      Love the vids and appreciate, but downvote for the clickbait title making me think this is a lesson. In a way it is, but in another more significant way its really not. Atleast not at my level.

    Common dialog of all these Super GM's in online match "I wish I knew some theory here"
    Later on says "I always thought bishop should be retreated"
    Finally wins the game so easily. I wonder are they actually know the theory pretending not knowing. :(

    • @Roberto-bf7us

      Their definition of "knowing theory" is very different from lower level players, that seems very simple to me.

    • @user-gc2jx4gj2q

      It's a safe hedge, if they somehow lose they can always claim "my opponent was booked up on this line". And if they win they take full credit.

      @@Phurngirathaana No, seriously they're aware that it won't look good if by move 20 they still can say I've seen this position before or something very similar. It just kills it, you know, but that's how modern chess is, all these super GMs know tons of theory. Much more than they're willing to admit.

    • @foraminutethere23
      @foraminutethere23 3 ปีที่แล้ว +27

      They've studied so much theory that they can't remember it all. So they remember bits and pieces and hope that they aren't playing into a line that is bad for them

    0:26 Ian Nepomniachtchi " QUEEN E2 FOR REAL ? " maybe this was the wrong move but i'm not sure i am not a grand player, queen e2 blocking her own bishop f1and the white pieces start were in insecurity in doing long castle directly after this Ian was attacking with queen c7 opening on the c columns, the fallowing move for the black pieces against the long white castle, later b5, later bishop c8-b7, later rook a8 to c8 again later knight d7 to b6 and once again later for to do jumping his knight b6 to c4, the black pieces attacks on the king side wings were very fast and nearly direct, i am thinking before to play queen e2, probably a better move bishop f1 to d3 and later to try short castles but i'm not mr Najdorf, mr Najdorf has done a good game so, good game from both

    • @gdsfish3214
      @gdsfish3214 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No Qe2 is a theoretical and normal move in that position. Nepo acted surprised because these lines tend to be super sharp and require tons of grandmaster-like memory, which he did not expect from a casual online game I assume. But that's just my theory.
