It isn’t real easy, but they can be repaired. You need to take the control box off and take the circuit board out. Find the transistor that is burnt and replace it. You need to know someone who is good with soldering and electric components. I am lucky to know someone that is. Mine cost less than $20 to fix. Actually nothing. My buddy that fixed it bought 10 transistors for less than $20 and didn’t charge me anything.
Mike, I am a little confused. This video is about the Honda 2.3 HP service. Are you talking about the control box on the pedals? Mine are potted so it would be very difficult to remove the potting without damaging other items in the box. Gerry
I started watching this video before lunch and because we had all the kids and grandkids over today plus I put a new battery in my Daughters car I just finished it at 11:30PM. There's a lot of info here and it's a smart idea not to take the wife's new roaster pan. I will have to do this to my Honda soon and this is an awesome instruction video Gerry and Thanks.
Hi Gerry,thanks for refresher course on Honda maintenance. The engine oil plug is a little tight to get at so I cut a 6” pc of sch 40 pvc pipi and cut a small notch across one end to snuggle fit over raised portion of oil plug. Makes it a lot easier! By the way I went to get roasting pan from stove but I think my wife over heard you(I’ll use my air buds next time)she was standing in front of stove with shotgun and said DON’T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT!!!!
Hi Gerry..we talked about me getting a TT but in the Spring. Well it is Spring and I am getting the TT itch. Am wanting to get a lithium battery n charger. Does the lithium battle born trolling battery 100ah fit the TT battery compartment or am I going to have to make some adjustments….such as cutting or shaving?? Ty..Paul Kendall..St Paul Minnesota.
Paul, I can only tell you my experience. I purchased my TT new and it came with a battery box. My Battle Born 100AH battery fit inside that battery box with no modifications required. I love that battery and the charger they have for it. Gerry
