      Joy would only be one word we may use to describe! This tank has already once been fully restored during the 90s and sadly left to die under bad circumstances. It was in extremely rough shape when we got it. Stay tuned for its ''In depth Walkaround and live fire power'' video to come soon.

    How's the driver's station in that? The pedals being on the lower glacis makes it seem like your posture would be pretty miserable.

    • @MilitaryArmamentsCompany
      @MilitaryArmamentsCompany  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The drivers station is surprisingly comfortable. This tank has a lot of room inside. This is attributed to its large surface area to gain buoyancy during floatation. Stay tuned for more in depth video and live fire presentation.

    Awesome machine, amphibious tanks have always been very interesting to me since by nature they have to make a lot of design sacrifices to make sure they don't become improvised submarines.

    During your restoration, did you notice if the PT-76 had any "waterproofing" features that aren't present on normal tanks?
    I've always wondered if they had extra sealing mechanisms around hatches and inside the turret ring to prevent water intrusion.

      @MilitaryArmamentsCompany  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      On the contrary, This tank in particular is not a true tank. Only the turret would be even considered ''minor'' armor. This vehicle holds its size due to large surface area to maintain buoyancy during amphibious operation. The concept of Pt76 was simply to move an artillery piece over water and rivers without the added logistics of bridge laying equipment. The NVA attempted to use this as a tank in Vietnam against a Special Forces base, due to the fact that this vehicle has almost no amour, the US anti tank weapons were mostly going right through them. There is 1 account of a PT76 absorbing a dozen or so 66mm Anti Tank LAW rockets, causing no real effect to the tank.

      No one knows where this Pt76 came from. Our best guess was it was used in Syria and captured by Israel however that information is long lost. It does have small arms damage on it. To our knowledge, outside Vietnam there are no known captured Vietnamese armour in private hands.
