Fortunately, humans, when they gather for pleasure and love don't have the same result as the "Africanizes" Bees. But I hope that all of you will be safe and stay safe. I would be so full of fear to deal with it. You guys are brave and honorable. I appreciate it.

I wonder, could you have something akin to small whifflebals or ping-pong balls with holes sewn between the layers of your suits to provide absolute protection from stings by guaranteeing clearance.

Hey Reed or even Hosh I have a question. I watch several honeybee videos and I’ve heard beekeepers say when they catch a small swarm or hive that they may “merge” these bees with a bigger hive. I’ve always heard Reed say that each hive is an enemy of every other hive so I’m confused on the matter. Can someone shed some light on this for me. Thank you
I'm not sure how or why anyone would do that. Of course that is what folks that are keeping bees would do. When I had bees 35 years ago, there were so may swarms that I could get I never even thought about joining hives. I do know that when introducing a new queen (re-queening) to an old hive it can take days for the old hive to accept her without killing her. They actually have to 'get used' to her scent! Maybe it's the same for joining hives?

After watching so many of your videos, I've noticed that you all start coughing when you get up into the hive and start removing the comb. What causes that? Is it the venom?
Yes it is. When they drip venom it gets in the air ad we inhale it.
