LN definitely put their own spin on it, and not in a bad way! it's just so different that it makes me really realize what i love about each artists' signature sounds. Krule's resonant jazz guitar riffs and profoundly poetic lyrics are offset by his starkly booming voice. LN, on the other hand, use melodic chords for a more ambient feel, with a few riffs for definition. their vocals fit their sound in that they are laid-back and feel at ease. Although Krule's original still wins me over, LN did this song justice by bringing in their own elements to the song.
love this cover. huge fan of both king krule and local natives. i really don't see how they are "taking away" from the emotions of the song, just because it's a different rendition.
I'm sorry that i dont get why people are so against Local Natives covering this. I heard this version before King Krule's original, so maybe that has a lot to do with it, but i think both are beautiful.
2021 e continuo amando essa música. Te amo Local Natives And hate runs through my blood Well my tongue was in love But my heart was left above I’ve got to be leaving now I thought I’d never be shot down But girl I’m black and blue So beaten down for you Well I’m beaten down in bloom Don't break away I waste away Don't break away And lay me out across the grey Hours I should have kept at bay Well I had a chance to get away I can’t escape my own escape Even more when it’s sweet to the taste Red stairs lead sense astray I look up and seek for faith Oh but girl just lean over and say Well lay me down Pull me out Well take my crown again He’s submerged in doubt But wait, I make my last request See this could be the best But blue I need to rest See I been broken down So much has lost it now I just stop and say Girl don’t you worry ‘bout a thing Baby, blue
whoa whoa whoa i am a huge fan of this band covering what is also a fantastic song and i JUST DISCOVERED THIS VIDEO WWOWOOWOWWWWW OFFICIALLY DECEASEDSSS
I've been a fan of Local Natives way before i ever knew who King Krule was recently i've been listening to his music and i like it a lot i think Local Natives did a very nice cover to his song though i do think Krule's is better, obviously its his song. both are great.
People are so eager to shoot this bands cover before they even listen to the whole damn thing! Yes King Krules version will always be the best because HE wrote the fucking song!! But I honestly think that Local Natives added such a beautiful factor to this song, just the way everything sounds its so beautifully in sync thats it feels...cosmic. It takes you to another place and the way it picks up the pace in the last few seconds its absolutley beautiful. The original version is unique. His vocals, the guitar, its so imperfect that its perfect, it feels like im listening to a human soul (if that makes any sense xD) Point is both artist have different styles and clearly each style brings out something completely different from each other but equally as amazing. Now shut up and appreciate the goddamn music because thats whats important!!
They definitely did this song justice. King Krule's version is disjointed and off-putting, in an amazing way. And this, it's just easier flowing and in true Local Natives style, full of perfect harmonies.
Local natives def did a good job, I appreciate both artists and their versions, if you hate local natives to begin with then you're most likely not going to like this song. Just get on outa here
I would say thaynka Krule for thr somg/lyrics but im sorryyyyy Local Natives owned this song. First thing i felt listening to this is rdflecting on my wlole life, i come back if im feeling lost but man the whole sound of it 🔥🔥🔥🔥
allmediareviews.blogspot.com I am a King Krule fan, and I think this cover is amazing! Why can't people enjoy both for what they are? King Krule made a timeless song and Local Natives made an amazing tribute to it. I love it all.
Honestly I believe local natives did this song justice. King Krule's voice in my opinion isn't the greatest. So when the local natives gave this song a go they added great vocal harmonies. Just an opinion though.
2019 and still undervalued
I had no idea this existed and they're both hella faves I'm a terrible fan
same literally just now
sameeee
oleeee! same here
This song compliments the original. I would love local natives to cover my music if I ever made any
I would love to have this on Spotify
This is the weirdest yet the best crossovers I've ever seen

Absolutely gorgeous cover! The best. Almost better than the original
I think it is better than the original

love this cover. huge fan of both king krule and local natives. i really don't see how they are "taking away" from the emotions of the song, just because it's a different rendition.
The original and cover are both amazing, love them both!

And hate runs through my blood
Well my tongue was in love
But my heart was left above
I’ve got to be leaving now
I thought I’d never be shot down
But girl I’m black and blue
So beaten down for you
Well I’m beaten down in bloom
Don't break away
I waste away
Don't break away
And lay me out across the grey
Hours I should have kept at bay
Well I had a chance to get away
I can’t escape my own escape
Even more when it’s sweet to the taste
Red stairs lead sense astray
I look up and seek for faith
Oh but girl just lean over and say
Well lay me down
Pull me out
Well take my crown again
He’s submerged in doubt
But wait, I make my last request
See this could be the best
But blue I need to rest
See I been broken down
So much has lost it now
I just stop and say
Girl don’t you worry ‘bout a thing
Baby, blue
ONE OF THE GREATEST COVERS EVER
They did justice to the original. love this.
if i never heard this i wouldn't never know who was king krule.
Now, I’m after all of your bbqs. Imagine that.
whoa whoa whoa i am a huge fan of this band covering what is also a fantastic song and i JUST DISCOVERED THIS VIDEO WWOWOOWOWWWWW OFFICIALLY DECEASEDSSS

They definitely did this song justice. King Krule's version is disjointed and off-putting, in an amazing way. And this, it's just easier flowing and in true Local Natives style, full of perfect harmonies.
Wow fantastic cover
And people are arguing about which version is better. Congratulations.
wish they would play this live.
one of the best covers of this song *
also they made the last verse longer, which is nice.
Local natives def did a good job, I appreciate both artists and their versions, if you hate local natives to begin with then you're most likely not going to like this song. Just get on outa here

Brand new fonts
If only the Turin Horse had music in it to help you make it through
krule does it better obviously, it's hissong. BUT this is a good local natives' song
Is it just me or is this song better than the original?
it's just you
definitely it is!
Where is this footage from?
It's from a film called "The Turin Horse"
Sorry this is 10 months late
No problem friend! Glad I finally got my answer.
Honestly I believe local natives did this song justice. King Krule's voice in my opinion isn't the greatest. So when the local natives gave this song a go they added great vocal harmonies. Just an opinion though.
Only King Krule can do this properly.
eh, to each his own this song is perfect.
Kayla Wilson no.
Exactly why I said to each his own :)
+ Kayla Wilson 👍
I like this better
Alway wondered why people even dislike video's. Now I know.
No one can do King krule like King krule man
Sounds good, just don't sound so viceral and desperately as a family man could tell his story. Not hate just my perception.
the guitars are great but i hate the vocals
King krule way better just saying
this is kinda wack....im sorry.
