I am a Software engineer in the uk I would like to reach out to him. What he said are true, you need great deal of commitments and dedications to succeed. You don't need a degree but it is better to have a degree if you can and have the time but it is not compulsory. Please note there are differences between Software Developer and Software engineer.. you are software engineer if you have a degree in software engineering or computer science and built a career in Software engineering. You are a software developer if you don't have a degree but learnt to code and built a career in software development. Most times people use those two words interchangeably but they are different. At the end of the day, they both get same salaries except some top end companies that differentiate between the two. It is like equating a Mechanical engineers to a Mechanic. Yes as he said the pay is good in the uk and many western countries and to succeed you need someone to mentor you, it is absolutely impossible to do it by yourself. I would love to see more Africans in software development as it is dominated by the Asians. In my career over the last 16yrs have met very very few Africans and I hope this changes for better soon.
Wow!!!! I'm blown away. He made it sound so easy. He's good at what he does.. He has made me to start considering having a career switch.... keep up the good works...
There is a shortage of software developers across the world, not just in the UK, Nigerians are getting software developer jobs from Nigeria across Europe and are been flown abroad to Dublin, Germany, the Netherland etc. If you are ready to put in the work, you can't go wrong.
Ok! I've always been in mechanical and construction engineering field, I just completed my masters in Engr project management. But after watching this video, I'll categorically say, it's time to try being A software developer
Hi kingsley / Ada , im a father from Nigera fascinated by your interview . What you do is my sons dream studying software engineering in Turkey already which would have been his delight and mine to get an oppurtuniity to practically learn . Though im looking forward to move him to UK probably but has not materialized. Still like to reach you to see how possibly he could learn more from you as mentor
