This is 3 takes cut together as I only have 1 go pro and 1 DSLR so vocals go out of sync a bit in a couple of spots but you get the idea :)

+Alban BERNARD (AstroMusik) my vocals run thru ableton live. I use in built compressor and a plugin called psp vintage warmer. I also then run simple delay and tiny bit of chorus on the fx send so I can get clarity out of my main vox channel and the extra colour and decay sits behind that.
I love your videos and you have extraordinary talent. Can you do the same performance using looping in Logic X? if so, how? I never used Ableton.

It is actually the trumpet sound in kontact (native instruments) just add some compression and reverb though as the sound on its own is pretty dull. Sorry for slow reply!

Hey Pludo, I like your style man. Quick questions: what is allowing you to record/loop sounds recorded via mic? Is that the XL or is that all ableton?
the XL is just a controller. It triggers looping via ableton. if you click the "midi" box in right hand top corner all your functions turn blue. This means you are in mapping mode. You can then assign whatever function you like to whatever button or dial you like. N.B - that in preferences link/midi you need to make sure you have the "remote" button on of whatever device you have connected.
Logic is a great DAW. A lot of great producers using it, however it is geared towards use in the studio. There may be some plugins you could use to do something similar in Logic but I think you would not have the same flexibility! Ableton has some very unique features that make looping very intuitive. Once you have learnt 1 piece of software its alot easier to learn another.
also alot of the VSTS/plugins you use in Logic will work in ableton so its not a completely new language.

Sorry for slow reply! It will all depend on how many channels you want to run and what Vsts you use. Buy the best machine you can afford. You cant bury your money with you! N.B - if you are using it live careful that it never overheads otherwise it can choke!!! I have literally had to sit my laptop on giant fans just to get through shows before.

where did u get the sound effects of your launchpad pro and how did u arrange it please let me know sir thanks a lot.
I use the drum rack in ableton live and then you can load each individual sample in. The trick is to play what you want on keyboards and record the audio. Then you splice up that audio and drag it across into the drum rack.

I use a motu soundcard which connects to my computer via firewire. My noice plugs into the motu sound card. Also the roland drum pad plugs into the motu card midi input. The launchpads and keyboard all are plugged into the computer via USB. There is no noise through the vocal mic as I am wearing headphones therefore there is no speakers playing. How do you do the live looping in Ableton Live?
Stu Demarkles Hi Stu, there is two ways. 1. There is a plugin that comes with ableton called 'looper'. This function works great if you want to just hit record and then 4 bars/8bars later it will automatically loop (you can set how long). 2. Ableton has two modes 'clip mode' and 'track mode' (which is more like Cubase/logic/pro tools) . If you are in clip mode you will see all the squares above the channel. If you hit the record button on that square, play what you want to loop and then hit it again then it will loop. If enough people are interested in this I could probably do a video.
