Great to see the Amigas back in the spotlight! Both the 500 and 3000 worked hard for their money back then, and it will be amazing to see them live again!
Nice! There are lots of options, but a fairly inexpensive way to get color video from an A500 is a GBS-8200 RGB to VGA adapter. Some people don't like the quality, but they are only about $25 on ebay. Of course, you need a way to plug it in to the Amiga and those DB-23s aren't too common. But that Amiga to 1084s cable might work, as it has a more common DB9 on the end. Good luck with that 3000. When I saw you had a 3000, my initial reaction was "sweet!!" quickly followed by... "Oh No! BATTERY!!!"... Currently have an A500 and A1200. You'll want to look into a Gotek too...
Desiv 1, thank you for the advice! I actually went a little crazy and ordered an OSSC! I mean if I'm going to do videos don't I have an obligation to give you the best image? right, that's it I did it for you... 😉 I also have a digikey order in for sockets and other parts for the 3000. And cap kits, and a diagROM... I better make some videos cause the budget is gone...
Thank You Warder! I am very excited to get them both working. I have started on the Amiga 500 and, after reseating all the socketed chips, it starts but I only have a 1702 monitor so its in monochrome. Many bits on order for both of them so I expect to have the 500 fully running in a couple weeks so you can expect a progress report shortly thereafter!
It looks like I have my work cut out for me! Back around 2004 I restored a Bally pinball machine with much worse battery damage but was able to buy a kit with all the components that were typically damaged by a leaking battery. Is there any such thing for the 3000?
Wow.. brings back Sooo many memories. I wish I had of not sold mine. It would be amazing to try and get an action replay for the A500. I had an A1200 and loved the AGA gfx.
That would be amazing! I always wanted an Action replay but never had one. I never did have a 1200 but I suppose I had better get the 500 and 3000 ship shape before I think about anything else!

Thanks Rick, to quote Barrie on the Amiga Facebook group "That's one hell of a gift". You'll see them both running again, soon I hope.
A quick update. After reseating the socketed chips in the A500 it lives again, albeit in monochrome, since I don't have a way to use the RGB port yet.

What a holy pair of glory to behold! Two of my favourites.
Thanks Ben. They are also very effective at keeping me from other things I should be doing!
Good luck on your Amiga rebuilds!

Hope you can get the 3000 fixed. Does not look good.
Thanks brostenen, I am sure I will get it working eventually. Because I MUST get it working....I MUST! 🤓
@@RavenWolfRetroTech Yup. They are too rare.
