When I just started playing subnautica and didn't know anything about it, I went to the back of aurora thinking this is the entrance. Oh how wrong I was. Ended up so scared I dropped a beacon and named it "Do Not Go There" just to avoid this area better.
When I played for the first time, I remembered that you needed to go inside Aurora at some point. And since there were no visible entrances(It didn't explode at that time), I went to the back of Aurora(turbines). After several minutes, I guessed that there were no entrances. So there's the thing, I turn back and see that the Reaper, like a fucking dolphin, is flying in my face out of water. I didn't know that there were reapers in the crash zone...
It was sniffing around for them. Once it smelled that they were on solid ground, they knew they couldn't proceed and swam away. But they're waiting. They always wait for you.
you got the reaper killer set going on too. if you grapple onto the leviathans you will be dragged by the leviathan and can drill them to death. It's so satisfying too bc they don't respawn once killed.
I feel really guilty when killing subnautica's fauna, I can't stop thinking "I'm the one who's invading their space 😭😭" and then just run away and hope they don't fkin kill me, I can't help it
earlier today I was trying to lure a reaper to the shallows (in a desperate attempt to un-beach my cyclops). i had previously lured him to some grassy plateaus some few hundred meters from where i needed him to be. he would not fucking aggro onto me. he was too busy with stalkers and sand sharks and he kept clipping out of the map.
I’m sorry, you wanted to un-beach a cyclops and your first thought was to lure a REAPER? I’d have just abandoned it at that point, you’re braver than me.
There’s actually tons of useful things over there if one is brave enough to get them. Supply crates, mineral deposits for basic base building. The worst danger, funnily enough, is not the Reapers. It’s the lack of food and water. If you don’t prepare well long beforehand, you could run out of supplies and be forced to make a mad dash for home. Then the Reapers will be sure to spot you. Imagine if you had to do this at night! They can still “see” you, but you won’t see them until it’s far too late.

Pero justo hoy estaba jugando Subnautica, y estaba prácticamente en tu misma situación, detrás del Aurora tratando de entrar porque no sabía por donde era, con la diferencia de que solo tenía el Deslizador ya que soy nuevo. Mi reacción al ver a un pez enorme por primera no tiene precio. No soy tonto así que obviamente traté de evadirlo y seguir buscando la entrada. GRAVE ERROR. No pasó mucho para que encontrara otros 2; ellos me encontraron a mí, mejor dicho. Escuché un rugído que me hizo apretar las nalgas y apenas voltié tenía un leviatán decidido a comerme y tenía otro nadando por debajo, para colmo estaba a 1,5km de mi cápsula y el deslizador tenía 13% de carga, sabía que la había cagado en grande al haber ido sin siquiera haber construido el Seamoth. Ni siquiera Outlast me había hecho sentir tanto pánico. Luego de casi orinarme en los pantalones logré llegar a mi cápsula nadando ya que me había quedado sin batería. Fue a una auténtica hazaña haber escapado de 3 Reaper Leviatans estando yo metido en la blca del lobo.
yo por eso ni me acercaba si no era con mi seamoth, lastimosamente no estaba dispuesta a pasar esos sustos, tuve suficiente con el leviatan fantasma que casi me destruye mi pobre equipo u.u

Stalkers and Reapers have both done this to me. I lost 4 seamoths to Reapers. 2 got crushed and 2 are stuck in the air.. I'm on number 6 now. The 5th seamoth imploded.
i first played subnautica by my friend and the game looked interesting it was very fun and when i saw a big ship my first instinct is go there and see if you can enter it with was the case but it didn’t explode yet my friend didn’t let me go there however and i think im happy about that
Im like 85% brave and 15% stupid. Idk why but I don't have a fear of the ocean. In real life, I would NOT do this but put on some nice music while playing the game and I just forget about the reapers. Its a funny thing because if I have a fear, its looking at the sky. Something about that huge moon terrifies me in the game so I find myself deep underwater. I guess its a case of choosing a lesser of two evils.

I’ve recently got subnautica to actually play and see what the game was like even though I watched a lot of TH-camrs play it and never thought it was scary until I actually start playing. The scariest moment was when I stumbled across the they are multiple leviathan class life forms are you sure what you doing is worth it and before the pda said the first few words a damn reaper jumps at me and then roars in my face without a warning and I was in my sea moth so he grappled me there until it broke and I was so scared I screamed out loud and closed the game because by the time it had roared it had already grappled the sea moth and it didnt do the initial roar to see where you are and I didn’t even hear one prior to this and this is also the scariest moment in my life. Just thought I’d share.
The first time I ever saw a reaper was at night near the Aurora. I was swimming on top of the water when I suddenly got launched into the air and I looked around to see what happened and just saw a black silhouette of a reaper with glowing eyes. Somehow, I escaped.
This is what I call a "Shit your britches" bundle. Nearly falling into the void in the crash zone, check. Be at the back of the Aurora, check. Encounter a Reaper, check. Have below 80% hp, check. Have too many near misses and close calls. Everything that happens here is cinematically *HORRIFYING*
What i think is that the creators had a skyline for a reasons and once passed reapers would start to spawn but if bugged or falling down or still going up but thats just a theory
The scariest moment was when I was exploring the alien structure where the gun is Arriving at the control room a reaper leviathan passed by just before my eyes I swear I screamed with full capacity
