I live and work in a very conservative part of the country and I work for a non-profit and our whole thing is helping people and lifting them out of poverty. I am really struggling right now with the things that my coworkers say about our clientele base. They blurt out the most unkind things like everyone must believe what they believe. I end up feeling so isolated because I don't agree with the things that they say, but I don't feel like I can say anything to them about it without getting completely attacked.
Sweetie❤️. If you figure out what you want (or don't want) to do abt your situation, would you post it? This sounds exactly like situations I've been in in the past, & eventually if it's bad enough, I always walk. Would like to know what you end up doing 👍🏼

First and foremost, please, exercise caution. Now-a-days, a disagreement over political ideology, or any ideology for that matter, can result in a physical attack. Having said that, I would remind my colleagues, in the kindest way possible that the reason for the non-profit is, in fact to help others. Obviously, they are in the wrong place, but sometimes jobs are just that, and people end up working in places they don’t belong. Remind them that most conservative values, or at least, what is promoted by conservatives, are the values of Christ; and His devotion to help those in the worst situations.
If nothing else, know that you don’t have to stay there. Sometimes, places or situations become too uncomfortable, so as to make us move on. You may have to make that choice. Take stock of your situation - list the Pros and Cons. Then, make your decision. Never forget that to do the most good for the most number of people doesn’t take a non-profit; it just takes a good will. Wherever you go, you will make a difference if you want it. God, Universe, or Whoever/Whatever lights your path be with you 🙏🏻🩵💛🩵
