This show is going to be amazing. A MAPPA x Madhouse original, with the director of Demon Slayer episode 22, as well as the storyboarder for Attack on titan season 4 episode 16. Not to mention top tier Madhouse and MAPPA staff

Mafumafu and Ryo (Supercell) are 2 of my favorite composer/singers ever and this song is kind of a dream come true to me, it's absolutely gorgeous. I also feel like it has a lot of Umi no Yuurei from Kenshi Yonezu in some parts too!

I highly reccomend people who don't know Mafumafu to check him out! You guys will find so much comfort in his songs and his voice! His music just makes you feel that you're understood and not alone with your struggles, he's screaming all his feelings out loud with his music and there isn't a single bad song from him!! @@Kkubey You'll know how to rate how good an anime is when you're experienced. The anime isn't bad, but it's not for you if you're looking for something to remember. It only has epic fights and the animation going for it.
@@Arifudesuu big disagree. It tackles a lot of really difficult themes and centers them around music and sacrifice. Takt+Destiny/Cosette is like a beautiful analogy of memory beyond death, and music carrying emotion and passion and carrying on. Like, Takt is literally looking for "his" song, and he learns it from Destiny/Cosette. IDK, I think if you're talking from an exteremly superficial level you're right, but even a cursory dive in to the characters, especially near the end, carries a lot of depth.
Other example, Lenny died, but Titan is still around - this can mean a lot of things. Titan represents music, sure, but she also carries all of her memories of Lenny and will always have tendencies and impressions of the world shaped by her time with him. Musicarts are not ephemeral, they are lasting just like music is but they change, develop and take on new meaning, character, and develop over time with more influence from other great conductors and the people they are in contact with. This whole concept is mirrored again with the connection between Anna and Destiny/Cosette. There is an immense amount to unpack about the emotions, feelings, and motivations of all of the main cast.
IMO the weakest story point and character is Sagan. But Sagan was NEVER meant to be a driver of anything except the plot to give a climax to the love story between Takt and Destiny/Cosette. It wasn't about the destination, but more about the journey and how that journey left lasting impacts that you can see all the way through to the end, especially ending with Anna - someone who wasn't a musician, conductor, or anything else - becoming a conductor+being able to turn in to Destiny (literally an embodyment of music). The whole overarching point being that music changed, motivated, and developed Anna just like Anna changed, motivated, and developed Destiny/Cosette.
I think saying the fights and animations being the only things going for it is pretty shallow tbh.
This opening is such a banger. What a powerful combo Mafumafu and Gaku make.

*Potential spoilers for the Takt: Op Destiny anime*
*So I decided to do a theory on what this song is about just because I was bored and I noticed something very interesting about the lyrics so just bear with me for a sec because this analysis is gonna be pretty long. I maybe might be over analyzing this but it doesn’t matter, the song slaps.*
Ok so the composer of this song is Ryo (supercell) and he is mostly known for making the classic Vocaloid songs like Melt, Odds and Ends, etc. which are all sung by Hatsune Miku. The thing about his music is that it’s very story based and the same thing goes for this song in particular.
To start off, what is this song for? In whose perspective is it in? This song is mostly in the view of our mc, Takt and it tells basically his entire backstory.
If you read the lyrics of the opening from 0:00 to 0:45 it talks about the journey Takt’s past with the foreshadowing of regret (this might be foreshadowing what will happen in the ending of the anime or his backstory) the “we” in the lyrics is probably the past he had with Destiny (the main girl). To start off his past, Takt finds out about music in 0:49. The lyrics “I’ll take you to that song, to that time, that night.” is probably directed to Destiny as they watched the night stars together. “The nostalgic memory” confirms that the opening of the song talks about his past at 1:19. In 1:30 it says that he’s lost someone, this is just a theory but this is most likely Destiny (but she’s alive right?) well yes, but she most likely lost her memories or emotions. This explains why she acts and talks so robotic in the anime. His past is probably going to be shown later in the anime on how they both became a Musicart and a Composer (Ready your tissues). They probably got attacked by a D2 or something and Takt had to became a composer to make Destiny use his life force in order for her to live or smth idk it’s just a wild guess. The main reason why the characters are going to New York in the first episode, as Anna said (the one with the ponytail) was because they wanted to “fix” Destiny. In 2:03 Takt now doesn’t use music as a way for entertainment but as a coping mechanism, this is proven even more because he said he would die if he couldn’t play anything for a while which was seen as a light joke at first but probably isn’t after reading the lyrics. The lyrics go on about nostalgia and stuff and about Takt’s eventual decline into depression. In 2:27 we actually got confirmation that either Takt was in love with Destiny or vice-versa (which was pretty obvious tbh). He probably hates the current Destiny because she acts nothing like the old one that’s why they always get into arguments. The rest of the song ends with him trying to get their old memories back and that’s it. You guys can add stuff in the replies like if I missed some details because that would help a lot.

Oh my, so I just came after watching the first episode at 1am at my place, just to listen to the opening by Mafumafu, Supercell and Gaku. ❤❤❤ I absolutely love the song and the anime, especially to the animations, soundtracks, concept and everything! Madhouse and Mappa definitely knows how to make things wonderful and loveable; with many ending to be masterpieces. I hope that I will continue liking it till the last episode! 😆😆😆
