Hello 👋, Your video is spot on Sam 👍Something I wanted to mention to anyone reading this just as a caution ⚠ that I try to do every time while doing a electric fuel pump on early vehicles without lots of computer stuff is to disconnect the negative on the Battery to eliminate any chance of random spark while working. Beware of cars with theft mode stereos codes stuff GM blazer/Tahoe. 2nd is Never use a electric ( plug in the wall extension cord style) drop light. Battery powered flashlight 🔦 only. Ventilation is key as well. The fumes like to linger low to the floor when cold out if you're drop light falls and the bulb 💡 blows BOOM!! 🔥 NOT GOOD. I'm only mentioning this because it's useful knowledge I learned over the years and may help someone from burning down there house ,garage or a customer car. Always enjoy your videos. Thanks for reading this. 👍

@@paulshea2560 hey Paul, you make a lot of really good points here in this comment and I'm glad you're putting it out there because if people are using you know drop cord lights the classic original old style mechanics lights then. Yeah they are possibly a problem in that situation but I got away from those ages ago because of the fact that they're just troublesome you always have a bulb you have to be careful with and you know you can't get too rough with it. If you drop it it can break a bulb inside and then you have to go get another bulb and and then it also has to be like you know the rough service bulb and then you also have extension cords and cords going everywhere. And not only that you got all the heat coming off of one of those lights and they're just I've never been very crazy about them. I like the small or even the large LED mechanics lights that have magnets on the ends and all kinds of things like that that are just way way better. But I'm glad you did bring all that information up. And I want to say thank you very much for watching the video and thank you for your comments

Thank you for watching the video and thank you for your comments. And yes, your fuel pump will be next to your alternator on the carbureted models pretty much 1987 and back if you have any further questions feel free to ask

Also forgot to add this earlier. 88 and later Dodge trucks have the electric fuel pump in the tank because of fuel injection 318 and 239 engines had fuel injection starting at 88 and later on up $360 got the fuel injection n89

@@slantfish65sd also, why wouldn't gas pass if all I did was replace fuel hoses and a new fuel filter.

@@HeavyJay1421 hey just seen your comment. Sorry about not getting to it sooner. As for gas, not passing, not getting to the carburetor or the fuel injectors, It could be a weak pump. Make sure you did not hook the wrong lines in the wrong places. If we're talking about a mechanical pump, usually electric fuel pumps will have different size lines for supply and return usually also make sure that the sock in the fuel tank isn't plugged up. One other thing you can do is unhook the fuel lines from either the throttle body or the carburetor. Whatever you have then get this. Only works if you have compressed air so you got to have an air compressor hook the air compressor hose up to a blow nozzle and then take the blow nozzle. Put it into the gas filler hole. The same hole that you put your gas into. Wrap a rag around that end of that blow nozzle to take up the big gap. You want to seal up the gap between the nozzle and where the fuel goes in. Once you do that, start putting air compressed air shooting compressed air into the tank. The fuel tank. When you do that you're going to pressurize the fuel tank and you're going to push fuel to the front up there to the carburetor. Okay now you could also disconnect the lines at the mechanical fuel pump if you have such a thing and you could also do this okay there could be some plug or something plugging the fuel lines. You can also do this backwards whereas you take the lines loose fuel hoses lines from the mechanical pump. Push in air into the tank from there from the fuel pump. Mechanical fuel pump back into the tank. If you do that, you should be able to hear bubbling of the air bubbling in the gas in the tank and then of course the most basic most obvious thing. Please make sure you have fuel in the tank

Just let people figure it out for themselves, "I dont recomend using gasoline" 😅😅 Well, the way the world is, maybe its time to let common sense thin the herd😂😂

I want to say thank you so much for watching the video and thank you for your comment. As for your comment I do want to say that you know a long time ago people used to things were just very different back then a long time ago people would mess around and find out now. Not so much now. People will have some sort of accident due to their incompetence and ignorance and if you are trying to help some of these people you have to put in your videos. I listen. Don't do this. Don't do it like this. You know etc etc so the problem is I have to put in the discretionary information in these videos so that people don't go and blow themselves up hurt themselves because if you don't, it'll be somebody that'll come along and do just that and then they'll try to get a lawyer and get a lawsuit against you for all sorts of silly nonsense when they should have enough common sense to realize. Hey you know gasoline's flammable maybe we shouldn't be having electrical scars around it. Just a thought so you know there used to be things that would come out every so often and people say oh well. This is foolproof. Which is very similar to Bill Engvall he came out with a slogan. Here's your sign and if you don't go and spoon, feed it to people anymore, they'll go and they'll hurt themselves about 10 or so. Years ago the buddy of mine was working at a scrap yard to handled all kinds of scrap metal. He goes and he's picking up this large tub. Very very large metal steel tub. He's picking it up off of the ground and when he does that he doesn't realize that there's this very foolish person that's on the property not far away. So this very foolish person realizes they have a perfect opportunity that where they think they have a perfect opportunity to go and get some sort of lawsuit against this scrap yard. What they don't realize is that no they don't and The very foolish person decides to go and literally run full blast into this metal tub while it is being suspended in the air by a forklift when she hits this tub with her head and her face. Of course there was a thump and that thump resulted in her having her nose being completely crushed and her having significant impact injury to her face. Also, it resulted in that tub almost completely falling off of the forklift

I sent that to you before I finished. I wanted to also say that she thought she had a case against this scrap yard. Well she didn't because there was all kinds of signs saying that she wasn't supposed to be in there and she actually crawled underneath it locked gate to get in there in that area where that forklift and that large metal tub was at. So yeah I have to say stuff like don't put your electric drill or any other electric appliance in any sort of container full of gasoline. I have to say stuff like that. Why because of people that run into large metal tubs. Suspended on the air on a forklift cuz some people seem to be completely brainless
