It's kind of amazing none of you had heard Nirvana before. They were arguably the biggest band in the world in the 90s and had a genre of music (Grunge) based off of their sound. Smells Like Teen Spirit is their biggest hit. Definitely worth giving a listen to.

  • @gregphillips24

Kurt Cobain was the lead singer. He took his own life in 1994

What a song to start with! Everything that Nirvana was musically is distilled into this song.

I don’t think it’s possible to not know Nirvana if you lived in any western world country in the 90’s. Seriously not possible!

Nirvana was the band that made me become a musician back in 92. Best band ever.

  • @christopherpeterson7212

You seriously have never heard Nirvana before this??? I question the value of home schooling now….

  • @evacichon1

How any of you never heard of Nirvana is mind blowing! They were one of the biggest bands of the 90s. I am sure you have heard of Kurt Cobain-He was the lead singer who passed away in 1994. Their drummer is Dave Grohl, who since Kurt's passing started the band Foo Fighters.

  • @TheNotedHero

Wow, what a song choice for your first entry into Nirvana! As others have commented, Nirvana single handedly changed the music industry in the early 90s. I was in high school and lived through the impact they had on what everyone was listening to. "Lithium" and "Come As You Are" are two other songs of theirs you should definitely check out. And then their unplugged concert a few years later was epic, another special moment in music history.

More obscure Nirvana stuff is brilliant. Fond memories listening to Nevermind cassette while paddling as a young lad:)

  • @smathfury

No one can deny the raw power and catchiness of this band. It gave me chills to watch all of your minds get blown!! This band helped save my life, back in the day. Thank you.

Lithium, Come as You Are, Drain You, Where Did You Sleep Last night? - You will entirely fall in love more with Nirvana, thanks for the reaction.

  • @sumonjamal1653

Never heard of Nirvana?!? This band DEFINED the 90's decade 😁 They came out of Seattle and turned the rock scene on its head in 1991 and the entire music industry changed overnight in 1992 - everything 80's went out the door because of Nirvana ... It was crazy. But the band was short-lived and met a tragic end in 1994.

  • @drowningpooralice5505

Aneurysm was the perfect first song for you guys.

  • @bigcheese185

She keeps it pumping straight to my heart ❤️.

  • @erikastoncius6560

If you were alive in the 90's, you know Nirvana, even if you didn't listen to them! They basically took over the world in the early 90's! I like the Reading version of Anyerusm the best!

  • @clintkaster6269

Oh man. I do love seeing these reactions. I was a teenager in Seattle in the early 80's and it was pretty much the back end of Nowhere. There was no internet, there were no cell phones. We heard rumors of the outside world but very little of it came our way. So we smoked a lot of pot and drank cheap beer and made weird music. This is what came of all that.

  • @lisaburdge4558

The drummer in Nirvana is Dave grohl who went on to be the lead singer in Foo fighters

  • @cecelia1350

Yes the bass player (Krist Novoselick) is 6 foot 7 inches. It is surprising the two older ladies never heard of the band. Their biggest hit “Smells Like Teen Spirit” has over 1 billion views. That’s only on TH-cam if you count the # of views from MTV in the 90’s it’s easily 2 billion views. MTV played that video once every hour for many months.

  • @johnkelleher9092

I can’t believe mom has never heard this before…. Mind blown
