the Petmate Pet Taxi. I found a similar version online here: www.chewy.com/frisco-two-door-top-load-plastic-dog/dp/149278. Similar to you, we also had a big wire crate, which we put boxes in to make it "smaller" so when she was a super small puppy, she wouldn't have too much space so it would teach her that this is her bed area so she can't pee/poo in there haha. Now that she is bigger, Gigi sleeps in the full crate that we've added a pillow to and sometimes she will go sleep in there even when we leave the crate door open. We didn't really keep her in the plastic crate once we brought her home, but transitioned her to the smaller version of the wire create, since she couldn't really stand up in the plastic crate. Hope this helps, definitely let me know if you had any more questions! Good luck with your new puppy!! :)
She wasn’t in this video because we just brought her home. She was fully vaccinated 2 days later! But in the video we took her into our yard so she could go pee 🐶
Where did you get your puppy from? I'm in NorCal and I'm having trouble finding an eskie breeder close. But I don't mind driving to pick up, of course!
We actually got our puppy in PA! I went to college in CA, but am originally from MD, so we drove to pick her up. Here are some links for eskies in CA and nationally: www.californiatoyamericaneskimo.com/, www.puppyfind.com/browse/ (search by american eskimo)
Hi, I’m not sure if you are still looking but I got my Eskie at westcoasteskimo down in San Marco, Kelly the breeder is very nice and her pups are super fluffy. They are pure breed AKC pup so they are a little pricey but definitely worth the money if you are looking for an addition to your family.
Hello Rachel, your puppy is adorable! I'm also thinking of getting an american eskimo puppy and was wondering if this was a toy or a miniature? Thanks :)
She is a miniature! She is now a year and few months old and around 19 pounds now. You can see her size now from my more recent puppy videos! th-cam.com/play/PLP4j1YEYoPwrYh6ZZAh-XLCgwPmTGRZ08.html
She's cute. They all are untill they start acting like an alarm clock at 2:00 am. And then you get up to turn the alarm off, half asleep, somehow and realise you stepped on something gooey. Hope this doesn't happen with you.
