I cut a access panel in my bed and I'm sure glad that I did because I'm putting my fourth one in right now but I have a delima, all four of the tangs are rusted off
Great video. I am going to have to do the same thing to my 2004 GMC. The gas gauge no longer works. I have done this job twice before to a GMC and a Chevy truck. But both times we removed the bed bolts and set the bed back for access to the tank. I no longer have anyone to help me remove the bed of the truck. I had never heard of a transmission tunnel before and looking in the bed of my truck I do not see a removable cover. Is it still possible to drop the tank and do this job without a transmission tunnel? Thanks in advance for your help and excellent video. My truck bed also has the black rubber bed liner sprayed in it so that may be covering an access panel.
There is no access panel, easiest way is to do what i did in the video. Use a transmission jack and take the tank straps off. Lower it slowly to prevent any damage to fuel lunes.
Its alot harder without the video and step by step of knowing how to do it. If it's too much than pay someone to do it. My channel is giving u the option to save the money, yay u gotta put in the effort but what doesn't take effort now a days?

So no need to remove anything to prevent fuel squirting all over the place??
do you have the key on?
💯
Thanks for watching!!
damn i swear its hard to find youtube vids
there shouldnt be much fuel in the line unless you have the key turned on, then I can't help you
The lock rings always unlock by turning CCW, and lock by turning CW. 20-30 minutes to do this job completely? Wishful thinking.
If you have power tools and a transmission jack this is a simple repair. You got this Jeff!!!
Made easy?? Easy is titled the bed and not dropping the tank.
