@@CarlosRios1 i learnt about operating systems, and managed to make one that implements ps/2, gdt, paging, acpi, pcie, usb and has a nice windowed gui with uefi as a bootloader. im also incredibly proud of myself, i wanted to do something like this for 4 years now but i've always been scared off. now i made my own path that goes parallel to the most people's and it worked out.
I think a larger launch pad area would help you get better spin; it doesn’t have to go far to end up on the grass, which adds friction and therefore slows your spin. A hard metal wire, placed vertically and inserted in the center underneath could also help to guide it straight upwards (much like the Estes rocket launch pads)...

Some other time I'd personally love to see giant versions of those snake-growing things and those "snap" thingies that explode with a loud snap when you throw them. Not as cool to look at, perhaps, but those were the only things I was allowed to use growing up. Lots of nostalgia for them.

Try firing a bullet made of frozen mercury.
You need to shoot in a transparent gel and take a close-up with a slow-motion camera.
And it’s better to make a transparent gun for firing.
Dry ice is needed to freeze mercury in the form of a bullet.
It would shatter into dust before it leaves the barrel
Wouldn’t it just work just as well as a normal bullet since making mercury really cold would make it as strong as normal metal.

It might be more successful using staging. One first stage rocket engine taped together with the second stage. The first stage engine has an ignition charge & no time delay rather than a standard ejection charge for a parachute.

I enjoy living vicariously through you. Back when I was young in the 1990s I got into fireworks making. Primarily mortar shells, with rice hulls, iron filings, then I started making color changing stars in a brass tumbler affair. I was making my own powder with charcoal grape vine too. By the time I started making 4" shells, I had a haunting feeling ( while pressing wet powder into cakes in a metal pipe with a hydraulic jack) that I was also pressing my luck, so I stopped. Lots of fun though!

I love watching this. I'm so happy to see your excitement in pursuing this hobby. I'm a 73 year old engineer and 35 year member of the PGI (Pyrotechnics Guild International). I started making my own black powder when I was 12 years old. Watching you is like watching myself through a time machine. You should investigate joining the PGI, they can provide a wealth of knowledge. Oh, and quit buying those expensive motors and make your own...it's really easy. Keep up the good work, have fun and be safe.

check out my comment about that failure of the engine. its probably because its a large diameter estes. those larger BP grains are more likely to have thermal expansion contraction issues or mishandling during shipping, retail, or consumer handling. it creates cracks in the grain. the burn follows the cracks and increases the surface area being burned exponentially as the grain is consumed. instead of going woosh its more likely to go POP. CATO - or catastrophic take off in rocketry - often occur for this reason in BP engines.

I think the error you made on your spinning pill is to put more thrust when you needed more fuel. Try combining them in "series'' rather than in parallel. Also the high pitch will be more efficient as your craft will have time to gain rotational speed.
