I just ordered one too since I’m riding on the road more. I use to investigate crashes and trust me these help out a lot.
Hey thanks for insight. I'm loving mine. It was a bit heavy at first but now I don't even feel that it's there. I wear mine any time I'm on my bike, the risk of not wearing it is just too great for me. Ride safe out there!
Just ordered one of these. It made sense to get one. Good video about first impressions
Heck yes! I spoke with a first responder a while back and he said he's surprised more people don't wear these things because they absolutely make a difference. Ride safe out there and thanks for the comment.
Thanks for the review man, I think one day the majority of riders will wear one. I mean just look how some people resisted when seatbelts were invented lol. I’m waiting for my E-Turtle 2 to come in the mail though. I’m like you, I enjoy the ride but I also think the pros of wearing an airbag greatly outweigh any cons. Just wish they were cheaper!
I have not riden without my Helite since I've gotten it (other than practicing in a parking lot). It feels awkward when I don't wear it now, and not having a back protector in my jacket makes it much more comfortable. I have been seeing more and more videos talking about airbags vests so I think it's catching on. I'm sure in time they'll get even better and cheaper. Ride safe and I hope you enjoy the vest!
Helpful video, thank you! Definitely going to score one of these...the sizing grid is interesting. I'm only 5'9" tall, 170 lbs with a 40 inch chest and the matrix has me at a size XL. I understand it goes over my normal riding jacket (which is a Medium) but never purchased anything in XL before....is there leeway in the fitting via the front straps? Better to size up versus down?
There is a lot of adjustability with the straps. I was in-between XS and S. I went with the S. My straps are at their tightest setting and it's perfect. The problem I've run into with mine is it fits my chest well and when I'm standing, but when I'm in the saddle the vest is so long it gets pushed upwards a lot and I can sometimes feel it on the bottom of my helmet which is super annoying. I would get the large and go from there. I know it's a hassle but Helite has free returns. Hope that helps a little! Ride safe.
I should mention the jacket that I wear is size S and there is plenty of room for the vest to go over. I don't think I've ever felt that it's too tight before even when it's cold out and I'm layered up.
Thank you! This helps a lot. I think I’ll go with the Large. Let’s hope we never have to put these to the test 😊
quite surprising 99% of street riders doesnt wear airbag jacket/vest thats y many are getting seriously injured or death when the unthinkable happens.
I'm surprised as well. It must be how "uncool" they look. I'd be lying if I didn't feel like a loser sometimes wearing it, on top of my already lame hi-viz gear. Safety is top priority to me (and my family) though. I want to take as much risk out as possible, I need to make it back home. Ride safe!
It offers no shoulder protection.. go with the tech system
I like the amount of neck protection the Helite has though which I would say is a more critical area to protect. I really hope these things get more popular though. I'd love to see way more options. Thanks for the view and the comment! Ride safe out there.
Shoulders heal, being paralyzed won’t. Also the tech system is “electronic” system ain’t it? I’d rather the airbag actually deploys…
@@Cj-xl3jv tell that to someone who had this on and broken their collar bone at the shoulder!!! And can’t lift ur hand over ur head no more .. as I said the tech system protects the shoulders n collar bone as extra ! . Both are around the same price !! Go with the tech.
@@Cj-xl3jv the turtle has a e system too ! So what’s really your point?
@@obeii1805electronic systems are famously unreliable. I had the Klim A1 airbag and it failed to inflate for a 15 MPH spill. Tether systems are the only ones I would trust. Just personal experience.
