This is absolutely wonderful. I am one of the younger members of the VC as well and it is pretty intimidating. I have only been collecting for about 4 years as well but I absolutely love this community. In Rainbows is such a fantastic album! Best of luck to your channel! Btw being from Australia are you familiar with Flightless records? They are out of Melbourne. They have a lot of Modern Psychedelic artists somewhat similar to Tame Impala on their label.

I gave up on Radiohead after Kid A but I've heard people say In Rainbows is very good so I may give it a shot sometime. May I ask what was the Smiths 12" you showed? thank you ! Radiohead's second album is definitely better than their first, that's a good one, not sure why I didn't think of that 😂In Rainbows is absolutely amazing! I think there's definitely some songs on that record that you'd appreciate if you prefer Ok Computer/The Bends era. That 12" was Stop Me If You Think That You've Heard This One Before, one of my favourite songs by them ever. I think that 12" may be worth the most out of all vinyl I own. My auntie bought all of the original Australian releases at the time.

A lot of people know about Turn on the Bright Lights, but there’s not enough love for Antics in my opinion! I’m posting a video later this week all about my Smiths vinyl.. so look out for that. I definitely need more more used vinyl. Once quarantine is over I’m going to go on a hunt where I live to a store I haven’t been to before, and I’ll see how I go with that. THANks so much :)

I tried looking for a record from 1996 and so far haven't found one. Wait a minute, I found one! A double 45 by. Edith Frost on Drag City records. There are some flexi discs that are probably 1996 also. I live in California so there's way way way too many records from my state to love or have favorites of. Everything from fave Doo Wops like The Letter by The Medallions or maybe Richard Berry's "Have Love Will Travel" to the thousands of groups etc.. from the sixties...just overwhelming! Which Jefferson Airplane song does a person pick?? How about "rejoice" because it's not well known and intense. Currently..who's from California? I don't even know! As you must know by now I have too many records. Fun video as always!!

@@kirawasadiver I honestly don't know...thousands for sure. I once decided to trim down the number and sold about 1000 and it didn't make too much of a dent. I thought of a very unique record. Sun Ra's Night of the Purple Moon album. My copy has this handmade cover with a photo of the band and then some writing in colored pencil all covered with a vinyl shower curtain! Crazy!!

Now I have a rule that I have to sell a record for every one I get. I'm so far from cities with record stores that it's a bit of an issue. I used to sell them locally but the store closed. I'm a vinyl addict! Help!
i knooow! i didn't realise until a few years after acquiring them. now it makes sense that my auntie had one condition when passing them down to me - 'don't sell them. ever.' - she wants them kept in the family haha. thank you so much!
A collection doesn't have to be big to be worthy of the name 'collection'. Did you sound a bit apologetic at the end because you don't have many? Quantity is never the point. There will always be someone who has more of whatever than you have, just like there will always be someone who has fewer. A small collection doesn't mean one isn't a collector. In your videos it comes across how much you love your music and how happy it makes you to get your own personal copies of the stuff you enjoy, and that's the thing. Some collectors just accumulate stuff, but yours sounds like a genuine interest and passion. I thank you for sharing it.

I feel like the vinyl community is with 45+ or under 25. (Like born mid 90s or later, millennials end 93-95ish) It’s Gen X and popular and Gen Z. And less so millennials, they are making tons and ins of stuff from 2002, for example the Lizzie McGuire Movie got a vinyl press!
yea, other vinyl lovers i've met in my life have either been 45+ or born between 93-95, you're totally right!! i wonder if it's a generational thing, as a lot of parents pass on their love for vinyl to their kids. my millennial brother has a couple of vinyl for the aesthetic haha but no player.

I feel like the vinyl community is with 45+ or under 25. (Like born mid 90s or later, millennials end 93-95ish) It’s Gen X and popular and Gen Z. And less so millennials, they are making tons and ins of stuff from 2002, for example the Lizzie McGuire Movie got a vinyl press!
yea, other vinyl lovers i've met in my life have either been 45+ or born between 93-95, you're totally right!! i wonder if it's a generational thing, as a lot of parents pass on their love for vinyl to their kids. my millennial brother has a couple of vinyl for the aesthetic haha but no player.
