Thank you very much for an excellent video. I did a “cleanalong” today with my new gun. First time cleaning it after painting 4 liters. Very good instructions and surprisingly little paint to clean.

    Thanks for the video!
Do you do anything to maintain your turbine besides clean the filter?
I use my sprayer for epoxy paints.

Vert good video!!!! I just purchased a Graco 9.5 Pro HVLP. You explain things very well! Can you do a video on which needles you use and show how you spray to get great finishes. Maybe show me how you thin your paint or your system on how you thin paint for the gun. Ive been using Lenmar duralaq paint for my kitchen cabinets and dont know which needle is best for this paint. I also dont know how much lacquer thinner to use if I need to thin the paint. Thanks again for the great video!

Is this required after every use?

Thank you. That demo helped me to put my gun together since I could not find a manuel.

Pull the trigger before you unscrew the nozzle so it doesn't rub against the tip of the needle. Also, don't pull out the little nylon bushing unless you're putting a new one in. It's too easy to damage it.

I’m trying to switch out that adapter to one that fits the 3M PPS cups. Do I need to take the entire blue part off like you did? I’m trying to simply unscrew the adapter and it’s not coming off. The metal is chipping apart from the pliers yet, the screw isn’t coming loose.

I'd used a wrench instead of pliers

I used a 11mm wrench and a vice. The factory tightness is extreme and it almost felt like I was going to break off the adapter, but a slight counter clockwise turn will start to loosen the adapter. I also switched to the 3M PPS 2.0 cups. I purchased the Graco 196468 metal cup adapter and 3M S18 adapter for the PPS 2.0 lids.

Was looking to invest in this type of gun to reduce my cleaning time. Doesn't look like it is any more time-saving.

Nope, the fastest cleaning gun I've used is a Anest Iwata W-400. They spray amazing as well

How do you get that black ring to come off so easily? I've got to pry mine away from the cap and the threads are perfectly clean.

Did you soak it in lacquer recently? I just did that to mine and i'm having the same issue

@@SteneWoodwork I figured out a solution; I dip my gloved finger in some paint thinner (olive oil if using water based) and spread a thin layer around the lid and inside the black ring just before inserting the lid into the for liner cup and before pushing down on the black ring til it clicks then screwing it down-much much easier

How often do you need to take the spray gun apart (fully) with latex?

    • @SteneWoodwork
      @SteneWoodwork  4 ปีที่แล้ว

I spray mostly solvent lacquers through it, I’ve only sprayed latex based material a couple times 🤷🏼‍♂️

Wagner FineCoat gun is so much easier to clean, less parts and possibly more durable. Like the Graco compressor though, the one with remote pot.

Holy shit! I haven’t seen the colour of the metal on my gun for over a year lol

Ha! You don’t have issues with it spraying well? I’ve heard horror stories of issues with these guns when they get dirty
