I really like how you show each plants when they are fully matured. I wish all nurseries/growers will have pictures of their plants in their mature stage

Sometimes that's hard to do but I try. Thank you glad you enjoyed watching this.

It would help if you mentioned what type of CA climate each plant is native to. We have so many varied ecosystems, from Redwood forest to dry desert, mountains to islands. Otherwise, this is a good selection, and it's great to see many of these plants.

These are beautiful. I took cuttings off a Catalina silverlace to propagate it. It worked. It’s hard to find but once I saw it I took the opportunity to get cuttings.

I just discovered your video series and I’m so excited about it. I have a California Native front yard and I haven’t quite figured out how to take care of it, so your videos are a great help. Now I need to go visit your nursery. THANK YOU. 🙏

Thank you. Side note, technically I'm not directly associated with Tree of Life Nursery. I'm just a customer and a designer that loves to use their product. If you have pictures of your garden I would love to see them.

creations landscape designs Ok, I will. We had a lovely Chilean Mesquite in our front yard and we took it down yesterday because it was about 35 feet high and about 45 feet wide. It was taking over and left a horrible mess. It was way too big for our yard. I now want to replant with something that won’t be so messy, or need to be trimmed so very much each year ($$$). It had even grown over the driveway. I would like another tree that would cast some shade but not take over. I’ve also thought about 3 smaller trees in a cluster? I have been trying to educate myself somewhat about trees, which is how I found you. I will take some pics and send them. Thank you for writing back. -My Best to you, Marci V

I love to learn more about the California Natives. Im in the process of changing my backyard garden adding plants that can grow with minimum water or care.

Tree of Life Nursery in San Juan Capistrano, offers lots of lectures on Saturdays about California native plants. They have a video on their TH-cam channel about caring for them.

Thank for the lovely ideas! For the clevelandia sage, do you suggest cutting back in the spring and if so, how far down?

thank you for this video! i love the Eriophyllum nevinii! not familiar w/ the Erigeron glauca 'Arthur Menzies', but will look for it. the plants which you show in the ground and with flowers show really well - but just in container pots do nothing to illustrate it. my favorite Erigeron glauca is 'Seabreeze'! the Salvia 'clevelandii' you show is actually leucophylla - not clevelandii. The Hesperaloe is not a california native, but IS a southwestern native [texas].

This is interesting. At Tree of Life nursery they have it categorized as just Clevelandii. Then again they all look the same to me hahaha
