Please consider using coco coir instead of peat moss: it is far more environmentally friendly.

if you use green fishing line, it would be invisible ... just a thought, not a complaint or criticism ...

Thank you for this very informative video, it took me ages to find an appropriate one like this. Everything is said and shown what I wanted to know, so thanks for your hard work!
PS: it would be nice if you'd share a lil smile or two... ^^

Hi. Nice kokedamas! Can I use high porous soil that I use for my succulents since it’s a succulent that I want use? Ty

Moss NEEDS water constantly. You'll rot your succulent or dehydrate your moss

tibicen linnei that’s what I wonder about? Are succulents actually good to use for kokedama?

@@rubyc.4311 unfortunately probably not. :/ it could last a short while but it'll eventually get too wet or dry and either plant will suffer

Actually I’ve made a few with cactus soil: I water once a week and theses little guys are a couple years old!

You can make succulent ones. The moss on the outside of the ball is only one way to finish the ball. Some are completely wrapped in twine. I have one that I used soft fly screen netting to hold the cactus medium. I line a small pot with the mesh and then filled with wet cactus/succulent medium. The mesh acts like a pouch for the medium making it easier to hold it together whilst you wrap with twine. Mine I also put a thin later of dried sphagnum moss around the medium pouch before wrapping with twine just to allow a little extra water retention.
