    • @rarbiart
      @rarbiart  5 ปีที่แล้ว +22

      but if it comes to maintenance, it's terrible. patches of construction work for 2-7km length. So it takes yeares for a 100km distance.. and when it's finished they can restart from the beginning. France does this more efficient: "travaux de nuit" around paris where they just close motorways fully e.g. from midnight to 4AM on weekends, but then have it finished by a weekend. Or reduce the lanes, but then on length of 30+km, having hundreds of workers out at the same time, in order to complete the work within a few weeks for the full distance.

      @@christian-io7qq i mean, I used to live in Germany as a kid and now German Autobahns lost their magic because of loads of road works and traffic jams but I love German Autobahns as a Polish person who lives in a place from where they have to drive around 100km to reach the nearest motorway

    As the pavement in all the Countries is the same dull grey wherever you are, this can cause drowsiness as it's a repetition over an over. A good idea is to install extra driving lights, but have then angle forward but slightly towards the side of the road and this will allow your brain to see more and help you notice wild life sooner. Should you wander off in the wrong lane, you would notice that right away and make the corrections, it's also quite the help when approaching an intersection or turning sharply into another street.

      @@saladspinner3200 I do mind. They are not necessary. They ruin the environment and do NOTHING for safety - in fact, they make it worse. You can see all exits and intersections in Croatia from space as well. They give off more light that many nearby towns! And the traffic during the night is extremely low.

      @rarbiart  6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      this a Volkswagen Passat B7 (2013) with the scandal ridden EA189 block (here: 130kW). I should have stayed below 210km/h due to winter tires (speed index H). So the sections like 58:04 where i went a bit faster than 130mph should normally not have happened....
      BTW: the ambient noise is even lower, it's just the dash cam's microphpne ear to the windscreen.
      But this goes for my previous GM too: th-cam.com/video/VK7WzoDqvng/w-d-xo.html

      It's actually pretty safe. At this time of day there are almost no cars you could crash into, if your far light is turned on you can see the curvature of the road quite clearly and far because of the reflective paint used on the linings.

    Does this motorway have variable speed limits. I noticed your speed varies considerably?

    • @rarbiart
      @rarbiart  5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      look for the signs "round, with red border, white background, black numbers". you will spot 100 and 120 (or 130) depending on the state, or unlimited. Or 80 due to bad road conditions, or construction work, sometimes even 60km/h due to "difficult junction inside construction area".
      And if you see, that i am doing most time "about 20 above": getting caught for speeding up to 20 "too much" it's just a loss of some currency units. if it's 21+ you will collect some bad scoring which accumulates (and hardly fades away). And later will invalidate your driving licence as a long term result. speeding 26+ will make your license to be suspended for at least a month.
      And since the winter tires which were still mounted in april were of speed-index H, their limit was 210km/h (130mph)

    • @wolfburgman
      @wolfburgman 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@rarbiart thank you for your quick reply. I couldn't make out the signs to be honest though I'm watching on a small screen, but the laws you have regarding speeding are interesting. We have a points system in the UK and fixed penalty notices. Once you accumulate 12 points your licence is suspended, the time varies. The fixed penalty is £100.

    • @rarbiart
      @rarbiart  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      the visiblity is a problem of wide camera angle. Even on a big screens the signs are just for a fraction of a second in the spot "big enough to read" and "not too narrow to be motion blurreed while passing."
