- Cake Rusks are a very famous teatime snack in Pakistan. These cake rusks are made by drying slices of cake sponge in the oven. This recipe is best for bakery-style cake rusk. You can make them at home and enjoy them. Usually, you can find good quality cake rusk in the price range of 1000-1200 rupees in Pakistan but you can make them cheaply by this recipe at your home.
Ingredients:
Oil 200gms/1cup
Sugar 200gms 1/cup
Eggs 6large
Baking Powder 3tsp
Salt 1pinch
Vanilla Essence 4-5drops Vanilla Extract 2tsp
All Purpose Flour 300gms 2cups
Yellow Food Color 1pinch

The suggestion about the wire rack is good. I make Almond biscottis with Almond flour and we leave them in the oven for some time at the end on wire rack.

Just some extra info incase it’s useful for anyone...
One could use a pinch of turmeric too if colour isn’t there or if one wants a natural alternative. A pinch will not alter the taste.
Also you may not need to add colour if using desi eggs since their yolks are darker yellow/orange colour.
Another fun fact ... The process of eggs one at a time is also called emulsification (mixing oil and water based ingredient). Same process is used in making Mayonnaise and also in making the Middle Eastern garlic sauce Toum.

@@yzhhzbxxhxj5192 Walaikumassalam. Aap oven ka temperature thoda sa kam karke dekhiye. Zyada temperature hone se bhi cake zyada jaldi rise hojata hai or top per crack ajata hai.
