I loved Dan Haggerty And Ben his bear . say whatever happened to Ben? How was it that Dan was never repkrted for getting injured by Ben? How did he escape from his bear claws?
*Fantastic Documentary!* I loved his character (and the shows themselves) in both, Grizzly Adams and The Dukes of Hazzard. I have the entire Grizzly Adams collection on DVD - and to this very day I enjoy watching them. _Times were sure better (for everyone) back when family shows like that was our primetime television programming._ Great video - thanks for making it!
Same here, became one of my heroes with Grizzly Adams then the Dukes. We don't have actors or shows that entertain and give a example to strive for and not preach at you.
I ALWAYS APPRECIATED his GREAT acting ability. Whatever show he did ...you knew it would be good because he was in it. Thank you Mr Skinner for another wonderful story. 🍃🌎🕊

He truly us an Icon and is heavily missed by me. Thank you for another great insight into the stars we still view because of your caring hand. We all need to care for one another every chance we can.
Almost every weekend or most weekends I see Denver Pyle on MeTV in one western or another. He's always going to live on thanks to all those great shows he did. I appreciate the fact he liked being called by his character name "Uncle Jesse" from DoH because it represented a good man with the old values. A lot of actors shun that type of thing, yet he embraced it and his fans. Sorely missed...

Once again, as expected, Jerry’s work shines with emotional satisfaction. Good job. Love the old photographs accompanying this story. God Bless you and yours in 2019.
Most enjoyable, Jerry I grew up 2 houses from Denver Pyle's dad, Ben in Stockton, Ca. Mr. Pyle (Ben) was a wonderful kind man like his son, Denver. As you mention in your documentary Mr, Pyle told me he had named his son Denver after the Capital'. I spent many hours listening to Mr. Pyle stories and now wish I had written them down. Thank you for the memories.
I know right. My husband wqkes me up in the morning sometimes to tell me Jerry has a new video. I wake up @4 am and tell him play it. Jerry's videos are like my morning coffee. Gotta have it. I introduced my husband to his videos 2 yrs ago and now he's as addicted as I am. He's so sweet to. When i e-mail him or post a complement he always thanks me. He's definately a southern gentleman.
These presentations are so enjoyable. You handle each featured person with such respect and care. These are a beautiful way to remember why we loved these actors so much. Thank you.
My husband and I were talking about Denver Pyle just the other day. I was wondering if he was ever a little boy! He always seemed older in all his shows. We were also talking about which character actor had the most parts; we were thinking maybe it was Denver Pyle; he sure played in a bunch of shows. Thank so much Mr. Skinner; love watching your documentaries.
You have some of the best and most respectful sites on the internet. I love your work. It brings back warm memories, nostalgia, and wonderful reflections on past times. Happy New Year, Sir.
Loved Denver. My family left Eastern Washingtons Okanagan by horse and wagon for Seattle 1921, my grandmother's younger sister was Retta Scott of Disney, the first woman to be recognized as a woman Disney illustrator "Bambi 1940". Thank you for the video Jerry. [EDIT] Do you think they crossed paths? Lol.
Dukes of Hazzard was my favorite show as a kid. I have the dvd set of all 7 seasons. I always liked the Uncle Jesse Charicter Denver played.. He was a great actor . R.i.p. Denver pyle.

Bravo! one of your best. Denver Pyle was and is still beloved. I have to say , his MAD JACK part was the best. And he helped make the show Grizzly Addams one of the best most wholesome shows to ever be put on TV
Excellent video Mr Skinner!!! You continue to honor these fine actors and you give us the facts, good and bad :-) James Best lived just down the road from us in Hickory NC, he spent the last years of his life helping young actors and was a huge supporter of our local theater. These good men deserved to be remembered, thank you :-)
As a kid I grew up watching Denver in various black and white tv shows, but my favorite will always be when he played "Mad Jack" and "Uncle Jesse". I'm currently watching Grizzly Adams like I do sometimes. Mad Jack, Number 7, Grizzly Adams, and Ben will always take me to that happy place from my childhood. RIP Denver.
Great episode. I've also seen a very young Denver Pyle in an old Hopalong Cassidy episode. I also enjoyed watch Denver in many episodes of Bonanza. Thank you & kind regards from Adelaide, South Australia 🇦🇺.
