Sadly there are still a lot of people in Slovakia who support his actions and blame war in Ukraine on USA, western world and Ukraine. They love Russia and are deaf to all critics. It really is Pathetic that the EU allowed itself to become So Dependent on Russian oil & gas.. Why would they let themselves get into that situation? If only places could change their minds & started to support Nuclear energy options to collaborate with their power grid. That would really allow places to be a lot more energy independent. Countries would be Less reliant on fossil fuels. Countries could have efficient & stable electrical grids and then the rest of their power grids could experiment with alternative energy sources, they could power desalination plants, the list goes on. Anything would be better than being dependent on Russia for the majority of your countries heating & energy.. That's ridiculous

as long as sources of fuel existing in the EU are not exploited for PC reasons (like coal, natural gas, uranium, lignite, peat etc..), EU countries will need to import fuel. For instance, the Netherlands has huge natural gas reserves, one of the largest in the world (Groningen gas field), they are not exploited for environmental concerns..

The European Union's dependency on Russian gas is largely attributed to the influence of corrupt political decisions. This reliance must come to an end. It is imperative for the EU to undergo a decisive transformation to secure its energy independence. Nuclear power offers a solution to a significant portion of the problem, while the remainder can be addressed through the adoption of renewable energy sources and innovative technologies.

You are missing a simple truth: there is such a thing as global consumption of gas and oil, as well as their production.
Imagine that in your city there are only two bakeries, let's call them "A" and "B". If half of the residents refuse to buy from bakery "A", then they will simply have no choice but to buy from bakery "B". What will this lead to? All the remaining residents will simply be forced to buy from bakery "A", because there will be no products left in "B".
The gas that the US supplied to the Asian market is now going to Europe. Since the US is unable to cover all the demand, the vacated slots will simply be filled with Russian gas.
Yes, the Russian economy will definitely lose some percentage of profits, plus significant investments in infrastructure were required... but even if notional profits fall by a crazy 20%, the price fluctuations caused by instability as a result of such decisions will smooth everything out considerably. The expected "lost profits" will amount to $1-1.5 billion in the first year or two. This is not a small, but it certainly will not bring Putin to negotiating. At least for Russia is winning on the front lines.

None of this will improve the negotiating position of UKraine. The WHite House will not accept the terms that Russia wil accept and their pivot towards Iran will ensure that they will not change footing on decreasing long-term support. Russia will simply carry on while Ukraine continues to degrade more rapidly. It is also likely that in a few years after the end of the war, economies in Europe will turn to Russian energy once more. Businesses will demand cheaper energy and the European Union is facing too many economic hardships right now with the massive energy cost increase they've endured the last several years.

This video really isn't great. You're acting like Fico and Orban are evil people who want Russia to win or something, meanwhile they just care about their people in contrast to most other European politicians and want their people and industry to have cheap energy. That's why they want Russian gas. Not because they love giving Russia money.
The energy prices in my country are exploding, and we're struggling, all just because of our stupid leaders. Our politicians are supposed to serve us, but currently they are serving Ukraine. Fico and Orban are certainly not perfect, but I applaud them for at least trying to serve their people.
This useless war needs to stop ASAP and energy sanctions on Russia need to be lifted so that we can go back to cheaper energy and finally live normal lives again. Let's hope Trump is capable of that because our Leaders are obviously not.
