    Shirani ! I made this exact recipe and my husband loved them ! your instructions were spot on. I did have alittle trouble with my masa being slightly sticky and I had a sticking issue when taking out of the plastic after pressing in tortillas press but I switched to 2 sheets of parchment paper and was able to pull off the tortillas fine 🙂. You have such a great channel and your recipes and instructions are just awesome 👌

      Leave it there till you are ready to use it. That's just so it doesn't dry out.

      @@CookingwithShiraniyes a make sure a get it lol. Mines was okay as well. Mi girlfriend they made a big pot a Relleno(black dinner) they cook the chicken whole and stuff it with grind pork and a had mi corn tortilla too.

      I don't really let it rest long. Just until I get everything else ready so maybe 5 mins.

    Every time I try to make these they’re too wet/soft and break when pulling it off the plastic or it’s dry and they break. 😩

      Oh no, I'm sorry to hear that Jessica. Too much water will make it wet/soft. Not enough will make it dry. Just play around with it till you find out what works for you.

If I have leftovers I just put them in a bag in the fridge. I always freeze the store bought ones though. I never really checked how long they last but I would say a few months.     Loved your method and I, too, love how they inflate, it really makes me happy and wanting to make them more often. I have not bought corn tortillas since I started making my own which was about the start of the covid. Thank you!

    This was just about the best tutorial on making tortillas I have seen. I just bought a tortilla press after going to a friend's house and having homemade tortillas for the first time. And you're right, after having them fresh and homemade, I never want to buy store bought again

      Usually when it sticks to the plastic is because it has too much water.

      Hi, you are very welcome. I've never tried using a rolling pin, but I have used a frying and a pot in the past. My niece recently told me that she used a pizza pan 😁. I think anything with a flat bottom would work best.

    I realize the flame/heat needs to be pretty high,
    but could you give me a suggested temp?
    I had my pan at around 450 to 500f if the
    therm is correct, is that hot enough? It seemed
    like I needed more heat, I could get it to 600f,
    but I thought maybe that's too hot. So, what
    temp do you usually use for these,
    if you have a digital thermometer gun. Thanks!

      I've never cooked them on a digital temp before but I would say 450-500 would work. Let me know how they come out.

      surface temp of about 450f to 500f , tortillas are
      coming out good, much better than store bought for sure.
      I tried to pre-make some to be cooked the next day
      with poor results, they tend to come apart, not a
      total loss, but would be nice if they stayed together.

      So sorry to hear that Anastasia. I find that any little thing can throw it off from puffing up. Either too much water, not enough water or the heat not at the right temperature, over cooking it, under cooking etc.

      @@CookingwithShirani I will try it again I think it was to soft and maybe thr heat was not right. In my country we make some5like this with flour and baking powder it puff up it is called roti but I like tortillas I had it in Mexico while visiting

      I have never tried making corn tortillas with the ready made masa so I can't say for sure. I think it would be the same though.

      Sometimes it has to do with the heat. Play around with the temp and how long you bake it. Maybe try 45 seconds instead.
