Something that people miss frequently about TLOU infection. Fungal infections are extremely dangerous in the long run. The start of the infection signifies why its so dangerous as it infested many crops leaving the point of orgin. The part people miss is that fungal spores are extremely hardy, with most being able to remain dormant in soil for 50 or more years, with some being know to have survived for centuries. Fungal spores have zero metabolic activity and are resistant to UV light, radiation, heat, drought, flooding, etc. This kind of thing has happened before, bananas literally used to be sweeter in the past, but the original domesticated crop was devastated by an eventual world wide fungal infection, one that has essentially made the vast majority of the fertile soil inhospitable for the crop. A similar thing would happen in TLOU world. Any soil where an infected has died at ANY point within the last 100 years would essentially be unusable by humans. Any attempts at agriculture would essentially start a new outbreak as the grown crops would likely become infected again. It also means that something as simple as eating some food you dropped in a house where spores were released in the past has a chance to infect you. Walking out into a dust storm for example could also infect you, as the wind picks up top soil containing the spores and sending them right into your lungs. Even should humanity survive the initial outbreak, and all those zombies eventually eliminated, the basis of modern civilization, agriculture, would be impossible for at least 100 years. Humanity would be reduced to small pockets of hunter gathers, and every pocket that has an exposure event would result in the area being unhabitable for another 100 years. This outbreak is essentially the end of humanity, or at least human civilization.

The Sadness ( a Taiwanese movie ) really made the zombies much more terrifying. Even the spread was unpredictable, I feel like that'd be the worst zombie apocalypse out of any other. And not only will the 'zombies' devour you, they'll literally violate you and/or rip you apart slowly but surely for the sake of pleasure. They're still alive in the sense that they can talk and such, but they basically give into this horrible urge to violate & brutally rip apart at the same time.

The way they fall to death off the wall until the ones before them cushioned the fall without any self preservation got me. Also the only cure being them thinking you are already dieing is terrifying. The fact that it got to the point that everyone left willingly injected themselves with another problem really shows the threat level.
L4D1/2 would suck because you can get infected by breathing the same air as carriers, and if you try to save someone (like the l4d2 crew who are most likely carriers due to the fact that when they escape in a helicopter the pilot gets zombified) they could be carriers. And the fact that Tanks, Smokers, Witches, ect, is pretty scary. Also we can read on a wall "they don't eat, they don't sleep, what keeps them going?" On a wall which could mean that they can probably last for a long time. And the fact that even if you get to the military they will most likely use you as a lab rat.

The infected in the movie The Sadness has got to be the most frightening, pretty sure infection rate is extremely high and it started in the morning to mid-day before almost everyone either died or became something that has a functioning brain looking to kill you in the worse way possible
I think that you underestimate how long it would take for a person to aim for the head and shoot. Not to mention that accuracy would be a problem as with sprinters you miss once and will probably be bitten or at least grappled.
If there is an apocalypse and I see sprinting zombies or zombies that run fast, I’m staying my ass inside. I refuse to be killed by one that can run faster than me
I just realized that's one of the things that are really terrifying about Train to Busan is that, while the zombies themselves don't move super fast, the speed of the actual outbreak outran a high-speed train.

I find Train to Busan super scary because the zombie deer implies the ability of the virus to be zoonotic, or able to spread between animals. All it takes is one cat or bat to spread further
How scary is it to think about mosquitoes spreading the virus. You could be infected without a zombie in sight. You don't even have to worry at that point about the virus being able to be spread by other animals. If it is zoonotic though that is end of humanity plain and simple. If spreads to mice, or really any vermin it will be literally everywhere and impossible to stop.
One zombie movie with a terrifying outbreak was the Canadian horror film "Blood Quantum (2019)." in that flick, a small city and a Native American reservation are at the center of a zombie apocalypse. Though the city was overrun because of the rapid spread of the disease, the reservation's population find out that they are immune to the disease, though the zombies will still try to bite and eat them if they get caught by the monster. The situation gets even worse when the protagonist police chief Traylor's oldest son Lysol and his followers decide to unleash the zombie apocalypse on the White survivors that took refuge within the reservation alongside the local inhabitants as he is determined on a path of racial cleansing against the people he sees as a greater threat than the zombies.

I suspected he didn't look into some games/movies properly, but I didn't know most of them that well, until my favorite zombie game was mentioned: 7 days to die. It was reduced to a basic zombie infection with Minecraft mechanics, and just about the same as dayz, boy did you drop the ball... There are runners, very quick dogs, infected vultures, cops (high health, projectile vomit), spider zombies (extremely agile) demolishers (carrying explosives that can be triggered by bullets, explosions, etc...), whites (very high health, agility and damage) and other variations. All of that combined with the fact that any of the prior zombies can be feral, which means they're vastly superior in strength, speed, health, etc... And more importantly, they smell you so they can easily catch you off guard. They also have a sort of hive mind so if they're together in a room and one sees you, others nearby will be alerted. BUT the most important part is their hivemind connects and enhances every 7th night, so they'll know where you are, become somewhat feral and track you in big hordes that can analyze where you are to find the most efficient way to get in (easily destroying walls and such). I've never known someone who both treats Minecraft as a children game and has intelligent opinions. I know engineers who build the craziest contraptions there, from makeshift builder robots to a copy of a very old computer with basic functions, which is very hard to do with just redstone stuff, and I know creative artists who play it for fun while making beautiful statues, houses, etc...
For me the Dawn of the Dead Zombies and how the outbreak showed was such a shock for me that i got nightmares for weeks as a kid from this. Second movie was Land of the Dead.
Seriously, Plants VS Zombie's outbreak is the most devastating. Zomboss is terrifying because he's just an incredibly smart zombie and is able to build giant robots. Plus, the zombies in his army are smart enough to wear equipment such as football gear, and wield weapons or protection.
Yeah, they can use pogos, ride vehicles, and vault over obstacles. If you're talking PVZ2, they are able to retain memory, since you see piano zombies, fishermen zombies and surfing zombies.

I think TLOU outbreak has to be one of the scariest and most realistic. They are still technically alive and think like any predator. Also being to spread without the host realizing is very scary.
@Hairy Potter & The Moist Clitoria Cordyceps hasn't infected humans so bad that it has sent the whole word into a lock down. I'm pretty sure there was one thing a while back where people were getting infected through food consumption due to the food having Cordyceps in it. When people had first consumed the infected food, Cordyceps went unnoticed. It wasn't until after people had eaten it it was realized that the fungus was inside it. But there is no saying that it cannot happen again sooooooooo we'd be screwed if CBI happens.
Upon first infection when the fungus is still spreading or is in the first stage of CBI, the host of the infection would be fully aware of it. The second stage, the Runners, are still aware of what's happening to their bodies. So the host would technically know and the ones around them would probably quickly realize.
Why on earth did this have a warning that it was offensive content? I have seen such awful and violent and sexual things is on TH-cam that had no pop-up warnings. But a video about zombies? Really. TH-cam is ridiculous.
Personally the scariest zombie plague I ever saw was from a little flash series called zomborg apocalypse(sadly never finished) but these were terrifying in concept, if you managed to kill one or damage it after a few moments it would come back to life regenerating with robotic parts sometimes with even stronger abilities, there was even a shot with a huge one that looked like it had gone through this process a lot. At sizes like the tank in left for dead except made of metal and flesh. Sadly we never found out how humanity could take them down and for years I’ve speculated how to take them down landing only on creating a virus that is both biological and technological or some form of very large emp but both seem difficult with the later seeming temporary at best
the only reason the military get overwhelmed in zombie films or tv shows like the walking dead etc is because it’d be boring if the military handled things straight away

I think the civility of society is the variable in some of these universes would increase the scores. Romero zombies are slow, but the fear and conflict of the protagonists, and the world at large, plays a huge part in how successful survival on a mass scale would be in my opinion.

i watched a show called All of Us are Dead and there’s an entire nursery of zombie children 😭 i think it was the first time i saw zombie kids other than the few in TWD & perhaps WWZ
The Sadness ( a Taiwanese movie ) really made the zombies much more terrifying. Even the spread was unpredictable, I feel like that'd be the worst zombie apocalypse out of any other. And not only will the 'zombies' devour you, they'll literally violate you and/or rip you apart slowly but surely for the sake of pleasure. They're still alive in the sense that they can talk and such, but they basically give into this horrible urge to violate & brutally rip apart at the same time.

Regardless of the zombie type, having someone wake up from death and attack would overwhelm most people. Not to mention the ones who get bit just think the dead are crazy. After a few days, especially in hospitals, the horde could grow quite large. Also in World War Z, there were “quislings” that helped confuse people because those acted like a zombie but were human and easily kill able.

The way they fall to death off the wall until the ones before them cushioned the fall without any self preservation got me. Also the only cure being them thinking you are already dieing is terrifying. The fact that it got to the point that everyone left willingly injected themselves with another problem really shows the threat level.
L4D1/2 would suck because you can get infected by breathing the same air as carriers, and if you try to save someone (like the l4d2 crew who are most likely carriers due to the fact that when they escape in a helicopter the pilot gets zombified) they could be carriers. And the fact that Tanks, Smokers, Witches, ect, is pretty scary. Also we can read on a wall "they don't eat, they don't sleep, what keeps them going?" On a wall which could mean that they can probably last for a long time. And the fact that even if you get to the military they will most likely use you as a lab rat.

Now that Dying Light 2 has been out for nearly 2 years, your conclusion on Dying Light was actually pretty damn accurate. If it weren’t for the GRE after the Harran outbreak the world at large would’ve likely never been infected since it’s somewhat implied that Nighthunter Crane was captured by some organization, possibly the GRE (Hence the cut audio logs of Waltz trying to acquire Crane for testing during the second outbreak)

The infected in the movie The Sadness has got to be the most frightening, pretty sure infection rate is extremely high and it started in the morning to mid-day before almost everyone either died or became something that has a functioning brain looking to kill you in the worse way possible
I think that you underestimate how long it would take for a person to aim for the head and shoot. Not to mention that accuracy would be a problem as with sprinters you miss once and will probably be bitten or at least grappled.

I find Train to Busan super scary because the zombie deer implies the ability of the virus to be zoonotic, or able to spread between animals. All it takes is one cat or bat to spread further
How scary is it to think about mosquitoes spreading the virus. You could be infected without a zombie in sight. You don't even have to worry at that point about the virus being able to be spread by other animals.

I suspected he didn't look into some games/movies properly, but I didn't know most of them that well, until my favorite zombie game was mentioned: 7 days to die.
It was reduced to a basic zombie infection with Minecraft mechanics, and just about the same as dayz, boy did you drop the ball...
There are runners, very quick dogs, infected vultures, cops (high health, projectile vomit), spider zombies (extremely agile) demolishers (carrying explosives that can be triggered by bullets, explosions, etc...), whites (very high health, agility and damage) and other variations.
All of that combined with the fact that any of the prior zombies can be feral, which means they're vastly superior in strength, speed, health, etc... And more importantly, they smell you so they can easily catch you off guard.
They also have a sort of hive mind so if they're together in a room and one sees you, others nearby will be alerted.
BUT the most important part is their hivemind connects and enhances every 7th night, so they'll know where you are, become somewhat feral and track you in big hordes that can analyze where you are to find the most efficient way to get in (easily destroying walls and such).
I've never known someone who both treats Minecraft as a children game and has intelligent opinions. I know engineers who build the craziest contraptions there, from makeshift builder robots to a copy of a very old computer with basic functions, which is very hard to do with just redstone stuff, and I know creative artists who play it for fun while making beautiful statues, houses, etc...
For me the Dawn of the Dead Zombies and how the outbreak showed was such a shock for me that i got nightmares for weeks as a kid from this. Second movie was Land of the Dead.
Seriously, Plants VS Zombie's outbreak is the most devastating. Zomboss is terrifying because he's just an incredibly smart zombie and is able to build giant robots. Plus, the zombies in his army are smart enough to wear equipment such as football gear, and wield weapons or protection.
Yeah, they can use pogos, ride vehicles, and vault over obstacles. If you're talking PVZ2, they are able to retain memory, since you see piano zombies, fishermen zombies and surfing zombies.

I think TLOU outbreak has to be one of the scariest and most realistic. They are still technically alive and think like any predator. Also being to spread without the host realizing is very scary.
@Hairy Potter & The Moist Clitoria Cordyceps hasn't infected humans so bad that it has sent the whole word into a lock down. I'm pretty sure there was one thing a while back where people were getting infected through food consumption due to the food having Cordyceps in it. When people had first consumed the infected food, Cordyceps went unnoticed. It wasn't until after people had eaten it it was realized that the fungus was inside it.
But there is no saying that it cannot happen again sooooooooo we'd be screwed if CBI happens.
Upon first infection when the fungus is still spreading or is in the first stage of CBI, the host of the infection would be fully aware of it. The second stage, the Runners, are still aware of what's happening to their bodies. So the host would technically know and the ones around them would probably quickly realize.

Personally the scariest zombie plague I ever saw was from a little flash series called zomborg apocalypse(sadly never finished) but these were terrifying in concept, if you managed to kill one or damage it after a few moments it would come back to life regenerating with robotic parts sometimes with even stronger abilities, there was even a shot with a huge one that looked like it had gone through this process a lot. At sizes like the tank in left for dead except made of metal and flesh. Sadly we never found out how humanity could take them down and for years I’ve speculated how to take them down landing only on creating a virus that is both biological and technological or some form of very large emp but both seem difficult with the later seeming temporary at best

I think the civility of society is the variable in some of these universes would increase the scores. Romero zombies are slow, but the fear and conflict of the protagonists, and the world at large, plays a huge part in how successful survival on a mass scale would be in my opinion.
The Rec movies are another Zombie outbreak series. The American version of the first movie is called Quarantine. Which had it's own sequel.

Umbrella doesn’t even need to get involved for it to mutate. A lot of the time, the viruses mutated on their own. Those giant spiders, sharks, etc. mutated by themselves. I don’t think a lot of people realize just how crazy resident evil monsters can get
