Jethro Tull should obsoletely be in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. How other blues and rap performers are in ahead of this band is criminal.

    • @philmus1

@@mackydog99 Maiden would have had them on the show like a shot. Both Bruce Dickinson and Steve Harris are huge Tull fans (and you can see the influence). Indeed the split which led to Dickinson leaving in the early 90s was that he wanted to go down a more Tull influenced direction whilst Harris wanted to go back to the stripped down sound Maiden had started out with.

fyi: Jethro Tull was an English agriculturist from Berkshire who helped to bring about the British Agricultural Revolution of the 18th century, born 1674. He perfected a horse-drawn seed drill in 1701 that economically sowed the seeds in neat rows, and later developed a horse-drawn hoe.

I saw them either in 1981 or 1982 somewhere in Germany. I was stationed there. It was general admission so when they opened the doors to get in we ran and ended up in the front row in front of the stage. I remember there was a guy with blond hair playing an electric violin that was pretty amazing. After the concert, we went into a restaurant on the other side of the parking lot. We figured we would get something to eat while waiting for all the traffic to calm down. There weren't many people in the restaurant but noticed after we were there for a few minutes they stopped letting anyone else in. That's when the band came in and sat down not too far from us. We said hi to them as they walked by but did not bother them after that.

I was really glad when they got inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. A lot of people said they didn't deserve it because they weren't rock & roll, but they couldn't be more wrong. They are the epitomy of rock & roll. Their musical arrangements, their music , their concerts songs and lyrics it's all rock & roll. Ian's talent with that flute can not be matched even by guys like Kenny G and others like him. It's out of this world. Locomotive Breath is one of my favorite Tull songs.

Found Jethro Tull in college. Have several albums, 72 now, still sneak a loud listen when i need a pick-up. Just a great band. PS: don't know who was more fun to watch, Ian or Joe Cocker. 😊

I saw Cocker live in concert it was awesome. Outdoors in '78 @17 yrs old. Tripping on acid made his movements even crazier. The best show I'll never forget it. Wishing I'd seen Tull.

@@susieq2n60a spastic Cocker, a Susie on acid. Helluva combination. One thing we had was great weed & hash and great music. Didn't Credence do the Susie Q song? Take care ❤
